Ok. I have only one question: how many chain links are you running on that beast?
Lots of lots of them... probably at least 50% over a normal chain length... I should count it

Re: My Cyclone 3000 direct drive build

Reguarding this build: Why not put the motor inside the triangle and mount the battery below the downtube or in the backpack? Two reasons- 1) I wanted to get rid of the clutches and tensioner to make the bike more reliable and quite. The only way to do that is to align the motor axis along with the...

My Cyclone 3000 direct drive build

Motor mount was made from 6mm/3mm aluminium cut with CNC. The motor chainring was increased to 26T to reduce chain stress. With the narrow wide chainring the chain doesnt fall even on rough terrain. The motor is coupled with a Phase runner (which was hell to set up) and pulls about 45A with a 20s ba...

Mid drive heat dissipation - water cooling?

Hi, I run a BBSHD with an external controller. I used to run it at 3KW, but recently found out that 60 amps at 84V is loads of fun! The only problem is that the motor gets really hot. I have attached a few heat sinks on the bottom of the motor, but it still gets hot. Thought about attaching a PC wat...

Cyclone 3000 un-smooth throttle response

Cyclone 3000 throttle response with stock controller is very un-smooth. Not suitable for off road, the bike can throw you off of it if you'll ride while standing. Is there a solution? Another controller maybe? Tried Phase runner, but it can't read the encoder, and not sure if will improve the thrott...

Cyclone 3000 waterproof connector issues

I got a Cyclone3000 with the waterproof connectors, seen in the image.
The problem is I want to use a different controller than the stock one, so I need make a new cable that can connect to the motor.
does anyone know the name of this connector? Or the pinout (encoder signals, supply etc...)

Thanks!

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

Hi Endrew, I can't agree with your comment that torque sensing is a "very bad" way to control an e-bike. You may have ridden one or more bikes controlled by PAS (Cadence sensing) or even badly programmed torque sensing control, and formed the impression that it is a bad method to control an e-bike....

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

The reason it sells so good is that the eu standard makes it mandatory...

And if you bike are ment for offroad riding, this is avery bad methode for contrling the power since you need to be standing up most of the time

well, one might say that my pedal power is amplified by infinity!

You think your pedaling adds something noticeable to 5KW?

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

I don't understand people who want a 3KW system as a "pedal assist". I you want to pedal get a 250-500W electric system. it will be much lighter, cheaper and more efficient.

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

In general, power is RPM X Torque. So if two motors generate the same torque, but one do it at double the speed, it will also generate twice the power.

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

the chain version is longer, hence better ground clearance, and quieter. On the other hand less compact. It may also require less maintenance.

Re: Setting maximum current - battery vs phase

The Phaserunner self protects, if it gets too hot, it cuts power. Set the peak phase amps to protect your motor, as that can burn out. I found 40A continuous to be pessimistic. Only ever hit it when I stored it in a bag with no additional heat sinking. Facing the heat sink side forward so it gets w...

Setting maximum current - battery vs phase

Hi,
I have a Phase Runner, And to my understanding it can handle 40A continuous phase current. However, I need to limit the battery current (also), so, how can I know what is the maximum battery current that's safe for this controller?
BTW, I use it with a BBSHD.

Thanks!

For 74V, just set the Kp and Ki values to 1 and 10 (see image). You can use larger values for lower voltages.

Cycle Analyst shows inaccurate battery voltage reading

I have a 20 cell battery (74 nominal). When fully charged the voltage is 84V as measured with a DVM (Digital voltmeter), however, the cycle analyst indicated 85V. This is also the case at lower voltages. Is there a way to correct this? Iv seen no voltage calibrating method in the CA manual... Thanks!

Re: Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

you dont need a CA for the auto tune. just the communication cable and the free software.
