Re: Observed trials bike designing

I'm a yes vote in favor of the clutch. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

If it works it will multiply the number of controllers that you can choose from. No need to wait for expensive unobtainable ones.

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

Other than cost, is there any downside to having the controller potted? One place I ride has a river crossing where if I fell over, the controller would be partially submerged briefly. Would that destroy the controller?

Re: Observed trials bike designing

I measured the space available on my crf150r to install an electric motor onto the engine case. 100 mm diameter is all the room available. I think that limits the selection of motors pretty severely unless you space it far to the left to gain more clearance. Another option would be to move the motor...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

It's supposed to be a 16s 60 volt battery, right? I'm wondering, too if you were sent a pack for the 48 volt bikes. What did the packaging look like as far as warning labels etc? I would try to return it and get a new one. Failing that, I would open it up and post here with pictures to get advice ho...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Can someone tell me plz what this connector is good for, maybe how the wiring works there and if I need this connection to go to my sabvoton 72200 controller. That would help a lot, the sur-ron wiring diagram is not the best. Cheers guys hi did you find a answer ? best regards There is a 12v signal...

Fantastic first post!

KTM: What cells are you using? How is the throttle response with that controller?

Surron: How much does it weigh? What cells are you using? Steel link for the shock linkage?

Re: sur ron diy battery

I tried disconnecting the plug on mine and it gives a communication error code on the display along with the battery warning light and 0 volts on the display. There was no voltage coming from inside the battery but there is voltage running into that plug from the bike (pack voltage) The controller i...

Re: sur ron diy battery

Maybe it monitors battery temperature and it thinks the battery is overheated when the connector is unplugged. I'm sure someone has disassembled the wiring and know what those circuits are monitoring. Does your display show any error codes?

What BMS did you use?

Re: Another GasGas trials bike conversion

I need to play with the tuning more but so far I have a pretty abrupt engagement at 0 mph/0 % throttle. The SR controller is smoother than the older AXE controller in this regard. I have a domino and a magura throttle but I need to compare them more to say if one is better than the other. Domino is ...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

The CRF forks are working great. Most of the theoretical problems with this swap are non-issues in my riding environment. I want a stable motorcycle feel rather than a twitchy mountainbike feel and, not surprisingly, the crf forks provide that. Steep descents are especially more friendly now. The CR...

Re: Another GasGas trials bike conversion

I've been doing a fair amount of research the last two weeks. In between family and work and everything else as usual. After evaluating various motors and controllers, I'll most likely be using a brushed, air-cooled, series wound DC motor and a non-regen controller. In particular, the Motene...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

I'm just doing some Sur Ron R&D here, nothing is irreversible. 15 pounds heavier rake goes from 24 degrees to 27 wheelbase increased from 49 inches to 50 Riding it feels pretty good initially. Cockpit ergonomics improved significantly for the stand-up style I prefer. I can feel the weight difference...

onto my new Sur Ron with the DNM forks. Same 19 inch wheel but more travel, weight and brakes. is this a waste of time and effort? I have not ridden my bike much to know if the forks even need upgrading but I am coming at this as a dirtbike rider rather than a bicycle rider. oh sorry I just read th...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

My offroad research this weekend leads me to believe that an increased rake angle for this bike might actually be a good thing in some scenarios. Very steep downhills were hairy as this is a small bike and it was difficult as a tall rider to get far enough rearward. It might also increase stability ...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

Yes I was talking about the harescrambles application where you get constant rocks, ledges, edges, roots and logs. A couple more inches of properly valved travel might allow you to plow through more of this stuff more plushly without getting jarred and worn out over a couple of hours. Not talking ab...
