Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

If you didn't get it with the chainguide then you have to get the holes in there yourself. I did it as well due to too many chaindrops. But what have you been doing to your bike? Looks well used Did you tap and die the holes for the guide? How hard is it to get the motor housing off to do that? (Or...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

54.6 volts output for the said 48v charger, and to be all-inclusive, their 52v charger outputs 58.8v. You can also check the voltage of your battery using the Bafang display. Fully charged it should read 54.6v for a 48v battery. Reasoning: you have 13 cells in series with each a nominal voltage of 3...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

one, the battery lights won't really show you much usefull information. And to get the accurate battery percentage back I've noticed that you have to turn the bike on and off. What you can do is put the settings to voltage, which gives you a real-time value of the voltage that tells you exactly how ...

I know a lot of people who use the AM1000 as a commuter bike. You'd have to search appropriate fenders and such but it is a very smooth ride.

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! NEW FREY EX and FREY CC

Thanks for the reply, from my experience, every bike will handle differently and weight is indeed one important aspect. But rock gardens and jumps depend also on geometry and suspension quality. Hence, comparing different bikes is rather difficult, but you gotta outweigh motor power, battery size, a...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! NEW FREY EX and FREY CC

75# is a really heavy bike unfortunately. I was hoping then be more inline with other ebikes around 55 or so. I still never understand why one wants a lighter e-bike. If you want high power, you need a bigger motor, bigger battery, strenghtened rear suspension due to the sideways torque, bigger bra...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I would like to tow a child trailer occasionally, and would buy a other axle for this. This axle has a 1.5 mm thread pitch. I used this bolt on "This is NOT an axle for attaching trailers or trainers" True, the question was about the pitch and the same company sells the correct ones for attaching t...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Can anyone tell me which thread the 12x148 rear axle has? I would like to tow a child trailer occasionally, and would buy a other axle for this. This axle has a 1.5 mm thread pitch. I used this bolt on instead of the quick release: https://robertaxleproject.com/product/lightning-bolt-on-axle-rear-1...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I would save the money and go with the stock Shimano package. then once you receive the bike upgrade it to Rohloff! It was a 248 USD option, fairly cheap if you look how much the set costs here. Isn't the Rohloff crazy expensive compared to that? my am has been running the ex1 groupset fo...

might sound stupid, but does it not do anything in higher assist levels as well? If no, then most likely a cut-off feature that stops the motor from engaging.

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I figured, I've had the same experience here but also sometimes when I was the other one coming down while ebikers are going up. Going up hill is definitely another experience but going up at 20 while another is going down at 30 makes an impact pretty devastating and with all the trees. I just order...

The AM1000 I received in April now has 700 miles. It's been 100% reliable and a lot of fun. Here I am on the trail yesterday... (if it plays at low res change it with the "settings")

It almost looks like you should be riding in the opposite direction, not afraid of someone coming your way?

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Trust me, everybody loves their e-bikes, they're a blast, but anybody that has ridden my am1000 and compared it to theirs judged that either theirs is satisfying them just as good and don't need all that much more, or loved the extra kick. Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

On their website it says they are "48V/21Ah with 78pcs Samsung3500mA cell". Probably the older Alibaba posts might still have this "old" (mis)information; a quick search reveals that on the same advertisement it is stated: "48V/21Ah with 78pcs Samsung 3500mA cells" "48V/21Ah with 78pcs Samsung/LG 35...
