Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi, I own an Omnium cargo bike, with a 750w, 48V TSDZ2 mounted on it. I am thinking of selling it and getting a Riese und Müller Packster 80, with a Performance Line CX gen2 motor. I go uphill a lot. I once had the opportunity to ride the Packster 80, but only for about 5 minutes. The Bosch drive s...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I would like to propose a simple survey: 1- what kind of bicycle do you use? 2- what is your engine? what are the gear ratios? 3- in which environment do you live? (city, countryside, plain, hill, mountain) 4- describe the usual use of the bicycle. 5- which of the 3 software modes do you prefer? 6- ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I have 36v and 48v. 48v have more power/torque but if you go at max power you easy burn the motor. In normal legal/street use they are very similar

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I just want to confirm, after a few days of use that the torque increase of version 20 beta1 is remarkable. Now the tsdz2 is back comparable with the turbo levo, slightly less but very little. with the 20 alpha version I thought I had burned the engine and was about to order a new one ... instead as...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Nothing news about 20 beta1? :( :( I hope there will be some news soon! As I said, I have submitted everything and am hoping everything will work! Edit: I recommend everyone to wait for the official release from the official GitHub page. But if there is anyone that simply can not wait I will includ...

Thanks! it seems to me a good way to keep the temperature low with a low cost.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I look forward to seeing if in beta 1 there is a little more power. the alpha 10 version seems a little less powerful than the 19. Obviously other surprises are welcome :-)

Oh... and one more thing! How about more torque and power? Yes, Solving this bug has enabled more power and torque! The changes are already submitted in the pull request and will be available in the 0.20.0 Beta 1 as soon as Casainho has time to take a look and release the beta version. I now...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Obviously I speak as inexperienced in programming etc. . Today, at the suggestion of an Italian user, I changed the value of menu 10.2 which has a default of 67. I put 80 and the pedal has become much softer at all levels. Much easier (even too much) to reach maximum power. Then I started thinking: ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I kept a wattmeter on the original firmware for more than 2 years and I know the engine behavior very well. The 36v motor was no more than 540w, and the amps setting was completely inoperative.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I will try, but in English it is difficult, to explain myself on what I think about sensor calibration. I have a levo, the main advantage of the levo is that the more you push the more the engine pushes. But it is not due to pressure. Yesterday with the levo, I faced a long road climb at 6-8% at the...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I don't think anyone is going to ask developers to work for free on a project they don't believe in or believe is outdated. But I think it's fair to say if the lcd03 project is permanently closed and even if some developer can if they obviously want to continue.

Re: Hardware temperature control tsdz2

I don't think that the thermal conductivity of aluminum is so bad ... with my system I lowered the temperature by 20 degrees. I don't think complex and expensive solutions are necessary.

I think that if there are space problems we can do 2 versions, city and mtb there are things that on mtb you never use es cruise etc.

Re: Hardware temperature control tsdz2

honestly I do not know! my idea was to make fins but then the copper is so conductive that where it touches in the casing it transmits a lot of heat .. the casing is always very hot

Re: Hardware temperature control tsdz2

the annealed copper sheet (softer than the raw copper) that I had was 0.8 mm. To curve it I beat it lightly with a hammer on a curved surface (you can see the marks on the photo). it took two layers to bring the engine to the desired thickness. I don't remember what glue I used to hold them together...

How about putting fine grit steel wool (000) pads between the motor and case? They are compressible, high conductivity.

Does the motor and case needs to be electrically isolated?
also exists fine copper wool, very good conductivity, i think that it work! it's suffit search on ebay...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I do not think it is possible. The torque sensor must feel a resistance, otherwise there is no torque.
On the descent, for example, the engine does not start by turning the pedals ... the wheel does not resist.

I forgot to mention that I have installed the alpha 10 version since Saturday and of course it's fine!
Except emtb which I still don't like but it's not new :-)
