Re: Which cell for long lasting battery

Are your battery cells assembled into plastic cavities, or just connected to eachother with glue?
Do you know, with which materail the cells are welded to eachother? Pure Nickel, or Hilumin?

Re: 14s2p Minicube w/ 21700 batteries

The Samsung 50E are rated at a max discharge rate of 9.8A. The ad is misleading to the novice. Yes the BMS supports a discharge rate of 30A, but the battery only supports a discharge rate of 19.6A (2P) configuration, but I would not run it at more than 10A to expect any usefull lifespan out of it i...

Re: How solar panel impact battery life for ebike?

I would not say it is impossible, I would just say it is complicated and might be expensive. You would need between the battery and the solar panel something like this: https://www.amazon.com/GHB-Controller-Intelligent-Temperature-Compensation/dp/B01LZZMDSQ/ref=sr_1_3?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%...

Re: Panasonic/Sanyo NCR20700B vs Samsung INR21700-50E

I used to be a passionate RC-Freak and gained some experience on Li-polymer at the time, where 18650 could reach maybe 4C the most. I remember trying to assemble a battery with CGR18650CH for some races...that was really desperating... But in the meanwhile we have battery cells out there, ...

Are you sure that you agree with Matador ? 😊 Just read carefully his post. 😊 Docware Of course I did and if you read my post, you can see my explanation. I fit my battery to the Motor and controller I use and to the landscape and season I´d like to drive. And as long as I am 80 Kg. battery + motor ...

Re: Panasonic/Sanyo NCR20700B vs Samsung INR21700-50E

I agree with you as well Matador! The reason, why I bought a frog battery, based on the 21700 M50 from LG Chem, is because I use at 48V a motor (Tongsheng TSDZ2) with 250W. On 13S3P I have around 1,80A - 2,20A CDR on every cell...and I ride my bike in the city...and it is really flat (Hannove...

Re: Panasonic/Sanyo NCR20700B vs Samsung INR21700-50E

I think the INR21700-40T is very interesting in small dimensions of batteries like 10S2P, or 10S3P.
I daubt it, if the 50E, or M50 will have more Wh at this configuration on 250W-350W motors?!

Re: Powerful inside-frame battery

Hey-o! I was just offered a Myatu fatbike for next to nothing, however I was informed the battery had gone bad. I've been scouring the internet for a new one, finding mostly rack- and frame type batteries. I humbly ask for your help to figure out the following: I am not surprised you were offered t...

Re: Panasonic/Sanyo NCR20700B vs Samsung INR21700-50E

I don´t know, how the INR21700-50E are doing, I guess the same like the LG INR21700 M50?
But if you are into life-cycle, I guess the INR21700-40T will last for longer time. The discharge current would not harm them at all, and they are better on fast charging according to the specification of SDI.

So if you wish to drive with 7104 cells battery with over 80 kWh you can go for that  , otherwise a battery for an eBike has completly other Challenges. It must have enough power (Discharge...

Samsung claims 2k cycles from the 33J @ 4.1 -->3v . Is that total bull? https://www.imrbatteries.com/samsung-33j-21700-3270mah-3-2a-battery/ On paper they seem to be touting it as 29E's big brother. https://secondlifestorage.com/t-Samsung-33J-a-21700-Li-ion-battery-designed-for-Tesla Usually those ...

A123 26650 are LFP Totally different chemistry, fantastic longevity if treated well, should use a setpoint-adjustable charger and BMS. and great discharge rate when needed. But less energy dense, what is the use case? 26650 in a little frog? with 48V? With LiFePo4? you need 15S so maybe enough plac...

Re: Panasonic/Sanyo NCR20700B vs Samsung INR21700-50E

you are not going to get any decent cycle life on any of the 2xx cell form factors. if you want hard cycle life you need to dial it back to 18650 and stay under 3000mAh. What do you understand with "decent"? My first battery was based on Sony Konion US18650V3 and it last at least 6 years ...

Re: Panasonic/Sanyo NCR20700B vs Samsung INR21700-50E

In 14S5P you have on 20A discharge exactly 4A peak current on every battery. Both NCR20700B, INR21700-50E, or even LG Chem INR21700 M50 (which I have in my battery) are suitable. The 20A Charging current is too high for life cycle. I would not exceed, if I were you, the 0.3C for the battery. Especia...

I am looking for a 48V with the highest capacity I can get and found those 2, assembled with 21700 cells: With 21700 from Samsung SDI: https://enerprof.de/shop/batteries/ebike-and-pedelec-batteries/48v-li-i...

Re: 21700 Battery cell with High-Capacity

I´d like to assemble a 10S4P with 21700. It saves me 2 parallels in comparison to 18650. I am aware, that the 21700 have lower C rate in this capacity, but on 250 Watt motor, I don´t see any problem. I was just wondering if any one around here gained any experience on those types of batteries?! Seco...

21700 Battery cell with High-Capacity

I would like to make some new experiments with 21700 batteries. I´d like to have at least 20Ah in 36V (10S). Found the 50E at nkon.nl here: https://www.nkon.nl/samsung-inr21700-50e.html Found a new battery from LG Chem at enerprof.de: https://enerprof.de/shop/batteries/li-ion-batterie-cells/samsung-...
