Re: how to program a sevcon gen4

It should be, yes. If it isn't, then you're not correctly aligned.

Try to run at a constant RPM as much as possible, 500-1000RPM maybe. I always used a drill to spin the motor.

Re: how to program a sevcon gen4

It's only straight up if it's aligned. What you need to do is pick the average line that best represents all of those dots. So something up and to the right a few degrees.

Re: how to program a sevcon gen4

Try aligning the encoder. 9 times out of 10 that is the issue for running rough.

I emailed you the document you'll need.

Re: Electric Kart build

We designed the wiring loom, so yes, it plugged in and worked immediately. The Sevcon had to be programmed for the motor, yes. The wiring loom includes a programming port.

Maybe I'm not understanding the question. Can you clarify?

Nice one bud! Did you get regenerative braking sorted for them or did they decide to just have the mechanical brake?
They have some off throttle regenerative braking (aka neutral braking). They don't want to integrate an additional brake input at this time.

Re: Electric Kart build

IM surprised there is no sign of front brakes ? A 15kWh pack is pretty bulky..like having a passenger , And i dont think any kart should have traction control ! Yeah, I noticed that. The article says 15kW, not kWh, and it's roughly 4.5kWh. Gotta love journalists. I think they'll eventually want fro...

Re: Electric Kart build

Sorry for lack of updates. This took a few turns. Many of you know that I had a business selling motors and controllers. I was put into contact with Topkart to supply them some components. Eventually, I worked with EVDrive (in Oregon) and Topkart to develop a kit that should be available later this ...

Re: jonescg's NEW electric racebike BUILD thread!

Nice looking DC-DC. A little hard to get programmed (DVT doesn't fully have support yet).

I did get ours updated to a different CAN Node and Baud rate. Using some of these in a project at work (Rinehart/AMRacing).

Re: Vectrix VX2 issue

I got little/no thanks for updating his controller with the file you must've sent him. He made major changes to the controller via the Clearview, but could not tell me what he changed. He didn't have a backup of what was on there and didn't take notes on what was changed. He told me he did finally g...

Does anyone have the stock vanilla DCF for the Vectrix? Someone I know bricked theirs after changing parameters and we're trying to get it back to normal.

Re: Motenergy ME1304 motor with SEVCON size 6 on Dyno

Concerning the Speedapp, I emailed the hsct company about the hardware they were selling multiple times earlier this year without any response. Nothing was listed on their website at the time. I saw the Speedapp on google play, but it said you needed their dongle. No other information was given, so ...

Re: Dashboard suggestions

Awesome Bernel. What microcontroller? I'm working with a guy in Spain that is doing a bluetooth OBDII converter that polls the sevcon (and you can configure anything supported by the controller) and tell it what the PID is and it will respond to a phone/tablet running Torque (Android). Check it: htt...

Nuxland, looks awesome! How was the heat on the motor? What motor are you using right now? I had forgotten which you settled on. I'm considering the ME1507 for testing, and ME1616 if I went to race. BTW, Hadn't heard from you on the software side of this project, and Jose (e-vektor) is working on an...

They can talk to the controller, but I'm no expert on talking to MBB and anything else. Might post on the electricmotorcycleforum.com and ask around. It DOES talk to the Sevcon though.

Re: Controller data logging and OSD

Got my test board hooked up and talking to ZEVA BMS. Just reading 4 cells right now on a 12V pack. Haven't got the rounding right, but it's reading each cell individually. Also want to get Temperature and some of the BMS items there, but it's reading! Need to work on the Sevcon some more. I couldn't...

Re: Dashboard suggestions

You want arduino code, but don't have the time to do the project and connect one to a sevcon?

What is it you're looking for then? I'm confused.

(asking because we're developing a board that we hope to release, so feedback is important).

Re: Dashboard suggestions

I'm currently toying with an idea with another manufacturer to develop CAN to Bluetooth interface that will allow you to convert CANopen to Bluetooth as an ELM327 emulator. Right now we're testing ZEVA BMS and Sevcon controllers so you can display on an android app like Torque or OBD Fusion to read ...
