Re: Building battery from MAKITA Konion PACK

HI i purchased opus bt c 3100 and got all my cell out of the makita packs . It did keep the 2,5v and more. Now , before choosing which cells to put in parallele with which , it seems i need to know their capacity. I have a need for clarity about what mode i need to use and what current because it s...

Re: are my cell soldering drawings ok building a battery expandable

HI the risks of being steal are high and i dont want to carry a large battery around. I dont care much about life spaw since i wont use it a lot. as long as the cell stay equal it is fine with me. So apart from making just one battery is there a better way to build a separable battery than my 2 bms ...

Re: are my cell soldering drawings ok building a battery expandable

hi, could you review my last drawing with a the Y connection? I also would need advice on the type and gauge wire i should use. at leats 60 tp100amps maybe? i think i will use xt60 connector since they are cheap and can handle from 60 to 150 amps according to reviews. Also my last post felt between ...

Hi everyone, Are you available check at the drawings i did? I have a need for knowledge to know where to do the soldering in order that i can use a bms with 4p 13 battery that has the possibility to get a second 4p 13s battery to it for longer rides(8p13s total when combined). If i succed in this ba...

Re: Building battery from MAKITA Konion PACK

I still have to wait a bit for some to let them macerate to see if they are god or bad apples.

would a 2week wait after charge be sufficient to separate the good from the bads?

Re: Building battery from MAKITA Konion PACK

Hi

when you suggest to regroup the batteries into like 4 to 4.05 , 4.05 to 4.10 , 4.10 to 4.15, 4.15 to 4.19,

do you mean that all 4.00 to 4.05 should be put in a same paralle groupe or that the shoud be in spreaded in equal number in each paralelle groups ?

Re: Which motor and battery for touring rinding with some hills

If I was going to do a cheap build for myself I'd get a 1000w hub motor laced in a small 20 inch wheel and then control it with a RC 60amp vesc 6, If the motor has a temp sensor you can monitor motor and mosfet temp's and reduce power accordingly, Can have a mappable throttle and drive it upto 12s ...

Re: notions to consider choosing charger, noob

By buying a pack about 20% bigger than you need you get double the value. hum that is weel thought! could i like use a 54.6v(13s) charger on a 14 s? would it be safe? with 14s (normally 58.8v) if i charge with a 13 s charger it would equal 54.6 divided buy 14 =3.9v idont mind loosing 1cell speed.

with a non adjustable battery charger, is it reallly bad to always have to do a full charge a t 4.2v or it is still fine . How dramatic would the liife span be shortened? i would at least use a bms to low cut off

Re: will this bms be reliable and compatible?

I understand that by choosing a separate port there will be less heat issue . the negatif part to choosing a separate port is that the charging limit is only 8 amps.... opposed to 60amps Is it really bad to have a charging maximal limit of 8 amp? doyou guy ever charge higher than that? in what circu...

Re: notions to consider choosing charger, noob

I would be hesitant to build a 'modular' pack. It's better to keep cells that are being used in series permanently grouped so they continue to to maintain similar capacity and internal resistances aver their life span. This will lead to the best performance and safest operation of the pack. if i us...

Re: notions to consider choosing charger, noob

It might work for you to make two 7s packs, and then run 7s on the chair, but connect both in series to run the bike. This would allow you to use one, or even two 8s RC chargers instead of a 48v charger. These chargers can adjust voltage and rate of charge, so you can easily do 4v per cell charge o...

Re: will this bms be reliable and compatible?

Also since the charge control MOSFETs have to pass the full discharge current, you need more of them, so the board will need to be physically larger. Most of the time, the BMS isn't doing anything and just passes the current from the battery to the controller. Only when cell voltages exceed the set...
