Re: Yamaha YZF250F

Launch date? I dont know, it will be a while  Later this year I hope. Now I am designing sprockets and the jackshaft: https://i.imgur.com/KJuBuH5.jpg https://i.imgur.com/83qLEyQ.jpg At the moment I am trying to find someone to make the shaft. Then making the batterybox will sure take a while.

Re: how to program a sevcon gen4

Thanks, menus look like this: https://i.imgur.com/ZRGPb4l.jpg There is inductance, but it seems to me like an odd number. I would probably just call it 100 if I would have written it. Ke looks a bit odd too. Then there is this: https://i.imgur.com/1LNPyh2.jpg There is a calculated Ke, and a calculat...

It souldnt be a problem for the motor, but you better check if you can change direction on the brake arm.

Re: how to program a sevcon gen4

I have so far only looked at a file online and read manuals, but I planned to try to find out the motor parameters necessary before it is time to start programming. But it is unclear to me what motorparameters I need to know, and what can be found while running the motor. I basically only know pole ...

Nanjing far driver controllers

These start to turn up here and there on the forum. It seems like they were only available in China before, but now they seem to be available on more places. Like qs motors: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002700088712.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000014.7.64bc69d2LRdK7f&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreO...

Re: SiAECOSYS 72V Controllers

They are a bit hard to find, but there seem to be some interesting models:

https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005001992946746.html

I think I have seen some higher voltage versions in the higher current models too.

I dont think they should be compared to sabvoton.
If you look a bit more "Nanjing far driver" or something like that pops up.

Re: Yamaha YZF250F

The controller part nr is 634A85101 It is a gen4 size6 for AB/UVW (not sin/cos) The controller was € 927 with taxes. Total with ixxat, dvtc program and connector was just below € 1500. So it for sure is not the cheapest option.. I dont know much about how it is to program yet, I have only looked at ...

Re: Yamaha YZF250F

I saw you asked how long I waited, I think it was about 4 months.. But that was because it was not in production. And I guess that is why it is not on the website, it is not really in production (yet?) Yes, sevcon has salient settings for ipm motors. But I dont know how it works. It seems like sevco...

Re: Yamaha YZF250F

I dont see any em 260 on their website?

I was looking at the em 300, but it is a little on the small side for this motor I think.
And same thing there, qs didnt recommend it because of reliability issues..

Re: Yamaha YZF250F

Hi,mate! Tell me please why did you choose Sevcon controller, not Votol for instance? I have written quite a lot about different controllers I have considered in the thread. But why I didnt go with votol was basically because I didnt find any suitable. There is a high voltage model of em200 that I ...

Re: Racing go kart

It was a maxed out votol em150. 540phase A and set to 400 battery A I have never reacted 400battery A as far as I know, but during FW I have reacted maybe 370 or something like that. I dont remember exactly, but it is all in the ktm thread. Damn! I've been dismissing the em150 as a base level brick...

Re: Racing go kart

Interesting about the motors, is it 30kw input or output?
I have ran my 138 70h with something like 32kw input at something like 7600rpm if I remember correctly.
And ran 8000rpm no load, or almost no load I guess. It was with the chain and rear wheel.
But that was all with fw, and something like 85V.

You connect your psu like in the schematics Sam posted.
And you set up how you want it to work in the "converter" menu if I remember correct.
I recommend that you read the manual

Re: Yamaha YZF250F

Yes, 6082 T651. I used 4043 rods, it seems to be recommended from what I found. I only had 2mm rods, thicker wound probably been better. It not so much drip on with those small rods on this thick stuff, more like a constant feed  I think it was relatively easy to weld, once I got enough heat..

I planed to finish the motor mount this weekend, but it dosent seem like I will. Mostly because too much other stuff came up. I would also be interested to know what magnet you found.

I looked in my thread, but it dosent seem like I mentioned what magnets I found or what they cost.
But I think it was at least double of the one you found

Re: Yamaha YZF250F

Nice drawing, thanks :thumb:

I spoke to the cutter, and he should be able to cut sprockets with good fit.
I think I will go for thicker sprockets, and machine them to fit the chain afterwards.
Something like 10 or 12mm thick probably, then I will get a good grip on the splines.

Interesting :thumb: I have ordered 10-13 tooth 428 sprockets from sprocket specialists, but I then got a reply saying they dont have the 10 or 11 tooth. I will talk to "my" water cutter and see what he can do. Do you know how thick the sprocket can be and fit on the shaft? It is a little h...

I'm hoping that I can get a custom made shaft, but I havent got that far yet. I will start designing it when I have got the other parts in the drive together. Maybe you can use a shaft like this: https://i.imgur.com/9OWOCGN.jpg The 16/20/4 should fit a JTF 1554 or JTF 522 for 520 chain, or JTF 1263 ...
