Re: Conversion of a Bultaco Sherpa
I say B+ cable attaches to NC. The port that goes into the controller is raised and has a red grommet. The screw has a witness mark on it so its tightened by Kelly already. The other bolt is probably loose and goes into a blind hole in the case ie NC

Re: KDX 20.0 cells trailbike conversion
The problem with fitting a clutch comes from trying to package cylinders of various diameter and length into a finite space. The countersprocket position is set in stone. I'm having real trouble coming up with a way of having a jackshaft arrangement incorporating a clutch. Using an existing gearbox ...

very nice work! You can get 1/2 links for the chain. I think this roller tensioner idea is interesting:
https://www.renold.com/products/accessories/roll-ring/
did you get good news about the motor being built and any progress on the controller/s?

Will the light bee motor be ok with 24S battery? I read that Luna melted some motors down and wonder what the actual limits of the motor are. Isn't the storm bee 96V and does that equate to 24S?

This is sort of tangential to most of the activity here on ES but maybe others use these big battery chargers on golf carts and other wet cell projects. I had bought a used 24 volt manlift at auction. The onboard charger flashed error codes and didnt charge. I was going to start a thread here to ask...

Re: Display for 72v BAC8000?
Every single controller manufacturer abhors the DIYer market, actively discourages us from trying to do what we do using their stuff. An OEM seeking multiple containers, or at least pallet quantities presumably does get support but that's on an engineer to engineer shorthand level. Do you know of a...

These guys got closer with the denzel gearbox unit in a KX chassis. The clutch and shifter functions are still really crude. I don't speak the language but sort of understand what they are getting at in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmtPCi1UIws&t=587s&ab_channel=StolzUser&fb...

It's is the stock wheel, not sure what you mean about safety thing. Ok thanks for the details. the safety thing is the extra ridge they put on some moto wheels to retain the bead on a tubeless setup. obviously not necessary with your setup. I didnt know that rim pins can be used until i saw some ol...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike
Sup y'all! So after over 2,300 tubeless miles it was time to replace my trusty Bridgeport M403 with the newer M203. The first tubeless conversions I had to use a strap around the tire to get enough of a seal for the tire to inflate. It really was the most pain-in-the-ass task in the whole procedure...

After running the 19 rear wheel with a geomax knobby for a year I wanted to try a 18 as the 19 has small knobs and puny sidewall. I followed offroaders nice write up and bought some supplies. Apparently, all ebay 12g sapim spokes are not created equally. 20210103_191251.jpg the hook portion of these...

I have started to wonder if using a Motenergy split stator motor would make things easier to reach the 200# powerful dirtbike result utilizing somewhat affordable battery and controller offerings. In my digging I found that DanGT has the same thoughts! :thumb: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewt...

Re: Build a controller for an Alta OEM motor and inverter?
I played a little with the working bike to see what happens to the motor position data when I spin the rear wheel. The number goes from 0 up to 65,535 then again to 0. The description field says "Accumulated motor position, 256/revolution" 256 x 256=65536 Not sure what that means.... I gue...

Re: KTM 200 exc goes electric
I was thinking that those motors have two separate stators, each 3 phase that you could hook separate controllers onto. Arlo might have done 2 controllers with a Zero motor, which i think is the same design, albeit waterproof. obviously, my understanding is lacking here

I think it is odd, there are motors available. But no controllers :? And qs seems to have their 180 90h motor more or less finished (maybe, who knows?), but dont seem to release it as they dont have a controller for it. They dont seem to sell it without controller either though, so I wonder how fin...

Thanks! In learning more about the qs motors I'm leaning towards the 4000 Watt version +/- the votol 150 controller. The votol 200 doesn't generate any positive info in my research. The integral gear reduction looks interesting but is obviously untested still. Radio silence so far. Not sure if 2.5:1...

2 years later update: no progress! (That's not entirely true as now I have a bunch of spare parts to work with.) I ended up using those panasonic prismatics in one of my zero motorcycles and they work great. In the meantime I have bought and maxxed out a light bee and found an Alta. The KDX had been...
