Re: Magic Pie V5 PAS levels

I'm afraid that's as good as it gets. :( Individual PAS settings are not possible OEM wise... a somewhat dismal prospect for a product I enjoy. https://i.imgur.com/EYFHofp.jpg Some programmable setting work arounds might be tried as discussed here... https://goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?topic=6049....

Re: Trying to bypass cheap Chinese display!

It may be easier to fix the error code than to bypass the display. Have you checked you hall sensor connector and reset the pins to make sure they are all making consistent contact? Did you find a manual for this display that gives the error codes and wiring? I've had no such luck... :( It seems li...

Re: Trying to bypass cheap Chinese display!

Typically a bypass for a KT-LCDx type display requires... V+(Red #1) to Control (Blue #2) and Ground (Black #3) to RX (Yellow #5) jumpers. But this display only has 5 wires... Some displays don't need the Ground to RX jumper.

For accuracy a display model would be required.

I was lucky enough to find my intermittent ground at a bad solder connection at the throttle's hall sensor ground leg. :D It was like a funny car coming up the the starting line... Very unnerving! Re: Adjusting BMS Battery Charger Cut Off Voltage

Another caution, running a cheap charger at the maximum voltage it can be trimmed to, may be stressful enough to shorten its lifespan. +1 A voltage increase such as this may reduce the amperage capabilities to near half. Use the wattage and math... But I see the other two pots peeking out, and this...

Re: Broken Hub motor?

The lit throttle LEDs do indeed indicate that full battery voltage is getting to the throttle. If the harness cables look absolutely pristine. (no scrapes, pulls, or pinches) I'd start with something simple like disconnecting both brake connectors just in case one got damaged. ( a jammed on switch w...

Re: No torque wrench...axle nut question

Hi ebike11, Sorry for the late reply to your P.M. question. Those are home made torque arms made out of 1/8th thick mild steel. https://i.imgur.com/y7X5t7Z.jpg My best tip would be to be very careful on matching the axle profile with it in the correct position. When you get your new charger that operates properly you can easily reuse your old charger's wiring and connector.

Re: Test The Brake Lever Switch help

As in the case of 29.7 volts over charge , it could be the battery's BMS over voltage protection. Or the chargers faulty voltage setting.... too close to call. Definitely not the controller's responsibility. Although it may lock-out on over voltage protection as you've seen. But nothing to do with r...

Re: Test The Brake Lever Switch help

I can appreciate the deserved concern which is why I couldn't see using your previous charging options. I disagree on the controller's responsibility towards charging though. As a battery is often charged without the controller even being attached. Then perhaps you/he means the controller or electro...

Re: Test The Brake Lever Switch help

Mistery found. The controller let the motor work at 29.2 V. More than that won't start. Also the charger's light at 29.4 turned yellow (that's when I hanged up). If I would let it continue it would reach 29.7 and stop the charge by itself (turning to green). Good job getting to the actual cause of ...

Very good, a multi meter is a good long term investment! Taking a close look at your proposed charger replacement, you will see that it is a "power supply" and in my opinion not adequate for properly charging a Lithium Ion battery pack. :( Look for a specific "charger" for a 24 volt nominal Li Ion b...

Re: Test The Brake Lever Switch help

You must allow time for the internal capacitors built into the circuitry of each, time to bleed off their charges. Before taking off the cov...
