Re: Go Kart Update

Amazing looking project. What sort of power are you pushing into the motor and have you dyno'd it to measure the efficiency? Got a 0-60 time yet as it looks mean. Hey mate, about 100v and 660a, I haven't put it on a dyno yet but Nuxland did a few with a similar motor, he got 75hp at 117v and 650a I...

Re: Go Kart Update

AWESOME. That thing is a rocket. Sorry I have been out of touch lately. How did the motor and battery pack hold up? Any heat issues? More video please. :bigthumb: Really cool. Gary No issues whatsoever, batteries stayed cool, motor stayed under 60c! Also, what gear ratio were you using on those tra...

Re: RIPPY KART

Once the gearing is sorted out you should be smashing track records alongside the diff!

Nuxland had a similar problem with speed, essentially after 4200rpm his motor was exchanging torque for rpm because of field weakening.

Re: Go Kart Update

Well at 80hp and 90ft lbs of torque, with a 2:1 (15f / 30r) gear ratio I should be able to get to 102 mph at 6000rpm, though because I have so much torque I could gear much more aggressively 1.6:1 (15f / 24f) and get to 128 mph (102 mph at 4800rpm)

Re: Go Kart Update

Why don't you go for my 100v setup with a Motenergy ME1616/1507 and a Sevcon Gen4 Size 6? Not much difference in cost except the batteries, I spent £1600 ($2000) for the controller and motor, how much is the AC-9 and Curtis controller?
