Re: Ryobi 40v's - What works and doesn't.
Have you done the rebalancing effort on one of the "scrapped" Ryobi batteries? Also could you share your connection method? Did you get a 3D printed part from ebay and wire them that way? I ordered some of those scrapped batteries at a great price last year but a porch pirate made off with...

Re: 5 min EV battery swap system ..a new angle ?
That is neat that they have a working system with Uber already, I had not heard that yet. I am also guessing that the charging at home/on the road option would still be available because you can't have one of these swap out stations on every corner. It is potentially a fantastic value for someone th...

Re: 40T, neodymium magnets, plasti dip cycle test
Now we are talking. This is what I personally have been waiting for in this thread. i.e.- a higher power capacity/maximum safe amperage test from someone that knows how to do it. I was really impressed by the NESE video that showed very high amp discharge continuous on a paint shaker to show its res...

Re: Tomos Sprint conversion
Really tidy finished product. Would you use UPP again for a new battery? Obviously a 1500W battery is a different class of battery than some other ones we see on here, but UPP seems to have gotten some mixed reviews. Could be the users are abusing the crap out of the battery by letting it get wet or...

Re: Tool battery (Makita) mounts for ebikes
Seriously awesome work there. I'd love to see a build thread on your custom power tool batteries. For folks that have a few toys and don't rely on them for commuting, I still think having swappable power tool brick batteries is a great option. Not to mention you can rely on your tools to last much l...

Really taking shape, jealous off your workshop too. My first thought on the NaOH on the fork was make it a thick slurry and paint it on with a brush and wipe off after 5-10 minutes. Ideally less mess and more control over where it touches. I'd get some elbow length gloves before doing it though, aci...

Re: Upgrading a Nitro ECO Tiger 1300W 48V
Haven't seen anyone try to upgrade this type of dirt bike yet, but I am very interested since it looks like that is available in several countries and has better components than Razor or some of the other toys. First impressions about putting more voltage through the system is you will blow your con...

Re: Need some input on this controller for turnigy lipo/80100
I don't think your picture attached, can't see it. Broad advice for lipo is the same around here usually: Keep the cells as closely balanced as you can, keep them protected from puncture. If you aren't using them for some period of time (several weeks or months) don't store them fully charged. Your ...

Re: Electric Minibike Conversion
I think the chain and the MY1020 motor keeps that classic look and they come with a mounting bracket already welded on. The chain might be a bit noisier than hubs but I think it would be a touch cheaper too. I mean is the goal a fun toy or a legit vehicle you need to be as comfortable and reliable a...

Re: CA3 throttle output voltage not changing
Throttle is most definitely in pass thru mode. Have not been successful in getting a response through the CA from the throttle to the controller. Throttle will spin the motor when directly connected to the controller and the signal voltage goes up and down with it. Is there another setting that migh...

CA3 throttle output voltage not changing
I have changed the min throttle output voltage and the max. The screen shows the throttle changing position so I know that is working. But when probing the signal and ground on the CA throttle out, the voltage isn't changing. I have a stand alone shunt that I am using. The throttle seems to be in pa...

Re: QSmotor 8kw, how big battery needed?
Short answer: yeah maybe 70Ah would be a good start, probably wouldn't get you 100 miles on a full sized motorcycle because they are heavy. Here's a DIY build to show some of the work involved with a smaller motorcycle https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=105659#p1546035 Longer answer: ...

Re: Any of you use T12 tips for soldering connectors? Which tips do you use?
I ended up getting a C4 tip and that helped me a lot with the larger gauge wire and xt90 ends. Larger surface area for contacting all that metal. I'll have to see if I can find the series but I found a training video from a company that showed how to perfectly set those cups in xt60 and xt90 with so...

Re: Mini Moto Build
Wow, that is a ton of photos. Good work, did you test your set up before everything was mounted and connected on the bike? Certainly don't have to but sure makes troubleshooting a lot easier when all the wires are laid out in front of you.
Looks like it will be a blast to ride once it is complete.

Re: Mini Moto Build
That is a bit busy. You might have to reach out to the vendor for some advice. On my cheap chinese controller, the wire labelled "electric door lock" needed to see the full voltage from the battery to turn on. I spliced a small gauge wire from the main battery line into it and that woke it...

Re: Tool battery (Makita) mounts for ebikes
I like how it looks simple and compact. I personally am a fan of powertool or module options. A little less initial cost for trying out this hobby or swapping between vehicles. Also, great idea making them mountable to the bottle cage mounts on most frames. Initial reaction is your price seems just ...

Re: 40T, neodymium magnets, plasti dip cycle test
I am pretty interested in this concept. I know there is a majority here that say just get a spot welder but this offers more flexibility in swapping out a bad cell and doesn't need specialized tools to assemble. Additionally, if you were to change the shape of the battery for another application or ...

Re: The don of Razor e300's dual 6374 + vesc 6.6
Here's a little calculator to help with power and gear selection. I think you'll have to put a fudge factor on there for efficiency losses, maybe something like 80% of the listed numbers. 18mph seems a bit low for the power and wattage, seems like you would be closer to 30. https://electricscooterpa...

Found a new wholesaler for used lithium. Wondering if anyone had purchased cells from Batteryclearinghouse.com
Their prices seem pretty reasonable although most descriptions state the cells are estimated at ~80% capacity.
