Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Headlight circuit? I tried to wier up my 6VDC LED headlight, and it seems like the headlight circuit has a current limiter. 48v 750W+LCD3 v0.190 FW. My light draws about 1.5A @6VDC. When I connect it to the light circuit the light flashes, but will not stay lit. Does anyone know if there is a curre...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

I tested the TSDZ2_Controller_vM0.16.D_and_TSDZ2_Configurator_Beta_0.2.0 firmware with a VLCD5: When switching to street/offroad mode by pressing the lights/power button 2 times in eco mode it switched between modes (err03/err04) but there was no change and the motor always stopped working over 25k...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Looks like we are all suffering from the overheating issue. I recently installed the temp sensor, and was a little disappointed to find the 'E06' showing on the LCD, after only going a short distance (Turbo setting) and when the ambient temp was only app 20C. I raised the temp cut out from 75C to 8...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Does anyone have good instructions for installing the temperature sensor on the 8 wire version. I just got my replacement motor and don't want to burn up this one also. Last time I tried to install i think i ended up splicing into the wrong wires as it acted like ebrake was activated when sensor wa...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Here in Boston we just had the hottest July on record, so I took it upon myself to do a thermal management mod for the TSDZ2. I was routinely having to dial back my assist usage to stay below 75C on my 23 mile (37km) round trip commute so I decided I would do something about the TSDZ2's awful therm...

BMS is a common failure point, as many are cheaply made. I am extremely picky about BMSed battery packs for this reason..
@neptronix...

Please advise what constitutes a 'good' BMS, and where do you suggest is a good source to purchase.

Re: The E-bike battery and a tale of perseverance...

Hate to say it but you never ruled out a bad cell as being a problem. What happens when one cell goes kaputz is that the nearby cells often overcompensate by being of higher voltage. So your multimeter may have missed a key piece of information by measuring 3 cells in series. You are correct of cou...

The E-bike battery and a tale of perseverance...

************ Warning, this is a long story, only for the very bored. Read it at your own risk. ************ I recently had an interesting learning adventure with my e-bike. The (long) story begins some time ago... A year or more ago, I built my 52v TSDZ2 with 52v 17Ah 14s battery. Now, I didn't real...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Here is the programming cable I made.
Approx 100mm long.
Using the ribbon cable plug avoids any chance of incorrect connection.
Connecting to the laptop using USB extension cable.

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

Well done @Stancecoke. One of the hurdles us mere mortals face is finding the information to accomplish the numerous steps required to flash the motor controller. The information is there, but spread over multiple pages of various forums, and often not in a language the user can read. I believe your...

I programmed my TSDZ2 today using Marcoq firmware and 'Configurator'. All went ok (except throttle is either 'Off' or 'On', no in between). I made the programming cable below from a 10 conductor ribbon cable and spare 'wheel speed sensor' cable. Cable length about 100mm. Connected it to the motor vi...
