Can you post rpm/voltage curves ?
Horizontal wind turbines operates between 100 and 200 RPMs
Im working in similar project. I will use ebike controller in regen mode in order to obtain regulated DC voltage (48 V in my case)

I didnt buy the MSU unit (http://www.proud-eagle.com/pro8.asp). I dont have the manual for it.

Maybe you can use an old mouse cable. Yes some computer mouse uses 5 or more wires. I dont know the behavior with temperature.
