Re: Controller current draw vs. motor current draw

Just double checking here: 4% grade and not 4 degrees? If Grin calculated using 4 degrees, then 3 modules would be more righter.

Can you take a screen shot of the simulation, or give the parameters you used? 357W to go up a 'hill' sounds low.

Once drivers are eliminated, the need for 'big' rigs will only be for things that can't be broken into smaller pieces.

(do they even make bike dynos?)
Put a card in the spokes and then use a sound editing program to map distance/time. Plug weight into the equation and there's your dyno.

Temperature. The center batteries can't shed heat as well as the end batteries. Warmer batteries will show a higher voltage. When temperatures equalize, so do voltages. There are charts showing what the charging voltage needs to be according to temperature. Cold batteries need less voltage during ch...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

Fuel outlets will not diminish until after liquid fueled vehicles diminish. The liquid fueled vehicle quickly replaced the horse since they quickly became much more useful for transportation than a horse. Useful = $. Fuel outlets will diminish as soon as its cheaper to deliver the fuel to the ICE v...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

… Many new cars sold today will still be on the road in 15 years. It will all be driven by economics. As fuel outlets diminish, fuel will be delivered by electric autonomous vehicles for a few years. The quick changeover from horses to ICE is an analogous and cogent example of what is about to happ...

… There's also talk of pulling forward the ban on sales of ICE cars from 2040 to 2030 or 2025 (2040 was always a pretty weak effort). The change will come, grumpy old obstructionists or not! All ICE will be gone from the roads by 2032 according to the futurist Tony Seba: Tony Seba: Clean Disruption...

There's a video around of someone who used a stripped down compressor by pressing the gear wheel against his tire. Those compressors get hot though, so you'd want to keep enough of the enclosure to insulate the hot bits.

The frames are stout, but too small for many. That swingarm has a common pivot bearing and can be mounted onto other, larger, frames. The pedal shaft could also be utilized in a DIY rear suspension longtail.- I've often wondered if a similar aftermarket midrive swingarm would be a financially viable...

So how will it measure the finish line cross?
1 click = one wheel revolution. 1/4 mile = X clicks. Count them using a sound editing program that displays a timeline.

Apply some calculus to get the rate of acceleration if that interests you.

Or, as lowrider13 suggests, use a smartphone app.
