What cells in the area of 8C do you recommend due to testing other than 25R? (I mean better than 25R)

I think sony vtc5A and molicell p26a is a lot better, I will wait to see what the experts say :)

Re: Critique my plans for my first build!

I have built practically the same bike that you are planning to. I think it is alright, I have not ridden it a lot myself. It is mostly my girlfriend that have. The motor in my kit is 27mm, it would probably be rated 750w. But it has not been a problem so far with my controller, I use a KT 1500w. I ...

Today it was really up to the test, riding some rocky trails. At least one time i hit a rock pretty hard, that would for sure have dented the old rim. But nothing so far on the new one :)

Re: Pricing - 45mph cruise, 60mph top, 50 mile range (cruise speed)

The thing is, to be able to travel at those speeds for that long it will be a motorcycle when it is finished. Even if you start with a vector or similar frame, you won´t be able to fit enough batteries. You will have to build it wider or something. It will be heavy.. My bike with just 20Ah weight ab...

Re: Accelerated Systems ASI BAC 4000 & BAC 8000 FOC BT Controllers

I don´t know anything about asi controllers, but what is the "rated system voltage 74v"? It seems like you have 80v in the battery. What if you raise "rated system voltage" to something over your battery voltage?

The dc source has to be lower voltage than the battery on the bike for it to work.

Re: Blown 2 KT controllers in a row

Can you change any settings to cutoff current at something reasonable? Looks like you cells are capable of 20 amps continuous. So with 7P, that 140 amps continuous (7kw). If there's no cutoff, then you're the cutoff, so you need to keep the power draw below the controller's rating. What does the ba...

Finally the bike is up and running again after some controller problems. Have you looked inside the controller? It is possible that you just have to solder some wires to get pas and maybe regen too. Compare with pictures on the forum of other controllers, like the greentime.

Where are you in the queue for the 24fet now? So I am able to decide what options I want. I am still trying to decide to use potting...

Re: How to limit current of controller?

Can you upgrade the phase wires? I would go that direction. If you want to lower the output of the controller you could always do a shunt mod, but instead of adding material to the the shunt you take off material.

Yes, it seems like there can be benefits with more statoraid. Justin found that he got the best effect with about 12ml in a 27mm 9c motor, so maybe about 20ml in qs 205 50H? 9C2707 0 to 18mL Statorade, Core to Shell Conducitivity.jpg 9C2707 0 to 18mL Statorade, Core to Shell Conducitivity.jpg (108.0...

Re: Battery issue? :(

I dont see any info of what kind of cells there are in the battery? How much power are you using? 10miles, I think that is 16km. I havent done any counting, but I think it is possible to drain the battery in that distance. I think I am using about 70A in 80km/h, in 100km/h it would be a lot more for...

Re: BMS broken, damaged cells, or both?

It would be easier if you mesured one cell group at a time, to get the voltages. I wonder what have happened where they removed most of the plate and used nickelstrips instead.. In that picture every cell seems to have paper insulators, but on the picture where you point out a bad weld there are no ...

Re: Another "stealth bomber" build.

as to statoraid - are you testing the motors outer temp at the magnet ring, between the spokes, or on the side cover? because the side cover will not get hot at all... but the magnet ring can. if its still that kind of temp difference then you may have statoraid stuck on the inside of your stator r...

Re: Woodgas, more green than ev?

There are some discussion about efi vs carburetor, efi is very much to prefer. Then you can tune the ignition to suit both gas and liquid fuel. You can also use mixed fuel scenarios. Where you start on liquid fuel, and turn it down as the gas gets good enough to run at (if you dont want to wait) You...

Re: Woodgas/Biogas vs DIY Electric

It is interesting that this have been discussed here for good or bad. As far as I understand it, the main component of the gas is still CO, the second H2. If you are using coal, the gas are manly CO. But you loose much efficiency, and let out a lot of "dirt". I have been playing around with this a f...
