I looked at the Sanyo cells but seem to have "C" instead. So, kinds confused.
That might just be the grade of the cells based on testing after they are made.

Re: How do I identify my ebike's li-on cells?

Did the battery have any brand or model identification?

Is there any faint lettering on the cells?

Could be Sanyo NCR 18650GA

Re: Review of 18650BatteryStore

Thanks for the review. That's alot of cells! The last time I bought NCR18650PF cells from IMR Battery they were all the same voltage (to within .01 volt) and had 2700 mAh when tested from 4.2V down to 3.0V, which I considered fine. I did notice somewhere on the cardboard boxes the cells came in that...

Re: Recently Gifted an old PL250 BionX system

You might be interested in using a homemade battery or one from a manufacturer other than BionX. This thread has a bit of info about how I did that on an older BionX I2C kit, while others have done it similarly on Canbus BionX systems. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=100791 Hav...

Re: What to do with my BionX-equipped bike?

Hi BigWheel, I'm the guy. OP's Bionx has a G2 console which I believe makes it a canbus system. The cable mod works on I2C Bionx systems (they were replaced by canbus around 2009) by breaking out the red pos and black neg from the comm cable and supplying 5V to the console and pack voltage to the mo...

Re: Dewalt powered mid drive road bike

Your bike looks good with the Dewalt packs on it - utilitarian. Thanks for sharing it.

What material did you use for the 3D printed portion of the battery mount? It needs to be strong enough to withstand all the road chatter and potholes. Maybe it was a type of nylon?

Re: Panny or Sanyo?

Not to pile on here, but I built my last pack with Panasonic 18650 PFs 12S6P and find them to be a good balance of capacity, durability and cost. I bought them from IMR Batteries and they were graded as C cells, so that is one reason they weren't too expensive. I tested them and get 2700 mAh per cel...

Some of the BIonx leftover cables, batteries, motors, etc... were bought by a former electrical engineer at the company. His website offers to sell the remaining inventory he has at hand.

Re: can't find pot in charger from EM3EV - photos

Thank you, Fechter and e-beach. I tested each of the 7 resistors I could see on the charger's circuit board by placing a second resistor in parallel while monitoring the voltage of the charger output with my multimeter. The voltage never changed. Perhaps my test was flawed? This story has a really g...

Re: can't find pot in charger from EM3EV - photos

Thanks, e-beach!

I see three resistors that might control the current, minimum voltage and maximum voltage.

Your point about buying another charger is a good one- maybe splurge on a Cycle Satiator and stop all this nonsense with cheap chargers for every different voltage...

can't find pot in charger from EM3EV - photos

Greetings all- I bought this inexpensive charger from Paul at EM3EV three or four years ago. It came set to 58.8V for 14S packs. I would like to lower the voltage to 50.4V for 12S packs. Once it was open, I could not find a potentiometer to set the voltage with, but I'm no electrical engineer! Anyon...

Re: Winding Question - Help Please

Fantastic video.

Being brilliant and all, of course I've already unlaced the motor...

I also unlaced it before trying to remove the freewheel, you'd think I'd learn after a bit.

Anyway, this might answer your question as to whether I value my time!

Thanks, MadRhino and DogMan for sharing your wisdom on this one. I guess...

Thanks, MadRhino. I'm sure you're right, it can't be economically rational to rewind a motor by hand, but it might be rewarding to try once... Winding Question - Help Please

I've been swapping older Bionx I2C 250 and 350 watt motors into 700C rims as I look for the best solution for a long distance touring ebike. I have an I2C 250 watt Bionx motor that has a great high speed winding, but it doesn't have bolt holes to attach a disc brake rotor. The 350 watt motors don't ...

anyone bought from "18650BatteryStore.com" in Atlanta?

Their prices are higher than tumich or NKON, but shipping within the US should be alot quicker than the 1 - 2 months I've heard it takes from the EU / Russia.

Has anyone had a good or bad experience when ordering from them?

Re: The end of BionX?

If Justin could get BionX for pennies on the dollar, he would make a fantastic company out of it.

Perhaps there are even some govt grants in Canada to promote keeping the company there.

BionX quality with user programmability and open source for batteries would make a winning combination.
