Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I see there’s now a standard TSDZ2 available that has Bluetooth connectivity. A few Europe s sellers on eBay have it.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hello, I have crossed 1500km with my TSDZ2 + OSF combination on a Trek FX 7.2 Hybrid (2015) and am absolutely loving it. I have, however, throughout the whole time, had one issue that I cannot seem to fix. Whenever I increase the human torque and start pedaling hard, I hear a 'clicking' sound comin...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Here in Boston we just had the hottest July on record, so I took it upon myself to do a thermal management mod for the TSDZ2. I was routinely having to dial back my assist usage to stay below 75C on my 23 mile (37km) round trip commute so I decided I would do something about the TSDZ2's awful therm...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

My new setup has developed a strange problem displaying current speed. My setup is a new TSDZ2 36v, KTLCD3, 48v batter (54.6v fully charged), V .019 of the OSS. The problem is that it does not register current speed. Instead after a long delay the speed is shown as a number up to around 4mph. Then ...

Re: TSDZ2 on Xtracycle Cargo Bike, Open Source vs Stock Firmware?

I’ve just built an Xtracycle leap bike with TSDZ2. I’m a mountainbiker and my normal cadence is 90-110rpm. On my MTB I run open source firmware with 36v motor and battery and the firmware configured for experimental high cadence mode. It’s pretty good but I still hit the max rpm threshold which I th...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Here’s my cargo bike, specifically built for the TSDZ2. It based on an Xtracycle leap conversion of of a 26” hardcore hardtail. Most bike parts I had in my parts bin. The new firmware v0.19 is fantastic. Thanks to all the developers. And my new TSDZ2 is really quite compared to my other 2. I’m runni...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I just installed my new TSDZ2 36v and 48v battery on my purpose-built cargo bike. So my question is - whats the danger with keeping the 48v battery and running in experimental high cadence mode 36v ? Please post pictures of your cargo bike!! There aren't much pictures of cargo bikes with TSDZ2. The...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I just installed my new TSDZ2 36v and 48v battery on my purpose-built cargo bike. I am very disappointed by the performance of overvolting. I expected it to be like experimental high cadence 36v on my v0.16 TSDZ2 which is on my other bike. It's not even close. I have v 0.19 of the firmware and a KTL...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I'm making a thinner gear cover to get a few more milimeters on the chainline. Prototype is 1mm thick, and the spacers for the chainring are 3.2mm so it's 3.2mm closer. Still need to shave a few tenths off the cover or make the spacers thinner as it rubs a bit. Maybe I can put it around 0.2-0.5mm c...

River crossings with TSDZ2 equiped bike.

Has anyone done a river crossing with a TSDZ2 equiped bike. I do a lot of mountainbiking with mine and have gone into puddles, but never been in a situation where the water comes up to the bottom bracket. I’d be worried about it shorting out the two wires under the right hand cover. I have a weekend...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

Is there a compiled version of this firmware with VLCD6 support ? I’m not a software developer and would like to flash my motor and use the vlcd6. My long term goal is to be able to compile the code myself, but for just now I’d like to download. Thanks.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

So I’ve rebuilt my spare TSDZ2 - put new controller in, installed metal gear, and shimmed the pedal axle to remove most of the play. This motor is going in my cargo bike. I’m ready to order a battery and was wondering. 2 things about v19 of the opensource software. 1) does overvolting the 36v motor ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Great stuff, keep it coming! Thank you for sharing Bartman, quite amazing what the motor can handle when used right. With that gearing it should have enormous torque! How did you manage to get the chain line acceptable? Here’s the link to the my post on the gearing setup. https://endless-sphere.com...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi Knutsel. Thank you for your reply. Not what I was hoping to hear, as I've eyeing this motor for a while. The only thing I can compare it to is my BBS02 750w 48v and it is very heavy duty (like a motorbike). But I actually miss the "real" bicycle experience as I mostly use the throttle (it has no...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

1. you must make sure that is not the motor max temperature feature that is disabling the motor power!! Verify again the configurations and reset to default values. 2. Not only see the torque sensor value, see also the pwm duty-cycle value when you push the pedals and rotate them!! And make sure br...
