Re: Common charge/discharge wiring w/ Sabvoton controller
yes, this is how every battery in a device is charged. just NEVER connect the charger without turning it on first. if you dont the battery and capacitors in the controller (wich are extremely powerful) will dump their energy into the empty capacitors of the charger and blow it up. this is especiall...

Common charge/discharge wiring w/ Sabvoton controller
I have a battery pack with common charge/discharge wires. Because the same wires are used for charging and discharging, I'm attempting to creating a way to charge my battery without unplugging it from the controller. I've attached an image of an idea I mocked up. If you can't see the image, here's m...

Re: Vector Ebikes taking >2 weeks to ship - Anyone else with this experience?
I ordered a battery and a frame from them recently. The battery got here about a week after they shipped it. The frame has been stuck in the USPS order status of "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" since Jan 23. I researched this status a lot and it looks like its a general catch-all for t...

Re: How to dissasemble a Mxus rear hub?
Yeah the link for the picture doesn't work, please upload to the forum. To open the motor from the brake mount side, you'll have to break the factory seal on the side cover. Start with a razor blade and work your way up to a flathead screw driver. Hit it pretty hard and it will start to separate.

Vector Typhoon Frame / QS 205 / 20s15p 30Q
Its been a while since I built a high powered bike. I'm going to be using this thread to document my progress as things come together. Here is a list of all the components I'm planning to use: Vector Typhoon Frame - I have tried the EEB clone frame and it worked well, but some design problems worrie...

Re: Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD
I have a Phaserunner MT and CA3 paired to an old 72v pack. It took some time to get the phaserunner settings right. I got a lot of motor stutter after doing autotune. Before I fixed it, 1/5 throttle the motor would stop as soon as it picked up the drivetrain slack. When the chain pulled against the ...

I read through your website about the evolutions of your first build, sorry it got stolen. The new build looks great, I'm very interested in seeing the continued progress. What are the specs of the 72v 70ah battery?

Re: Sondors x new bike the Metacycle
This is very promising. I don’t see it being a game changer, the technology is nothing special. The price point is perfect. Hopefully they’ll make a “dirt” version with a better suspension. Maybe there will be a future option to double the battery and I’ll in the empty frame space. They could begin...

Re: Rear wheel & rim size, what is the best moto rim width to go for? QS205, 25kW
I think 25kw is a little too high for a 205. You might want to look into getting a 273. Sorry I can't comment on the correct rim width.

Re: How to get the most power out of a QS205 50H?
Wingdings are a very touchy topic. In my experience, it really depends on how you ride. People want to have the ability to launch hard from a stop, but most of the time nobody is doing this consistently (unless you're racing or riding extremely technical trails). The majority of people are more impr...

Samsung 30Q could do what you need. 20s15p would be suitable for 200a.

Re: What if motor watt ratings..
The amount of heat a motor can shed is extremely dependent on ambient temperature. Continuous ratings are fine the way they are, you just have to understand the profile of your motor and the environment you’re riding in. Internal temperature gauges make this pretty easy to manage on most motors.

Re: BBSHD Future proof/worth it 2020?
I ride an sv650 and I have a BBSHD with the grin phaserunner v3 on a 72v battery. It's set up with the 30t front sprocket and I'm installing a steel gear in it this weekend. The BBSHD with 50 battery amps and 96 phase amps is incredibly torquey and gives you the feeling of dropping the clutch and wr...

It sounds like the "high voltage cutoff" is being triggered. You need to reprogram the controller so it doesn't throw a fault code.

That chain is going to cut your foot off if the roller ever breaks or if the chain breaks. Have you considered putting a chain guard over it? Everything else looks amazing.

Re: QS205 motor locking up with Sabvoton controller 200 a
The controller thinks the motor is overheated because it doesn't have a reading on the temperature sensor. Take a 1k resistor and solder it from the hall sensor ground wire to the temperature sensor wire for the Sabvoton. The motor temp is reading 130C which is the max temperature and keeping the co...

Re: Sabvoton designs, features, comparisons, etc
I probably won't be going with Sabvoton ever again. Well the big takeaway for me, is that "Sabvoton" is not a company, and over the years the name has been used by multiple makers. Who actual manufactured your terrible example? Maybe others are higher quality. . . I have no idea where it ...

Re: Sabvoton designs, features, comparisons, etc
I bought my 72150 from LAebike back in April of 2018 and had numerous problems with it from the start. It struggled to find a matching hall angle for a mxus 3k turbo I was using and constantly blew the hall sensors. I upgrade to a qs205 about a year later and it also blew through 2 sets of hall sens...

Re: Update on my Fazer 600 conversion
So those gen4 batteries come in 8s packs, but aren't they really just 2 of the 4s2p modules crammed into 1 case? I found a source of gen3 but I'm worried I won't be able to easily wire the 8s format into 20s for a 72v system. I have installed 5 Gen 4 Leaf modules in my Thundercat, cell nominal volt...

Most of the images are loaded now. If you want to put all 10 batteries in, you may want to consider widening the battery box. If you choose to only use 5 of those leaf batteries, this is an excellent tutorial about how to convert them from 2s2p to 4s1p
