Re: Revolt RV-series motor review and comparisons
Look like you have worked very very hard on these motors EG. You should build your own motor from scratch! Are you going to test the RV100s on an EV to do a practical comparison?

EG your passion and intrigue is admirable. Your past posts are a great read and stand out from many others on here. As an average consumer you get my vote. Anyway keep posting and disregard the non helpful comments, as it is only words on a screen. Nothing more. Others please feel free to comment on...

Dear god! You are very serious about this ! As normal I'm lost a little with the detail of your build but I fully expect you to have an amazing controller! I'm keen to know how how well this performs on your build and what it can successfully drive (motor wise). I think you should set a goal ..........

Re: first post. Looking for some scooter upgrade guidance
So I have had a busy few days with all the items and planned my approach with the build of this scooter. I started with the wiring as there is a limited amount of space available for the wiring as there will be a 20s lipo pack, bms 12v dc to dc converter and lots of wires to sort out. So I figured a...

Re: first post. Looking for some scooter upgrade guidance
SO the package has arrived !!!! whoop whoop. i am now taking full stock of the build and working out how it will all cram inside the box. first job is to work out where to mount the controller: so i have planed to mount the controller to a aluminum bar (heat sinks screwed to this) then mount the con...

Re: first post. Looking for some scooter upgrade guidance
So the package of goodies is going to be here this Saturday and i have to tell the world that i'm excited! I'm looking forward to planning and documenting my build. Lots of stuff to think about and work out but it will give me a couple of months of fun and enjoyment. Then time to test it all out.

Re: Batteri upgrade/more performance.
I hear what your saying. I will be using a bms and the packs are taped into one and Velcro’d down. As it’s contained in a metal box ( all be it with a wooden lid) it is as safe and movement free as it will be. Agreed a good 18650 pack is the safest bet . But for bang for your buck RC lipo batteries ...

Hi, I have a similar scooter to yourself and I also had no idea when joined this forum. Its fair to say I still have limited knowledge but I know enough to help offer some quick fixes for you. In short if you want a cheap and reliable battery and charger I would suggest you pick up 4 x 4s multistar ...

Re: Chaos 48v 1600w scooter upgrade / mods log
Looking good Todd, keep up the good work. im running 10-54 on my Chaos 48v scooter and it gets warm but not to hot that you cant touch it. Im a fat sod and this gearing worked out fine for me so i would say don't worry about it. To help air flow remove the motor end case and pull out the wire mesh a...

Re: first post. Looking for some scooter upgrade guidance
So, a few little things to add to the scooter build: The first is I have added a MTB 160mm disc and caliper mounting addapter to the front end and after some working out i have managed to fit the disc to the hub. The result is a solid front brake that when pulled alone has no problem bottoming the f...

Re: Evo e scooter 36v 800w more speed + range help
Hi Todd if your not in a rush i will have my 1600w Boma motor and 48v controller up for grabs over the next 8 weeks or so when i have upgraded. I have a standard 48v SLA but if i'm honest don't bother with SLA's. really dont ! Save up go for a Lipo set up. i went with mulitstart 16000mah packs at 45...

Re: first post. Looking for some scooter upgrade guidance
I have now moved to lipo's and i'm running 3x 4s multi-star 16000mah wired in series. This has made a great improvement as there is very little sag and saves a good amount of weight. The scooter is much easier to ride now and is much more manoeuvrable , my advice is ditch the SLAs for lipos . At £45...

Re: first post. Looking for some scooter upgrade guidance
I had a couple of hours tonight to tinker so I took myself off to the garage to see what I could do. So after I decided to fit a smaller rear gear (54 down to 44) to the scooter. So after removing the wheel and a couple of links in the chain I swapped out the rear sprocket and also fitted the origin...

UK: a good custom Li-ion pack builder that can help?
Hi guys I was wanting to explore an option of having a Li-ion pack built ideally here in the UK . I am currently exploring the battery options for upgrading a E-Scooter and I see Lipo is one option I think I could undertake myself but I am also wanting to explore other options. So would there be any...

Re: first post. Looking for some scooter upgrade guidance
The cheapest set of batteries i have seen yet!
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-compa ... -pack.html
I could fit 6 giving 3x20s 74v@16ah or 8 (just) giving 74/20ah. That is given the dimensions on the packs are correct.
