Re: Newb questions about 1st ebike build ??
I had a Pedego with a twist throttle, and the previous owner had disconnected the brake sensors. I never wished they were connected. I had full control over the throttle and never felt like I might forget to back off when braking, probably because dropping the throttle and braking are done simultane...

Can you share where you're going to buy the kit? I'm roughly in the same boat and I'm trying to decide whether or not to just buy a kit + battery from Amazon.

Re: Bafang BBS01 on Dyno cruiser
It worked for me. I'm trying to do this very thing and asked the same question earlier. The responses were that the conversion adapter thing would put too much space between the motor housing and the bracket. I'd love to see photos of yours if you have any - and any pointers. BTW, I asked Paul at e...

Perhaps the answer is to stencil "500W" on the 1000W hub in big, bright letters.

I need to rethink my 1000W motor if it makes it a "Motorized Bicycle".

California CVC 406(b)-What constitutes a "Motorized Bicycle"
This has probably been talked to death here, but I'd like to post what I've found. A friend of mine mentioned that part of my commute was on National Park territory - and it specifically states on an official sign: "No Motorized Bicycles" - according to him. So it comes to the definition o...

Re: Commute - charge both at home and at work?
Great info - thank you! I brought the charger with me to work today. The throttle still reads green "Full" though it's hard to tell what that means. When you think about it, battery care is like managing your MPG. So if I get home and charge it - what if I just charged it for an hour - the...

Re: Commute - charge both at home and at work?
All good info - thanks. I'm still learning. Commute is 8 miles each way Battery is Pedego 36v10ah Lithium Ion From what I understand then, for Lithium Ion: 1. Don't store it 100% fully charged. 2. Don't discharge past 20% if you can help it. 3. Charge it as close to using it as possible. And the rec...

Re: Has anyone used a mid-drive with old style bottom bracke
You guys are talking me out of it. I wanted to use a 3spd hub and the mid drive to get the benefits of shifting. The other option is to bend the rear fork 10cm each way - 20cm! - to fit the 135mm hub - and I'd have to deal with rebuilding the wheel, converting it to single speed, aligning the offset...

Has anyone used a mid-drive with old style bottom bracket?
I have an old Worksman frame with the one piece crank style bottom bracket. I know there are converters to make it a standard 68mm 3piece crank style, but I'm afraid that adding that much space would be too wide for a mid drive, like the Bafang BBS02.
Has anyone done it?

Commute - charge both at home and at work?
I bought a Pedego recently, and their web site says to keep it fully charged and to charge the battery even after a short ride.
Does that mean that if I commute, I should charge it at work as well as home? Or is it enough to just charge when I get home?

Will this Yescom kit suffice for Worksman INB?
I'm putting together a cruiser ebike from a Worksman INB frame and fork, and with all the reading I've done, Yescom gets good marks/good price, and to avoid the 135mm rear requirement (and they're out of the rear ones anyway), I think I'll go with front drive: http://www.yescomusa.com/collections/el...

I think mid drive is the way I want to go. Has anyone fit on inside a frame triangle rather than under the bottom bracket?

Thanks for the reply - truing a wheel is the only thing I can't do on a bike. I tried when I was a kid - and I probably still have the truing stand somewhere. Youtube and the Internet happened, and I might take it on again with help. Man, I wish it were easier to find a cruiser frame with a disc tab...

Advice and suggestions needed for cruiser build -HBBC Delux
I'm considering a build based on the Delux cruiser from HBBC . I'm thinking Yescom for the kit - something 500W or more, and mechanical disc brakes, because I don't want to bother with hydraulic. And Ping battery, very likely. Any advice on the kit is appreciated. I'd love it if the battery could fi...

How does the original axle and nut fit? That looks like a Schwinn design flaw.

Re: Modern boardtrack-inspired cruiser build
I read through several times - he doesn't mention how he did the rear disc brake. Is it brazed on? Is it an adapter? I love this bike - I'd like to find a frame that has both a stretch cruiser look that's disc ready. Also, I'd like to find a e-kit supplier that provides 24in rims already laced. I re...

Re: Modern boardtrack-inspired cruiser build
This is pretty close to exactly what I want to build.
The wheels - are those 24in to fit on the 26in frame? choppersus.com has both 24 and 26. I'm guessing the 26x3 wouldn't fit in the frame, so they must be 24?

Re: Just got my ebike kit from yescomusa what battery?
I'd like to build a bike with the yescomusa kit - I've read elsewhere that the axle is exceptionally wide - 145mm or something (http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=49638). Is that still the case? I'd rather not have to bend a frame to make it fit - and the kits' descriptions don...
