How much power are you running?
Peak power is only around 3kw. But drivetrain stress is determined not so much by power, but by torque and how fast that torque comes on.
I guess it's the extra phase current you have. I haven't seen any of that wear with the stock controller.

N2mb do you have this battery ? And what you use it with ?
I don't have it, but I've thought about getting it to use with the BAC 855. The Samsung 40T cells put out huge amps (35/45A peak each), so it should have plenty of power for the BAC 855 or stock Gen 2 controller.

Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w

Looking at batteries for a gen 2, can anyone provide me advice on what type of connector the battery should have? I see the Anderson Powerpole is a common one available online. I'd like to be able to remove the battery from the bike easily so I can bring it inside to charge. Thanks Just get a hailo...

Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w

Why do you not use the standard cyc controller for those kind of power requirement? I am very close to getting one of these kits with the standard controller for mostly PAS use and some throttle for fun up the hills I have the gen 1 kit and the gen 1 controller is pretty bad. You can't use the thro...

Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w

Yes Tangent is expensive for sure but if it's quicker off the mark then it is worth it :) A comparison vid would be great If you want fast, get the CYC with the BAC 2000 controller. Big power. But, you have to figure out where to mount the controller.. I am actually at a stage where I have as much ...

Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w

Sadly a RC controller is still the most reliable fastest response controller available for this drive. It is more reliable than the mechanical hardware. My RC esc has uncontrolled phase current, and the latest hardened 219H 11T sprocket deforms and wears extremely quickly even though the controller...

Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w

If you want fast, get the CYC with the BAC 2000 controller. Big power I don't want fast, or at least don't care what top speed is. But I still need as much torque / power at low rpm (amps) as possible. So the BAC 2000 still gives a huge advantage there, right? What about compared to Nuc 24 ? Precis...

Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w

This entire kit is very appealing. I'd love to see a side by side of this vs tangent The gen 1 controller sucks, but hopefully the gen 2 is getting better. But, I love the level of integration with the stock CYC controllers. They allow very tidy and neat installs. The firmware and app are getting m...

I'm currently using the 3220 with a castle hv120 through a ca3...tangent kit and its a blast Neat! That's what he was using. You could do the same thing with the X1 pro. But, I am planning to try the ASI BAC 855 so that I can use 72V. I already have too much torque, I could use more motor speed so ...

I don't quite know how you can easily convert the analog e-bike throttle signal to a PWM servo signal, but I messaged the person I know that did it... I mean, you could use a microcontroller, but that's a pain.

Why would you want to use that motor rather than the X1 motor that fits directly?

My cyc 72v controller won't pull more than 35-40a on flat ground, 72v battery. I have all settings on max. Does anyone else have this?
My gen 1 controller would easily pull 65A 52V when accelerating. Once you are up to speed, the amps are always going to drop off.

Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w

Aren't those controllers low-powered compared to the full motor amps capacity? 3500 watts peak. About as much as my bike frame and powertrain can handle. I'm already getting skipping on the rear cassette. Other people have pushed the motors to 5 kW and even 9 kW. The BAC2000 on 72V seems like a goo...

Don't use the throttle. It is not safe. It will eventually blow up your controller. I've destroyed two controllers using the throttle to start from a dead stop. Use PAS only with the gen 1 stock controller. Is your PAS working? Hey n2mb, i did use the throttle, and i tried to start from a dead stop...
