Looks great, I certainly like the concept as explained on your 'why' page.

Can you include initial thrust in your measurements?

Re: Buell Fuell Flow motorcycle

I suspect the pics are CGI and may be leaving details, like the actual cover, out. [EDIT] I'm wrong, the Fuell website linked in a post below has a video of an actual machine in action. It also lists the motor as proprietary, so I'd hope Buell isn't risking his reputation on a motor prone to overhea...

Re: Buell Fuell Flow motorcycle

why build another electric bicycle that looks like a motorcycle or scooter? 1kw battery and a 500w motor  for over 10 grand?! No thanks. the bicycle looks good but that anemic little motorcycle wannabe is super lame. 500W and 1kWh are specs for the upgrade bicycle ($ unspecified), not the $11...

Re: ICE vs Electric Motor Transmissions

As far as I understand it, if you want better acceleration and speed it is better to put the extra complexity, cost and weight in a bigger/stronger electric motor, controller and battery then in a gearbox. Go tell the EV drag racers. 'Big Daddy' Don Garlits uses single ratio drivetrains on both his...

Just double checking here: 4% grade and not 4 degrees? If Grin calculated using 4 degrees, then 3 modules would be more righter.

Can you take a screen shot of the simulation, or give the parameters you used? 357W to go up a 'hill' sounds low.

Once drivers are eliminated, the need for 'big' rigs will only be for things that can't be broken into smaller pieces.

(do they even make bike dynos?)
Put a card in the spokes and then use a sound editing program to map distance/time. Plug weight into the equation and there's your dyno.

Re: Series Connected FLA's not Charging Uniformally

Temperature. The center batteries can't shed heat as well as the end batteries. Warmer batteries will show a higher voltage. When temperatures equalize, so do voltages. There are charts showing what the charging voltage needs to be according to temperature. Cold batteries need less voltage during ch...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

Fuel outlets will not diminish until after liquid fueled vehicles diminish. The liquid fueled vehicle quickly replaced the horse since they quickly became much more useful for transportation than a horse. Useful = $. Fuel outlets will diminish as soon as its cheaper to deliver the fuel to the ICE v...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

… Many new cars sold today will still be on the road in 15 years. It will all be driven by economics. As fuel outlets diminish, fuel will be delivered by electric autonomous vehicles for a few years. The quick changeover from horses to ICE is an analogous and cogent example of what is about to happ...

All ICE will be gone from the roads by 2032 according to the futurist Tony Seba: Tony Seba: Clean Disruption...

Can the BBSHD freewheel to allow backwards chain travel for shifting? Do you have a plan for how you would make the chain 'kick' backwards to actuate the shift(s)?
