One failing cell

I see some build-up battery enclosures being developed, and I really like the DIY 3D-printed concepts. I believe it is important for the average rider to be able to replace one failing cell, when the time comes. Since nobody seems to have a way to check for a bad cell without some disassembly and/or...

Re: Is there a way to charge my scooter when I am on the road?

I don't live in a big city and have to drive through rural area where there is no power outlet. Vaporizing2019, Is this a Vespa type of scooter? If so, you should have the storage space needed. Google for: Smaller Gasoline Generators. The smallest of them should be able to charge batteries while yo...

Re: The proper (fastest) way solder 18650 cells

Hi, I procrastinated many weeks about whether or not to solder 18650 batteries. I tried many combinations (solder, wire and flux / acid) to find the quickest method to solder these cells together. I’m pretty proud of the outcome (less than one second contact time and to tear the connection apart yo...

This is a Mike Sandlin GOAT, a homebuilt FAA-legal ultralight glider, with electric power added. In the USA, no license or inspections are needed for the pilot or the aircraft. Re: Magnify Glass vs Jewelry Microscope Magnifier Loupe

the "magnifier" doesn't magnify at all, it shows only 1:1 reality scaled images. :/ The only way to zoom in is to physically put the lens closer to the object, which blurs it out, making it useless as an actual magnifier. Amberwolf, Does the Re-Focus button operate? Can you "zoom in" physically, as...

FWIW, there are not many tire manufacturers making 16" motorcycle tires any more. The rear wheel on that Knight is a 16" size. Well, this guy was just a co-worker, but a somewhat similar story: I did scientific/technical work, which means I had a modern "workbench" with attached light fixtures for the job. It was a "hot bench" operation, which means the night crews used the same workbenches that the dayshift used. I kinda k...

Joe, I like the idea of a battery-powered snow thrower, but the extreme environment that snow throwers must endure seems like a real challenge to the batteries. Re: spoke nipple diameter

Minde, FWIW, you can get dedicated washers to fit various spoke nipples. Check the bike shops locally, or maybe the Internet. The size of the spoke holes in the rim probably won't matter much, using the washers that will exactly fit the nipples. Automotive paste wax will minimize corrosion between t...

There are a number of threads dealing with the torque arm vs dropouts issue. Re: Lots of punctures - replace with solid or puncture resistant

Okay, as for the tire in a tire idea.. Seems like it would have some other problems.. 1) Cut the tire in half, and now you have a gap in the tire, which could shift around and create a bump in your tire.. 2) Don't cut the tire in half, and at low pressure, the inner tire can still shift around.. Wh...

To my post back then, I would only add that you may wish to cut away the tire beads from the inside tire. It may not be necessary, though.
