Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

That one looks nice and easy to mount. Where did you find it? I have this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0197ZQLBA/

It is also very bright! It truly does consume 30W and probably puts out 3600 lm or so, as advertised.

Re: SUR-RON X-Controller

Just confirming.... I have an X-controller without regen. You want one without? I actually want one WITH regen, since I ride on the road and want more range.... I'm in the US

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I upgraded my brake pads to Shimano H03C metallic pads with heat sinks. These are a huge improvement over the stock pads, especially on long descents where the stock pads would fade severely. From what I've heard, just about any pads will be an improvement from the stock. Img_1158.jpg Great! Do the...

I find the bike crazy fast, especially with a 60t sprocket. Oh but this bike is ASI powered 72v
You went 107 kph using a 60T sprocket and 72V? wow. That's a huge difference. Normally, the 60T would only go about 60 kph on 60V, right?

Also, 6.6s 0-60 mph run is pretty damn good too!

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Just picked up a Sur Ron, got delivered yesterday. Rode it around a bit today, and boy in the stock configuration this thing is a dog. I was definitely expecting a bit more power. Surprising... I thought it was pretty quick stock, and I didn't gain much with the X controller. What is your top speed...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

So, if the main battery runs out of power you want to attach the mini battery? You get more range when you connect both batteries at the beginning..... less v sag, more range. True. I was thinking mainly as a reserve, in case you misjudge your range and need just a little more range to get home. Pl...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Has anyone tried a 52V battery with the Sur Ron? Does it work with the stock or X controller? I'm not sure if there is a low voltage cutoff set in the controller. It might be nice to carry a spare mighty mini battery in your backpack in case your main battery runs out!

I was going to ask that too. Where do you fit 3 kwHr on a Sur Ron? I can see 2 kwHr in the stock case with GA cells... But 3?

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Do you have to switch out the stock display to be able to use the BAC-4000? I would prefer to keep the stock L1e display if possible. Also, stock battery is 1920Wh if I'm not wrong, while mine is 3000Wh (even though a bit higher), so I think it should be good. I don't think the l1e Sur Ron has a di...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

There's also a wire that can be cut that restricts the speed. I think to 30 mph in the latest x bikes? Gearing that down might get you there.

Re: CSC City Slicker

New review posted! Looks like they increased the power to Sur Ron levels. That probably helps a lot. Although, it's still 100 lbs heavier! $1000 less, though.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Neat! Would be even better with the supermoto wheels and tires, although I'm not sure if they are rated for 70 mph! I checked, the front tire is p speed rated, up to 93 mph. Though, I'm not sure how well balanced the tires are with tubes. It might vibrate too much before you get to that speed. The ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I think buying the x bike might be worth it. You get a few other improvements for not much more money. it definitely doesn't make any sense to buy the x controller separately to upgrade a stock bike.

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Luna is now separately selling the X Controller with regen: https://lunacycle.com/sur-ron-model-x-sine-wave-controller/ I don't think they have regen. I bought one, paid full price ($525) and it doesn't have regen. Also, very little increase in power over stock. Stock was 77 amps, X controller is 8...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

One thing I do notice is the bike is pretty loud. People will definitely think you are riding around a gas powered bike, its pretty damn loud and everyone looks. Hopefully the belt drive will help with this. I wonder if it is loud enough to slowly do hearing damage. You can pick up one of these Qui...

Re: CSC City Slicker

The nice thing about the City Slicker is it has a street legal VIN. But they didn't put quite enough into it to make it better than an outlaw ebike. I need 55 mph to compete with a gas scooter like the Honda PCX. The street legal VIN is nice. And storage! Also, unclear if it has an on-board charger...

Re: CSC City Slicker

Did anyone get one? I couldn't wait and ended up getting a Sur Ron from Luna. I hope CSC sells enough to keep that bike up on their roster.
