Re: Vector bike and frame owners.

I did finally have the only local bike shop pump some air into the forks and they dropped a lot. Fact, prefer them way they were the height I liked. Although wasn’t any fun on a event trail when the forks bottomed out and struck the fairing. . :D All was ok. NB. I know the forks should have had air ...

Re: In over my head with an unbalanced 14S5P battery

You say you got the lower cell groups up to 4.2v? Insure that they are at 4.2v with a full capacity charge; full amount of amp hour. Want to start to view voltages higher than 4.2v insure this. Then if possible disconnect the BMS, to insure that nothing could drain your pack. Allow your pack to sit ...

Very nice build love the drop out from the main frame to increase battery pack size. What’s your pack details beyond 200 cells?

Re: Vector bike and frame owners.

Thanks Artur, found after a few rides and a change of shorts/material -also jeans are best- my ass slipped less and less with the seat now at slight lower angle from more use rather than any adjustment. However, I will flip the bracket just to try a lower suspension setting. The saddle is definitely...

Re: Battery performance dropped off in 2013 Stealth Bomber

Bit the bullet and buy a multi meter and test each cell group. Then if the pack is out of balance bit the bullet again and buy a smart BMS, with remote cell group voltage monitor and ability to set a lower top end voltage. Doesn’t Stealth offer such a smart BMS on their bikes? 10k for a dumb ass BMS...

This able to be flipped to lower the suspension? Also the DNM forks are they fixed at a set air pressure, or able to vary the air pressure to push the handle bars higher from the ground? Problem is my butt slides forward at low speed. Taken this Sunday, glad I stopped traffic police were sitting in ...

Anyone bought from these guys?

https://megacellcharger.com/

Won’t go into the fine details yet, however, didn’t get any communication until a Paypal dispute was open.

Now await tracking data as the first order was they claim shipped to my billing address address rather than shipping address.

Re: Vector bike and frame owners.

That’s a monster battery any additional data on its build? How does it handle during a charge? I got my beauty on the road sometime ago. However, temporary 52v 14s 10p pack built from batteryblocs. Just gathering the parts to build from cell holders a 14s 18p in two 7s blocks then later up to 21s. I...

Re: Custom 5kW Vector (QS 205v3/Kelly/DNM)

Nice battery pack build.

Did that Malelectrics spot welder have any issues with .2mm nickel?

I’ve since had a prototype metal box built and reduced the battery pack size to 360 cells or 20s 18p. Yet to be final.

Keep us all up to date on the performance of these cells.

Re: Custom 5kW Vector (QS 205v3/Kelly/DNM)

Definitely considered glue rather than spacers. I like the idea of maximum air flow, ability to install a fan or two. Around my way ambient summer temps up to 30-40c isn’t unheard of. The plan is to draw less than 1 amp per individual cell. The weight won’t be a problem the frame is robust and 3” ty...

Great to see some install DIY battery packs into Vector frames.

I’m going for four hundred cells. However, battery containment is the issue. Cannot find anyone that’s already been there it’s to the metal fabricator.

Re: Reducing 55V charger down to 54.6V

Could use a buck transformer see photo.

I’ve increased current in one charger, although never tried to drop the voltage. Inside there should be three trim pots, voltage, current and final current at near end of charge.

Re: Vector bike and frame owners.

Anyone fitted 20s 20p within a Vector Typhoon frame. Actual fact fit 424 cells 20s 21p. Only ask given I’d like some sort of metal containment. Either a complete box or half open one. The cells in their holders appear a snug fit and unsure if the metal work of a box of does increase the size to a po...

Yeah, Mudhuggers, intend to paint them if a suitable plastic paint be found.

The issue with the bolt on the swing arm was easy enough, just reversed the thing. :) Live and learn.

Re: Vector bike and frame owners.

My wheels arrived yesterday :) However, with a spare front hub I couldn’t wait. Had a 26” wheel built. The front 20” rear from an existing bike. Still a few teething issues, the crankset sprocket 48T was too big, then the crankset sprocket (eventual taken from a 20” folder) with set screw tightened ...

Re: Alarm integration with Kelly controller 7230s

Thanks, the link you posted the one I’ve bought and it’s 72v. What stumped me is the 12v feed on the brake lock and the ignition voltage appears 12v. Really require a diagram. There is only one time to get this correct, least in the practical side. Once the actual alarm does arrive I’m sure make mor...

Possible to integrate this alarm with a Kelly controller 7230s?

My main issue is that to utilise a controller tray of a Vector Typhoon, I’m limited in space and the Kelly fit’s perfect.

Re: Is better to charge the battery only to 80%?

I ran on a standard BMS, and changed to 80% charge voltage. Wasn’t long before I were caught out two cells went badly out of balance and the display went from five bars to none. Wasn’t a bad situation finding a very helpful person in a nearby village was able to store my bike. Great conversation sta...
