Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Sorry, i think casainho is already mad at me, that was not my intention :-( My scope of the whole project is to get a motor that outperforms many other commercial systems out there. And i think all the developers involved till now have already made that possible. I love how my bike performs (and i'm...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

h Since the project is to run TSDZ2 with feature rich displays like 850C and SW102 Bluetooth, what I think should happen: 1. Motor controller starts up and the variables have unknown values, only the variable invalid_varables is 1. 2. System waits until invalid_variables is 0. 3. Once first configu...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Would you mind if I rewrite the motor controller with just runtime variables? As the motor controller should default to some pre-configured values and only change those values when receiving parameters from the display. It would make no difference for the development of the other displays but would...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I think the motor should be runnable without a display after setting these parameters up once. Technically that would be possible but would also compromise the implementation of future new features as also possible need corrections/maintenance of current features (for the reasons I did explain). Cu...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

- there is absolutely no need to store the configurations on the motor controller, instead, the LCDs as 850C has 16x times more memory (512 kbytes VS 32 kbytes) and so they can store it without any worry I don't think so. There are some config-variables that are always the same and you don't need t...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

In my oppinion, the displays are means for the purpose. I agree. I prefer to have no display at all. I live in a flat area, with a torquesensor based sytem, there even is no need to change the assist level :D Setting up the system with a display and just three buttons to edit the parameters?! :shoc...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

The logic was inverted from the beginning and some users reported that it was complicated. It should be easier to understand Street Mode and how it operates. yes, i saw the discusion about that. And yes, the new logic is better now. The best part is, that this limits are not set in the motor contro...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Please regard, that in Germany the maximum average power is limit on 250 W. Most of the OEM pedelecs (Bosch, Yamaha, ...) have peak power up top 500 W and more. Yes, you are right. But i already got in trouble because some officers don't get the "peak power" calculation and just see the Power-Meter...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Hm, i do not understand the intention of the "street-mode" after the changes >18.0. How do you use your bike? For me, most of the time i'm on the public streets where (at least in germany) you are not allowed to get assistance over 25 km/h and have to limit the power to 250 watts. Of course, cruise-...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Since my KT LCD3 died, is it possible to enable the TSDZ2 by simply connecting "green|P+|battery voltage" to "white|Vin|ground when LCD disabled and P+ (battery voltage) when LCD is enabled"? https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/TSDZ2_wiki/wiki/Wire-KT-LCD3-to-TSDZ2 I think it does not work...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

- Cruise function (BETA) : this is a great new function for those days you need kind of a “virtual throttle”. When at speeds above 8 km/h or around 5 mph simply hold down the DOWN button and the bike will do the rest. The speed will automatically be maintained. Feedback controller firmware. Great f...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Motor without a display would be nice. The current problem is that the configuration is not split up in a persistent and a runtime-part. I opened a ticket for that on github and trying to implement it by myself. But i have not much spare time and the code is complex :-) -> https://github.com/OpenSou...

Anyone else have this issue...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

beta2. Haha that was fun. When you start peddling it gives you a massive boost, but the fun part (and scary) is that it would run on for about 2 seconds despite I had stopped pedaling. Reminded me of my old PAS bike. whow, that was the same experience i had with the "official" 0.14.3 version i repo...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

hm, ok. old code..

im still confused. STM8 Datasheet says we have 10 Bit ADCs. Align is set to left, so we have 8 bits in ADC1_DBxL and 2 bits in the ADC1_DBxH register. The old code got the full 10Bit-Value but the current one is only reading the ADC1_DBxH registers, right?

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Hi, still searching for my strange effect on my bike. While reading the code i got confused about the function torque_sensor_read. This one is used to write the current (mapped) torque value to ui8_torque_sensor which is used to calculate ui8_pedal_human_power which is used to calculate ui8_adc_batt...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Oh, eeprom_write_if_values_changed (void) is commented out, so every new value from the LCD gets never written to the eprom of the Motor? The Motor always runs with the vars temporary added by the LCD while "online".. hmm, ok :)

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

HI all, i have a strange effect on a complete clean install to 0.14.3. No option was changed after installation. 48V Motor, 48V Battery. The motor starts to rotate already with a slightly touch the pedals. Riding on the smallest assist-level (set to 400W) is like "no need to pedal". It seems that my...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I think we should go in the direction like the Bafang Motors. With the shipped LCDs, the user can only alter some basic settings like wheel circumfence, speed-limit and so on. For extended settings, which are endless with the new firmware, should be altered by some sort of tool. This could be an And...
