Re: Sag from cells or from heat/resistance?

My thought is sag is about the cells as a rule. Wire and strip size aren't changing to cause the sag in available voltage. It's way more about the cell's ability to produce a constant rate. Some are clearly better at this than others. Thanks. Ya, I found some data on the strips and it's just noise ...

Sag from cells or from heat/resistance?

Something I plan to do this winter is open up my UPP hard cased triangle pack to check each parallel group voltage, then inspect the cells and construction. I have two UPP packs and both have worked well, but I've seen posts about the construction of some of their packs, so I'm curious to see what's...

Re: Purchasing a bike from Alibaba (12kw, 15kw) Leili

Yes I'll report back numbers in the future, but it really depends on what speed you hold. I always thought "I'll just hold 30mph" but it's hard to go 30mph when you have open road and the ability to go 60mph. I did a 26 mile loop averaging about 50mph and used a bit over half the battery....

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

A leaf in a 20" on >10kw with some decent cooling would give you something like a half-power Luke deathbike. But do you really need that? Is that just venting, or forced air using fans? I don't ride in the rain, at least by choice, so I wonder if I should vent the side covers while I...

Re: Qs 138 and sabvoton 72150 throttle response

Hey all, I am building an electric gokart, here are the specs: 20s12p 150a battery Sabvoton 72150 Qs138 90h The problem I am having is that my throttle is way too sensitive. What I mean is that only about 10% of the throttle is usable. At about 10% of twist the motor goes 100% speed. The other 90% ...

My thermistors arrived, but just checking to see if this is what I should have expected. They are super small, like half the size of a grain of rice. 10k, 3950

Thoughts?

Re: Cycle Analyst - still solid choice?

CAv3 has nothing to do specifically with ESC It is designed to work with (nearly?) any controller type. It doesn't even need to work with a controller to provide the "wattmeter" type of monitoring functions, but would require a controller with a throttle input to provide the non-monitor a...

is one sensored and another sensorless? Maybe there could be a hall sensor problem? Both sensored, and the hall table looks fine on the ASI side I'd be interested in finding out why the old controller works if it's also sensored, or what the new one requires that the old one doesn't in order to run.

Re: Cycle Analyst - still solid choice?

Hello everyone! Just want to inform you that I already developed a wattmeter , that could be an alternative to CA. My wattmeter is something between CA2 and CA3 in functionality. It has more monitoring features like clock, buzzer with adjustable critical alarms, 4 thermomonitoring channels and some...

Re: Looking for ESC that can default to a specific profile.

So, since high power bikes are illegal within the UK, I want a Motor controller suitable for a high powered motor. The important factor is having the power mode reset to a low power mode after a power cycle (so i can descretely tone the bike down if I get pulled over). Where I would then use a Blue...

What's the max continuous current limit on the battery's BMS? That is your limiting factor for running the bike. You can set a peak current as high as the peak battery limit, but you don't want to use that for more than a few seconds at a time. Seems like the cells are the limiting factor. When dra...

Of the three windings, in order, -the first is a 4T winding. -the second and third are 5T windings. This is assuming they don't have any typographical errors. My understanding is that the default winding is supposed to always be 5T. Thanks for solving that mystery. I definitely don't need the 4T sp...

A horn is a great idea, maybe have two or three modes. Normal noise level, and more and more noise level ;) I think the chrome versions would fit with the flashy scheme. https://www.amazon.com/Vixen-Horns-Cucaracha-Compressor-Complete/dp/B01CO68EIM/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3H7PK3L133PH3&keywords=la+cuca...

Re: Contactor question

I'm leaning towards the GX12-HA which should provide the headroom that I need on power surges. Gigavac notes that you do not need/want to use a diode on this contactor. It seems that you're using this for protection, not just as an on/off switch, and in addition to your BMS. What components are you...

Are you going to need washers for the hub (spoke holes drilled for 12ga) with your new 14ga spokes? Not sure. The hub end is 13 gauge so 2.3mm vs 2.6mm. "Like it says, this spoke is very strong. The Strong is developed for specific and heavy usage such as tandem, e-bikes or heavy load use. In ...

I'm 90% decided that I'm going to relace my motor into a 24" rim. I remember you chose default options when ordering, but did you spin it up unloaded with a meter on the battery and a tachometer on the motor? Just to verify the KV. This is what I have. Brilliant. I have a spare controller and ...
