Re: BMS's C-, B- which port to connect and why ?

My BMS is from JBD 14S 60A just like that picture in the 1st post above. There is only B- and C-, so I just use it as is. Recall that someone (electricgod ?) mentioned in that thread somewhere : bluetooth BMS? http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=88676&sid=46653b1f1872e89fef7004...

Re: Can we parallel BMSs to handle high current ?

That thread is already on my read list queue. I will have to go out do things and come back to read it. I really love ES for the endless knowledge it always provides. I soon will have to do some maintenance for my Bafang BBSHD 6000+km & 14S5P LG MJ1 and I will keep ES posted for the benefit of the c...

Re: Can we parallel BMSs to handle high current ?

All I want from this design is to have the liberty to add or remove lithium modules from the main pack and utilise its versatility by design. There are some applications that will benefit from that, and, lead-acid can hardly offer that flexibility, if even possible at all. Actually the fact that le...

Re: LiFePO4 Sources

Actually, we have to import the batteries from somewhere since we do not have lithium factory locally. The assembly works and testing that we can do - but must be according to engineering practices compliance.

Re: Can we parallel BMSs to handle high current ?

#2 is not possible, unless the modules were unified into one big one. The BMS has to connect to each series cell connection in order to actually do its job. So if you have 3 modules and want to use 1 BMS, all the modules would have to be connected at the cell level. Effectively making them 1 big mo...

LiFePO4 Sources

Can anyone point me out where to buy quality / reasonable price for LiFePO4, especially bigger prismatic cells like 100Ah & up ? China is also acceptable if they are good enough with their quality & price. There are so many suppliers out there but to find the right one is not easy. Thanks in advance.

How to test cycle life of battery ?

I admire those who really test batteries for real like thunderheart, Pajda and others that I do not mention here. Especially that they also made that results available to the public. My salute to them. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Actual / straight forward cycles test by charging and discharging to 500 c...

Can we parallel BMSs to handle high current ?

Let's say if we need to make a replacement lithium battery pack for existing lead-acid, mid-size 1.5-ton forklift (48V, 450Ah or more) then we will need a high current BMS to take care of our batt pack. Since high current BMS is harder to find, fewer choices, and might be at risk if we depend only o...

BMS's C-, B- which port to connect and why ?

BMS's C-, B- which port to connect and why ? We all need BMS on our battery packs. A lot of us use those ready made BMSs from various sources. For example : 14S Smart Li-ion Battery PCB board Bluetooth Mobile BMS for 48V 58.8VLi-Ion E-bike Battery system with 20A to 60A Current https://www.aliexpres...

That means that guy I replied a PM to, has not opened his PM since July 2019.

My PM is not sent out ???

I tried to send someone a respond PM today but it did not go out for 5 hours already. I tried re-sending another one and it didn't go out for another 30 minutes. Another PM to another guy since July 2019 did not go out as well. All the 3 PMs are still shown in "outbox(3)" but each one marked as sent...

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

New stuff is in production, I expect to receive that within one or two weeks from now! 8) NZ is possibly, but you'd need to calculate ~40€ for shipping. tatus, I'm thinking about modding the electrodes a little bit. I don't know what exact material the electrode is made out of, can I just bend the ...

Re: New 14S7P & 14S5P packs need advices (to climb high mountain)

You most likely won't be able to do anything with the bottom spacing on the forks steerer as it will affect the crown race/ bearing seating and smooth operation. The steerer bottom end is slightly flared/tapered to enable the crown race to be a very tight fitting to prevent it spinning. I thought m...

Re: New 14S7P & 14S5P packs need advices (to climb high mountain)

After test installing my new 14S5P in aluminum tube under bike's downtube (there will be another 14S7P in the triangle), here a problem arises : The clearance between the front wheel and the 14S5P case is about 4.5 cm. But when the front fork hit bumps, it retracts to the shortest of 5.7 cm (per my ...

Re: New 14S7P & 14S5P packs need advices (to climb high mountain)

Update Build 14S5P (2018.12.31 going into 2019.01.01) Up to now, this installation is still temporary. I still use rope to fix the pack into position and test ride to see how it feels and how the pack performs. Actual mounting might be 3d printed brackets from my brand-new Creality-10X, it will take...

May be it is also like tatus said, the longer the welding cable the higher energy stored in the inductance L and thus it will find a way to keep that current to flow. Resulting in fire back to the mosfets in the circuit for every shot of welding. Premature life of mosfets can be expected. :!:

Re: kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

I welded a 300 Cell Pack with the stock cables just fine. You need to have the Welder above the Cells, similar to this: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/download/file.php?id=239781 Thanks for sharing, eee291. Your set-up is a perfect welding station ! Add a pneumatic plunger, it will become a indu...
