Re: Bafang ultra max 2.2kw EXCESS controller

I spoke on the phone with Exess bikes. They don’t offer the Innotrace controller anymore unless installed on their bike. They told me that Innotrace will be selling the controller separately.

You can get the controller installed by Innotrace directly. 390€ + 39€ install.

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Thx for your view. Trying to resolve. Bike had 3200 km’s when the clutch broke. I have a little more km but still working - of course with higher voltage and higher rpms to avoid clutch damage, the clutch can't melt like the nylon gear of BBSHD and might be the weakest part compared to the steel ge...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

This is the end result. Main gear is busted. Clutch is busted. Less than a year old bike sits useless. Contacted Frey. Let’s see their response. Wonderful. How did you do that? Do you have superpowers? I really abuse my Ultra bike (2500W) and my clutch is like new. Maybe I don't pedal hard enough? ...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Less than a year old bike: Clutch broke. The old clutch pawls had completely destroyed the main gear teething. Had to buy a new clutch and main gear. Now when re-assembled getting error 30. Doesn’t work at all even though all wires and main board were ok. Most likely another fried motherboard. Wond...

Re: Bafang Ultra G510 - error code 11 & burnt controller

Ok “buddy”. I’m done talking here. I understand it’s pointless to argue with you. Sorry I wasted your time and tried to reason. Good luck with your bike. Exess rides well. Calling a 963Wh battery ”nearly 1100Wh” is fraudulent. Simple as that. ”Nearly 1000Wh” would be ok. You are skipping an entire ...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I own the AM1000 and the HT1000. Both had a motor ticking noise. I sent the AM1000 motor to Bafang for repair and the noise came back over a short period of time. I opened and packed grease just as the video shows. This did stop the issue for a short period of time, but it returned. I reopened both...

Re: Bafang Ultra 1000 needs work

Hi guys! I think my FAT1000 Ultra’s clutch is starting to die after 3000 kms. Sometimes it slips on steep uphills and I’m 100% sure it’s not the chain. I ordered from https://www.greenbikekit.com/ new gears and the clutch. What I presumably ordered were the frontmost and the rearmost gears. Do you k...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

After 3000 kms of riding the Bafang Ultra motor has started to show it’s age. I’ve experienced clutch slipping (100% sure it’s not the chain) on steep uphills. It seems like some fingers of the clutch aren’t engaging anymore. I ordered new gears from Greenbikekit.com including the 3-pawl clutch. Hop...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I rushed to fix the fault at my local bikeshop since I had a misconception that the shipping of spare parts would take long. Which turned out to be wrong. Later my in-warranty spare parts have arrived within a week so now I totally understand why Frey would have liked to provide a spare part rather...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I’ve had no issues with Frey regarding warranty-related stuff. Every time something has broken I’ve had the spare part/refund at me within 2 weeks. That's interesting. I did not experience that when I communicated with Frey regarding the problems I had due to faulty QC on the M600 V2 bike that resu...

anyways hard to say. I am 1.85m and have both, Frey AM1000 and Frey EX - both in L. Frey EX seems to be a little smaller or lets say "more handy". As I'm 177cm I think Medium should suit me just fine in that case Additional Charger -> anyways, the default charger is 3A. you can use any AliExpress c...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

It’s possible to install any 48v capable light to AM1000. ”Steal” the current from here. Cut holes to the insulation with a scalpel and solder parallel wires that you take up front via the same route with other cables. Remember to insulate the ”stealing connections” well with vulcanizing tape and ho...

Re: Bafang ultra upgrade to 2500watt

It's possible you have a shorted motor winding. Try rolling the bike backward and see if you have a lot of resistance. I tried. No added resistance. I think it’s just high ambient temps combined with migrated grease out of sprockets. I’m going to re-grease soon when I get the socket to open the eng...

Hi guys,

I bought a kmc e11 chain (122 links) but the chain on the bike is 126 links? Frey am1000 L.

Every 126 link chain from KMC is for 12 speed.

What do i need to do?
Buy a Shimano chain. They’re cheaper anyway.

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Depending on your riding style, a 44t front is very nice for a bit faster cycling and not using the 11t rear cog all the time. You can also ask for a rear suspension bearing kit, I think. After having both an EX1 and XT M8000 cassette am1000 bikes, I must say, I do not think the extra costs outweig...

Re: Bafang ultra upgrade to 2500watt

Hi! Do you know if there’s some kind of overheat protection on stock Ultra? I ran my Ultra outside cover at 75 C. This probably means the inside temps hovered around 150-200 C. I felt a clear loss of power towards the end of my ride. The motor still works. Nothing obvious on the board, but it might...

Hi, I had an earlier version without a heat sensor and burned a winding. I can tell you, you'll notice that it's burned.
