Re: tsdz2 torque sensor broken

Yes, I just broke one last week, probably 800 miles on it - cracked at the torque sensor much like mgtroyas's photos above. I'll probably send you an email.

Edit: though you talking about spindles, does that mean you're not replacing that portion?

Re: Bafang SW102 Bluetooth LCD - OpenSource firmware and mobile app

Opened sw102 and about to solder the wires and flash it for the first time. At the moment i have some older 0.19.x version of the firmware on the motor. Can I flash latest 0.19.x sw102 and will it be compatible with the current firmware on the motor? Latest SW102 firmware is only compatible with 0....

Now the KT-LCD3 we have received from PSW Power has a connector which looks the same connector as the Bafung SW102. Does anyone know if the wiring pins are the same as that would be just too convenient, unplug the LCD3 and fit the SW102 ?
Sadly no - different wiring.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

However, I cannot seem to get throttle or pedal assist working... The motor spins slowly in walk assist mode, so I know the motor and controller are ok. Also in the config, i see the throttle value changing when i press the throttle so that is working. FOSS firmware, or original? You get symptoms l...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Τhank's for your reply my friend but the BBSHD is pretty expensive and way over my budget (budget=450-500$ with battery)!! I did a little research and contacted some Greek shops that sell the TSDZ2 snd bbs02 and bbshd and they also told me that the most reliable out of the three is the bbshd and th...

Re: TSDZ2 mid-drive vs Q100CST hub motor?

There is a distinct gear whine with mine that I find slightly irritating. It's not loud , but it's audible. The motor is, IIRC, 3.2kg (3.5kg?), but you will be discarding the bottom bracket, so it adds <3kg. My entire electrification adds about 4kg/9lb to my bike (52V mini-cube battery). It'll go mu...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

What are users of the OSF software doing about their display cables with the alternative displays not using the same connectors as the original? Are you cutting the connector off the original display and soldering that to the new display or is there an option to put a connector compatible with the ...

Re: Bafang SW102 Bluetooth LCD - OpenSource firmware and mobile app

Just a quick post to report I had no problem going from 0.19.11 to 0.19.17 with nrf connect. Some of the chat here made me nervous about updating. Startup is way faster - that's very welcome! Also, MPH works. As a very minor issue the 'mph' label seems to overlap the speed digits. The battery capaci...

Re: Tongsheng tsdz2 Full Suspension Help?

You can do without the bracket. The motor will want to rotate forwards, so rotate it forwards against the frame and then tighten the locknut and it works fine without any anti-rotation bracket. You will probably want to put something between the frame and motor casing, like a bit of old innertube.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

If you want something really light, the " mini cube " batteries are great - I have a 14p2s / 300Wh and it weighs about 1.5kg and fits in a small saddle bag. 300Wh is only about a max of 30 miles / 45km on the road for me, so more like 20m/30km for everyday use (not to punish the pack by full charge/...

Hi! Yesterday I did my best to install the motor on a Trek Fx2 but I was not able to install the back bolt attachment. There is no room for it between the bike chain stays and the bolt support. Is there any alternative? Potential issues if I run the motor without it? The bracket is to counteract th...

ok - new release coming out this week (based on our now merged 850C and SW102 codebases). Anyone have any bugs to report that you haven't mentioned in github? If so, now's a good time ;-) Excellent! Looking forward to it. Will this still be for 0.19, or will it work for 0.20? When I turn on the SOC...

LM35s for temperature sensing

I've wanted to put a LM35 temperature sensor on my motor since I got it. I should be able to simply apply 5V (to left pin when looking at the flat side) and GND (right) and see something around 0.2V (20 * 10mV) on the middle pin at room temperature, right? Because first I ordered 2, then a batch of ...

Re: Best wheel size for TSDZ2 mid-drive?

That would be plenty of range and top end - 28-106 gear inches. I have a minimal battery - 52V 300Wh mini-cube, 3.1lb that fits in a small saddle bag. I get a solid 20 miles out of it on the road, could stretch to 30 if I charge and discharge 100%, which you don't want to do regularly. The battery w...

Re: Best wheel size for TSDZ2 mid-drive?

So I am considering using either a 29" or 27.5" mountain bike. Which is ideal for a TSDZ2 mid-drive if range is my #1 priority? I don't care much about speed (as long as I can go 20mph with some pedaling I'm completely happy). I will be doing mostly gravel riding with some road as well. Pretty much...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

+ Do you think that in future We will be able to purchase displays that are already prepared for the Open source firmware? Maybe an agreement with the manufacturer is required. Re: New build TSDZ2 not working

Well, there is the Maroq firmware (I have no experience with) that uses the default screen but the FOSS controller firmware. Similar to just raising the voltage limit, that's just a flashing job, with no alternate displays or soldering required.

Probably the best is the main FOSS firmware wiki: https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-fir ... e-on-TSDZ2 - the "connect directly" option is the easiest. Follow links from there.

Re: New build TSDZ2 not working

Yes that's your exact problem - the 48V motors will do this with a charged 52V battery. Will pootle along on walk assist, but won't assist when riding. You really need the one of the FOSS firmwares that accepts higher voltage. I'm not sure but I think you can tweak the factory firmware to raise the ...

Sorry if I insist but I am not clear where you want to arrive with emtb. If you want a progressive level the power mode is already perfect, anyone can try it. Just set a high multiplier and you can easily get from a few watts to the maximum. Just look at the wattmeter and you can see the value rise...

I'm sad to I can't try out 0.20, because before I got it flashed I cracked my LCD3 display (so I'm awaiting a new display. Worse I ordered a SW102, which isn't yet ported so I'll either have to wait or try to port myself). In the meantime, when I first heard of the eMTB exponential multiplier I thou...

Sounds promising - I'll order one for sure, and may just limp along with my cracked LCD3 until it's usable. I can see the battery voltage and assist level, so the bike is usable.
