Re: Kelly KBL 96251 and QS V3 273 trouble
It was exactly that kind of break I mean. I dont think you will break the tubes. I might add that I dont have any experiace with that kind of problem myself, but when I built a fast bike I used a dual crown fork even though it is only rear wheel drive.. It might not break right away, but with time w...

Re: Electric 450 CRF conversion.
Nice, very similar to my plans for the yamaha build
Setting up the sevcon looks easy for you, it seems like it is not for most people
I am struggeling with the controller choice myself, it is hard to find a good powerful controller if not going the sevcon direction.

Re: Kelly KBL 96251 and QS V3 273 trouble
Shit, this thing looks seriously dangerous  I would not want to be on it when it wheelies on full throttle, and the front wheel spins up to full speed before it hits the ground. It would be really interesting when the fork brakes when the wheel get traction again. I dont think your motors are...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F
Haggan, du har pm. Soap, I will use the EV modules that you can see some of in a picture when I tried if they fit. I will probably parallel with some rc lipos or something to get some extra Ah and lower ir. The ev cells are very good, but not the most energy dense. So they make more sense on a daily...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F
Thanks larsb, makes sense :thumb: So it seems like the 138 90h should be able to make about 30% more torque and power than the 130 70h, interesting. Thanks Soap_62, but I am not looking to find a motor that fits inside the housing. I want a big motor that can make big power for some time. I prefer a...

Yes, and you will need a much beefier controller too. 250 phase amps on a 273, and you are talking about drag racing?

Re: Yamaha YZ250F
By common logic this should be able to give twice the power compared to a 138 70H How can you tell, rotor surface area? It would be really interesting to know how it compares to me1507 and zero 75-7. I havent seen numbers on the rotor size on those, but it seems the 7 in 75-7 stands for 70h ? The q...

https://i.imgur.com/l5QT6CK.jpg This is the "base" batteries I plan to use. Then it will depend on the controller, but it would be nice if I could use 24s (2x12s modules) These are hard to reconfigure, the terminals are welded on the cells. And the cages around the cells are welded togeth...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F
This is just planning, I might very well end up just making a new shaft and moving it forward a bit from where the output shaft is now. Then I will get some extra clearance for a not too small sprocket on the other side, and settle for a 2 stage reduction with relatively small sprockets on the first...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F
Sure, 2 stage would be a lot easier. But I think you are wrong about being able to have a 15toot sprocket on the other side. There are no chain guide as you say, but instead the chain has to fit between the sprocket and swing arm. And the chain is thicker than the guide. The transmission wont take u...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F
I want to do a 2 stage reduction on this bike, but I think I will have to do 3 stage instead: https://i.imgur.com/SmWdo9o.jpg With the output shaft in the standard position there is not much room for a bigger sprocket on the other side, if I just used a shaft that goes from one side to the other. ht...

Re: Bosch Motorsports e-GoKart Powertrain Young Star
Yes, it is nothing new. It has been on most Audi cars for the last few years. Not sure if it is Bosch or another manufacturer though. They use 48v systems on bigger engines (v6 etc.) and 12v on smaller (4 cyl)

Re: ME1507 vs QS motors
Correct, seems that MTPA was introduced in VESC: https://hackaday.io/project/164932-axiom-100kw-motor-controller/log/179447-mtpa-merged-into-vesc Then i guess next step is to get an axiom :D It has been a while since I read the axiom thread, but from what I remember it is high voltage and price. Bu...

Re: ME1507 vs QS motors
Another person here on Endless has a go kart build and used Goldenmotor, Motenergy ME1304 then a Zero 75-7. Nice, is there a build thread? Something that bothered me in the thread I linked to was that (from what I remember) the guy from ME thought the power was what to be expected. But you are righ...

Re: Yamaha YZ250F
Nothing is decided yet, but I am looking at the qs 180 90h.
Qs recommends 750-850 phase amps, and 72-96V.
So I guess I should try to find a controller that can do 1000pA and 96V nominal in that case..
It would be nice with a 6 phase motor, and use dual controllers.

I dont think there are much info available about the 180 motors, but you can find some around page 50 in the qs sales thread. Threads like this makes me doubt sevcon: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=109180 Interesting about golden motor: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/v...

Re: Battery to battery charging
I have a nuc 24fet, (not on this bike) nice controller but not powerful enough.
It is a nice feature, but it heats up both motor and controller.
So not very good if you want to ride hard right after charging.

Re: Battery to battery charging
Thanks fechter, that was the answer I was looking for.
I was mostly worried if there would be a problem with paralleling them.
They have fans, but it is probably a good idea to make a duct under the cooling fins and mount bigger ones.

Re: Chinese 125cc + Honda IMA motor
Yea, kind of, the original nominal voltage is 144V and the nominal pack voltage I have is 96V which is 2/3 of its original spec. But despite this it should produce the same torque up to the max RPM so it's a matter of final drive gear ratio. I can always rewind it of it's if it's wildly underpowere...
