Re: Controller wire gauge ( on/off switch)

A controller's "ignition" or "power lock" circuit requires very little amperage. As an example the Kelly KLS-S is 30mA. This would allow a small wire and switch with low rating to be used. If in doubt, put your meter in series with the circuit, set to amperage range and proper lead locations, to ver...

I would be curious if the PO8 speed limiting setting would make a difference. And in the advisement, what's that about a speed limited function wire?

No, but the flow chart thing is a bit of a time waster too.
Could you make any suggestions to improve it?

I think being able to monitor amperage draw, and using the throttle in small judicial amounts should be included.

It is NEVER necessary to go through the possible 36 possible combos of hall and phase wires, and those promoting it and the table to help go through it should be ignored.
Is this the table your referring too?

Re: Need help with throttle pins and kelly controller

Higher voltages can be a concern. But in this case the amperage involved is less than 100 milliamps... very low. This would be to power the LED charge level lights, and the controller circuit only. Thinking that the controller draw is 40mA. Quite normal wiring for Ebike throttles, displays, and harn...

Re: Kelly KLS-H Controller Wiring Query

I see a bit of a discrepancy with the controller having relay control. I know Kelly was removing this feature on some other models of their controllers. And according to KLS-H manual V1.1 from June , 2019 it looks as if it has been removed. https://kellycontroller.com/wp-content/uploads/kls-h/KellyK...

So given this can I ask if anyone knows if pin 7 on the Kelly controller needs 72v or can it cope with 12v? According to Fany with Kelly, and verified by poster JHA. Pin 7 needs full voltage. Hi Martin, If your system operates similar to a Bafang Mid Drive, then yes you can wire up your gear sensor to the braking system. From your description it sounds like the ground wire (batt - or 0vdc) for the hall sensor is still disconnected or bad. I would double check that first.

Re: Help connecting key switch throttle?

The throttle does not need these wires to function. (high voltage battery power) But if your controller has an ignition, key lock, or something like a power lock circuit. It needs to be activated for the controller's 5vdc regulated output is energized. Which IS used by the throttle's hall sensor. Lo...

Hi detrailers, I suspect you have more than the 4 wires you mention. If so, what colors and what are they connected to? Does your throttle have a voltage display also? Seems like the controller firmware programming has been changing a bit. Use to be it wouldn't lock it out. Or you could work around it by setting the auto off feature to "none". Hi surytj, And welcome to the forum! :) Here is a great thread I like to share with a different charger, but it gives you a good idea of how to set up your charger and how it operates. You may get an idea of which potentiometer does what, from their corresponding positions. https://electricbike.com/...
