Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Another quick question - how do I remove the crank arms? I purchased a smaller chainring but don't know how to remove the crank arm. Do I need a special tool?! Yes. It's called a "crank puller". About $15. You'll also need a bottom bracket tool to remove the bottom bracket. It looks like kind of li...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open souce adapted to vlcd5

Thank You marcoq !! I have several of these ( TSDZ2 ) motors installed on different bikes. Some with different versions of the opensource firmware, and two with the "stock" firmware ( just one now). I recently installed vM0.16.C and Configurator_Beta_0.1.4 on a cargo bike with 48v motor, 52v battery...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

It's push and hold all 3 buttons, for like 10 seconds, which I found to be awkward at best. My recollection is a 3 digit number appears in the bottom right of the display, with the left most digit flashing. I think that mine started off at 150, and I was only able to increase it to 250 (w). Pressing...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

The biggest difference was power. When I switched from a VLCD-5 to a VLCD-6 on one of my bikes ( 48V, 750watt ) power was limited to 300w and speed was limited to 25kph. Changing the data memory ( as outlined by Eyebyesicle ) had no effect. Changing to the 52v ( "stock" ) firmware ( as supplied by E...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Thank you both. It's too bad it's so loud. It seems like the perfect motor for me other than that. I thought I read someone speculate once it might be because the gears are straight-cut instead of helical. I wonder if it'd be possible to find replacements to swap in? I've purchased 3 of these motor...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Perhaps it might be useful to add a second magnet to the wheel This will double the frequency of the rotation reading. Obviously, the circumference of the correct wheel must be set. It is an idea that has already been used with the stock firmware That would be another extra part for users to buy, i...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

BTW sometimes my speed sensor gives me weird values like 41km/hr and 64km/hr just pushing the bike around.. Anyone else have this ? Yes, often. When it happens to me it means that the magnet is passing a bit too close to the wheel speed sensor. But I've reverted back to the "stock" firmware and VLC...

Re: Problems with pswpower.com

Thought I'd offer what I hope is a final summary on my issue with pswpower. On 8 October I notified pswpower that the motor kit they shipped me had arrived with a cracked display. They ( "Alice" ) asked for a photo of the damage, which I sent. She then wrote that she couldn't read the attachments an...

Re: Problems with pswpower.com

Ordered a mid-drive motor kit from them and it arrived with a cracked LCD screen. Sent them pictures of the screen and their reply was something to the effect of "we check product before ship and was good" (as near as I could understand the broken english ). So what! I certainly wasn't responsible f...
