Apart from issues with secondary functions or plans to add any additional features, is the motor control of 0.20 considered reliable yet?
I have been running for a few months, zero issues for me (using KT-LCD3) It's great!

However, the threads warning of overheating concern me a bit, but it seems you can’t have internal temp. measurement and a hand throttle. Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Hi This is my new bike with TSDZ2 and Opensource SW and 850C Display My thanks to Casainho that makes it possible. Is a Giant Trance Ltd 2014, 140mm Front and Rear. Very nice job, looks great. Can I ask how you interfaced the TSDZ2 into the bottom bracket shell? I assume that bike had some kind of ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Mctubster Did the converter work well? I had tried something similar but it didnt work. I would love to find a converter that could work in the 3.0-4.2v range so we can just run batteries in parrallel which is much simpler and less prone to failure. Plus you could have any size pack you want based ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Here are the new developments I am being done for 850C, the customized numeric fields and also the graphs, with yellow and red colors so users can understand when motor power is near or is being limited. For instance the cadence, we know that the limit is a bit over 90 RPMs -- user can customize ea...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Thanks, I really appreciate the drawing it helps a lot. I'm going to watch my cadence more carefully for a while and see how things fill below 52 RPM, 90% of the time I am between 60 and 80 or RPM Sure NP. Couple of points. The calculated 52RPM is based on empirical measurements and a number of cal...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Hi guys, i recently tried to update my tsdz2 750 to OSF. The 0.20 firmware transferred with success, but now i'm getting an empty battery signal (battery is full) on my xh-18 which is stock firmware. Motor assist isn't working. I also tried to install the temperature sensor and thermal dissipation ...

...... Primarily to keep the battery output voltage constant. I get back to AU in Jan, so will try this with the TSDZ2. The great thing about these voltage boosters, is only the portion of the boosted voltage has losses attached to it, so they are pretty efficient (say 95%) or more. .... How can yo...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

OK so at what cadence or RPM does the 36 Volt torque pass the 48V torque? If possible I would love to see the 2 torque curves on the same graph showing at what RPM the 36V torque overcomes or passes the 48V torque and at what percentage they are more or less than each other. I think knowing exactly...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

So this means that due to the controller being limited to around 16 A we can get approximately 34 % more peak torque from the 48 V motor. But this extra torque quickly goes down to levels at or below the 36 V motor. It is only truly noticeable at startups and low range situations. The 36 V motor wi...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I can't figure out how these end up being offset so much to the right. Looking at the dimensions diagram, I calculate 69.8mm to the left and 80.2mm to the right when used with a 68mm bottom bracket. This makes only 10.4mm offset to the right. Do both factory cranks arms have equal offset? I can see...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

There is no difference between the 250/350/500/750 W versions of the TSDZ2. The only difference in the hardware is what type of motor you might have: 36 or 48 V. The controller is the same for all versions. How can't there be a difference in 250/350/500 and 750w? That statement contradicts itself. ...

With the changed firmware the two bikes are comparable, the engine character remains different but the performance in the system...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Regarding the crank offset, I was also looking at it, found in my garage one old left crank with zero offset. Then I discussed it with the bike mechanic, he told me that he can convert it to the right crank (basically drill out the left thread and put a new bushing with the right threading). Then I...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Sorry I’ve only used the files from your Github. Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Just checked and I have field 8-6 enabled. On trying again I can change the setting about 20 - 30% of the time but you have to do the shift from the home key to pushing the up key and then long push on the up key incredibly rapidly which then moves the field across one before it comes back out into...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I've not yet found a way to move between the three fields in the main wheel speed display ( centre screen ), even the Wiki manual only talks about it, I have inadvertently also moved across to the average speed and not found a way back. There is also the lower centre display which is not working co...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

OK there might be a bit of an addendum to my previous post. On delving more to back off the power output, I went in and calibrated the pedal weights with the aid of a few gym weights. Now basic default setup was 67 and to get any near values I have had to back this off to 40. At 7.5 kgs and 15kgs t...
