Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

Mine was unbalanced more, if I remember right ( but only one row, something like 1 - 4.21, 2 - 3.8, rest - 4.19). Maybe leaving on 36V charger for a long time (even after charger led shows fully charged and turns off fans) BMS might be able balance it. When it cuts off can you replug and turn on dis...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

I have same problem with battery. One cell row (series) was always ~0.5V lower. So it hit LVC (<3.0V) faster then other series and BMS cut off whole battery. I was only getting half of capacity. I left on charger for few days, but it was balancing too slowly, almost no effect at all. Then I disconne...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

Work the opensource Software for the new kt lcd4 Display? Maybe without cut the display like the sw102? In limited way (assist level, battery level, speed, error code) can be ported to any display if protocol is known. Maybe new lcd4 has same protocol as lcd3. VLCD protocol - https://github.com/hur...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

What can I say. Windows users like "user friendly" GUI apps with buttons and are scared off by batch files and text file manual edits. Anyway it is not even in question to make or not configurator app, cause it is just few days of work. One day to code, one day to test. I agree documentation is nece...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

@Demion: I'll write a short tutorial how to get started with Netbeans and the editing of the GUI! :D I looked through OSEC.java code. It seems pretty simple to use. I edited few JLabel in Notepad++. It also compiles well without Netbeans using makeJar.bat. I think adding your repository as git subm...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

It is not only basically modifying single file ebike_app.c but actually just changing few functions. 1. add init_default_config() to set default configs that are not configurable with VLCD; 2. change uart_receive_package() & uart_send_package() to support VLCD protocol; 3. config.h just configuratio...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

Hi. I made fork a while ago too. There was no much interest in it, but famichiki tested it, and contacted me in PM recently. If someone interested, I will quote here more information about it. Based on OpenSource-EBike-firmware/TSDZ2-Smart-EBike ( casainho , buba , endlesscadence ) and added TSDZ2 V...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Having runtime variables initialized to a value, not using the EEPROM in any way, minimizing structs and discarding all other instructions needed for the implementation we have today will be the best for programming memory. Again, we actually do not need the EEPROM on the motor controller unless we...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Again, this project is to run TSDZ2 with feature rich LCDs like 850C and SW102 Bluetooth. As there are features yet to be implemented that will bring value to users, this will need memory and everything that does not bring value to users of this project, should be removed. Agreed. That what I meant...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

hm, i still don't get it. The code is already there, why is there a need for another project or somebody to maintain this special scenario? If i get it right, the eeprom is filled with some default variables if the first byte is not "our key". And these variables are loaded at every bootup. As soon...

Re: TongSheng Chainwheel offset - dropped chain

I took the stock adapter, after cutting off the arms, and mated it to a Bafang style offset 42t, the smallest that will fit over the reduction gear housing, by drilling some new holes in the adapter to match the chainring. Is this BBS02 or BBSHD chainring? How big is offset in mm? BBS is 9mm and HD...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I noticed ADC torque sensor calibration min value fluctuates +-5 each start.
Is there downside to increase sample count twice, for example, to 32? As I understand each reading is only 10ms.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I also start using startup without pedal rotation. Never had problems with safety with bike "running away", only pedals are twitching a bit when resting feet on pedal on traffic lights stop. Startup with only pedal rotation is pretty slow, especially on v0.19.0. I vote not to remove this option. Upd...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5

Hi guys. There is a small bug concerning serial communication with the display, this could cause the ebike to malfunction .... I ordered them from bike-discount or bike24 a while ago. I am from EU, shipping from Germany.

Anyone tried using Shimano Steps FC-E6000 crank arms? I tried 175mm and when I tighten they are not moving freely. Original crank arms fit well. I have 73mm bottom bracket. Thanks.

Is there a compiled version of this firmware with VLCD6 support ? I’m not a software developer and would like to flash my motor and use the vlcd6. Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Hi. I dont quite understand how boost works exactly in code or more specifically in what units boost level is measured (should be same factor as assist level?). As I understand assist level is stored x10 value multiplied by pedal power x10 value or pedal torque x10 value (if no cadence rpm) and then...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

As I understand wiki says there is only 2 different motor versions 36V and 48V. But seller (pswpower) specifically states "Supports up to 54.6V input voltage, can't work on 58.4V input voltage".
Sorry, but just to be sure I can still buy 48V version and flash it to support 52V battery? Thanks.

Can someone check what data (what bit is set) is sent from LCD3 to controller when you hold DOWN button to enter cruise mode. I dont have LCD3 to test.
Thanks in advance.
