Re: ENDURO EEB: Help me get rid of high speed wobble

Are you running tubes or tubeless tires? Are the wheels balanced with weights? The centrifugal forces the wheel goes through at 40+ are not always apparent at lower speeds and I suspect this may be what is happening.

Re: MXUS 3K & 72 volts... OK with Phaserunner?

Get a Sabvoton. First I had the Phaserunner and then a Sabvoton 72150 for my other bike. Even with settings maxxed out on the PR, acceleration and going up his is slower on my lighter bike. There are two settings you should be aware of: PHASE AMPS and BATTERY AMPS. The PR's max settings for both Ph...

Re: Salvage EV cell advice

What's it for ? And all are connected a little to a lot of different ways. Most times they give a little big and heavy for a bike. Many theads hear on E.S. So what's it for ? I'm welding a custom frame for a small e-motorcycle to commute around the city. I figured if I get the dimensions of the bat...

Salvage EV cell advice

I've done some reading on ES about salvage battery packs from cars like Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, Tesla, etc. Is it really as simple as buying something like this and assembling them into a 72v pack? Link below: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-Leaf-Battery-G2-Module-Lithium-Ion-8-volts-500-watt-66-Am...

I received my tracking number and an explanation from Moon. Based upon everybody else’s experience on ES with EM3ev, I think this truly was a combination of bad timing on their part. I won’t hold it against them in the future.

I finally got my tracking number. My package was shipped today, 11/2/18, after immediate payment on 10/20/18. Not sure what happened but I am not impressed.

em3ev support?

I hate to post about this publicly, but I haven't received a response from em3ev for 4 days and have no idea when my order will arrive. The arrival date is important because I live in a neighborhood with a high package theft rate. I bought a qs205 laced into a 17" moto wheel on 10/20/18. I was told ...

I purchased a qs205 3.5t in a 17" wheel on 10/20/18 from em3ev. I was told it shipped 10/29/18 with 3 day shipping so I'll let you know when I get mine.

So they want $248 for the motor plus about $100 to ship to USA. Very tempting to buy this and start playing with it before I even begin making my frame.

Yup, I soldered an XT90 onto the power cables then realized that the controller was only rated for 120a phase, not 120a battery so I bought a sabvoton. Feel free to check my build thread for more details.

Just bought 72v 20a adjustable charger

So I just purchased this charger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FLBWJRM/ Going to test it out next week and see how it handles higher currents. The charger I own right now is 72v 3a so this should provide a nice increase. Considering my batteries are rated at 1a standard charge and 2a fast ch...

Re: Time for a new battery? How will a degraded battery act under load compared to resting?

To begin: most batteries should be run at 50% of their rated discharge for longevity. Unloaded vs loaded pulls make a HUGE difference. My battery pack sags 0.5 volts when I spin the wheel unloaded at full throttle but sags 7-10v when I sit on the bike. 2-3 years of repeated full throttle abuse will ...

Re: Rieju 50cc conversion

I will remove the high volt control also if current spikes could drive a high volt error.. It'll be interesting to see if it makes any difference EDIT: I removed the low and high volt control, still there are cutouts.. could also be BMS on the old battery pack that trips at high current Definitely ...

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

Not meaningful? I beg to differ. QS slapped a 3000w rating on it without providing us a continuous rating at all. Like I said in my post, I'm attempting to ballpark it, not get a dyno result.

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

Using some power to weight ratios of other BLDC motors, the QS 3000 might actually deliver 7kw continuous and around 19kw peak. I did my math using another motor called the ME1115 which weighs 35lbs (QS 138 weighs 24lbs) and delivers 12kw continuous and 30kw peak. This seems to line up with what use...

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

How would the acceleration compare to a hub motor at identical wheels sizes, power levels, and top speeds? For example, lets say you run 72v 200a through a qs205 5t in a 17 inch wheel and your top speed is 60; how would the acceleration compare to a bike with the qs mid motor 72v 200a in a 17inch wh...

Re: How quickly can hall sensors break?

When you run hard, then suddenly stop, the motor loses all wind cooling, and the inside temp will spike more than you might think possible. When I fried halls in smaller motors pretty regular, they typically died while the motor was stopped, despite my attempt to run a bit of cool down time at low ...

Re: How quickly can hall sensors break?

Also maybe check the voltage going to the sensors. If they're getting overvolted (should be 5V going in) because the regulator on the controller is borked that would explain the short lifespan. That's possible but I can't be sure unless I take the controller apart. The only thing that is strange is...

Re: How quickly can hall sensors break?

They are probably just getting too hot. I don't know if there are some other ones that can tolerate high heat, but that might be something to look into. All semiconductor components have temperature limits though. The quoted temperature range is -20c to 125c and I never let my motor go above 90c. I...

I'm looking at using this motor in my next build. Hoping to max it out around 84v*200amps = 16.8kw/22.5hp. Does anybody think I should be going with a different motor or does this seem capable of handling the power?

How quickly can hall sensors break?

I replaced the hall sensors in my mxus 3k on August 5th and yesterday (September 18th) they broke. I run about 6k-7k watts through it. Does this seem normal?
