Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

If there are no one-way/freewheeling devices in the drivetrain than it should just be the controller preventing it. Its curious they wouldn't have included it as a feature or option considering its a zero chain growth drive system. Seems like regen comes free with most controllers. I agree with all...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Is there any detailed review comparison between the Fastace ALX13RC and the DNM USD-8S forks? Or any person here who had the chance to ride both of them and can tell me the main differences and what he prefered in the end? I haven’t ridden the FastAce extensively but I did replace my RSTs with the ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I bet James Stewart on a Sur Ron could beat me around a supercross track no matter what bike at any power level I was given to try to keep up. great. some problems on triples but yea, he probably doesnt need a throttle on the full race. just flip a switch for wot  Thank you I like lm...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Is everyone running without a chain guard? Or anyone otherwise recommend what to get? Thanks! No chain guard, probably why they set it so tight at the factory. Makes me a little iffy though, considering what a chain under load can do if it breaks with that much tension without a chain guard to miti...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Got new bars installed. I went with the Answer protaper 810 with 3" rise. Now the bike is perfect for me. Only issue, was I pulled a wire putting on the brakes. I am unaware of how the electric brakes work on this. I noticed that the grub screws weren't tightened all the way on the brake wires. The...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Incredible it was so well matched with a 450, was he giving it everything the 450 had? These are no where near a 450 in any aspect - at least not for general use. The only place you'd keep or up is on a tight twisty track where the 450 can't get the power down. I rode my surron and a ktm 450 back t...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I’ in Houston, TX, I wrote Luna about test drive, they said no possible, cause all their bikes are customers sell ready these bikes are selling like hot cakes so someone near you will probably have one soon.. if your up for the travel I'm sure Rix in NV or motomoto in cali would let you test their ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Yep, and as much as people worry about the stiction of air forks due to the pressurized chambers, air forks have the advantage of being progressive, meaning that as they are compressed, their spring rates change progressively larger. This is because the air inside which is actually the spring force,...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

rides stable compared to a hub motor eh? :D I pretty much had the same impression on the quality / price. A bit wow'd by the frame and rear suspension geometry quality. I don't know, I am impressed with the build quality but the Fastace rear shock seems to be just okay on mine. They say you can adj...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Those look really nice! Question for folks who have ridden both forks, is the RST noticeably flexier? Luna has offered to exchange my Fast Ace for the RST since it has the seal issue. I really like the feel of a solid fork though, and don't care about losing some bike weight. JRH, the RST is much m...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Been messing around with it... wiggling through wires coming out of the frame and I did get intermittent power. I could get it to stay on without any movement, but as soon as I moved, it went out again. Must be a loose connection in the bunch. Good sign I guess that it’s not the controller, but loo...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Check the brake switches. I think the brake light would come on if either was active. Is there rear light supposed to be brake activated? Mine is always on if bike is on. No. It’s not a brake light, just a tail light, which is kinda weird cuz they went through the trouble of installing proximity sw...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Quick question, don’t have a manual so I’m going off the documentation link from LC’s website. Removed both batteries and charged them. First bike, first battery. Air switch off, plug it in, air switch on, nothing. Air switch off, remove battery, put it in second bike. Same procedure, everything wo...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I'm pretty sure they will do me right if an issue comes of my battery. I wish I could say that they made it clear from the beginning, but I honestly never even got a positive affirmation on this, but they also didn't refute me when I told them I was confident they would handle an issue if it arose....

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

The response from luna was : your battery was not dead. That is impossible. Your air switch would not have been on. They are test ridden before shipped. There is no way the BMS was tripped. We will do nothing for you until YOU prove the battery capacity is low, and you will also pay to ship it back...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

The RST is a pretty budget fork and claiming they're a premium product is a bit rich. I looked into buying these to package with the FUTR frames a few years back but ended up going with DNM, even though they were a little bit more expensive. DNM aren't the bees knees of suspension, and for the pric...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

If I’m not mistaken, the forks in motomotos videos are with the RSTs. He considers them as the superior fork and he’s been riding for almost longer than I’ve been alive so I trust his opinion. I’ve gotten the chance to ride both his bikes and to be honest I was a little more impressed with the RSTs ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

The most recent batch of bikes we have imported all have Fastace forks, but no longer with the air chambers. The new Fastace fork is spring only, and the factory will no longer supply Fastace air forks. They are now also offering DNM USD-8S as an option, alongside the RST Killah and Fastace ALX13RC...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

On Luna's "documentation" site that they lead you to, it states that the Fastaces are production forks, so you're absolutely right. Honestly, I just touched base with them and although it's not set in stone, it's unlikely they'll be swapping them out for free. They are working to get Fastace forks ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Hi all, new here but have been looking at the Sur-Ron for a while. I was originally going to mod my fat tire bike(electric motor etc) but decided against that after looking at the Sur-Ron. So far it looks to be a great bike. For those owners is this bike what you thought after you received it? Stil...
