Re: Disaster today, almost set two fires with BBSHD and 52v batteries

All adapters were bought from luna cycle. I didn't solder anything. I will get the mm. I was riding the bike 5 minutes before this happened. I switched the battery when I got home which entailed unplugging everything. That is when I had the issue with the connector tried straightening the pins but ...

Re: Disaster today, almost set two fires with BBSHD and 52v batteries

Will have to buy one, even though it is pretty obvious what the issue is . Really? And what would that be? As fatty said, the pins suffered no damage. The XT-90 that handles 90Amps burned to a crisp. There's a direct short, and a lot of amps flowed through it. It might even be from how you soldered...

Re: Disaster today, almost set two fires with BBSHD and 52v batteries

Looks like this not the place to come for help see everyone's answer vary widely. The only thing that makes sense is the bent pin because it was the only thing that changed between when it worked and when it went nuts . So you still haven't pulled out your DMM to see if there's a direct short and t...

Re: Disaster today, almost set two fires with BBSHD and 52v batteries

Ok man. I lined up the arrows, beyond that, that is all I can do. I assumed it was the new battery I bought seeing it was aliexpress and I was in desperate need to get to work. Sorry my thoughts were not in trouble shooting mode at that time. The disconnect is, I never knew 52v was going through th...

Re: Disaster today, almost set two fires with BBSHD and 52v batteries

Zing. Thanks for adding insult to injury buddy boyo . Ebikes are a means of transportation for me, not something I spurg out on and spend hours learning everything. Sorry I didn't fully internalize the wiring schematics. There is no reason for 52v to be traveling though the data cable at all times,...

Re: Disaster today, almost set two fires with BBSHD and 52v batteries

If things were not constructed so poorly, this would have never happened. Interesting viewpoint. the wiring harness is soft and weathered by the sun. The connection for the screen bust on both sides and is all soft. crappy plastic That's one perspective. Another one would be the bike was working fi...

This seems like the best solution. Throw that DIY ebike piece of garbage in the dumpster.*

Re: Disaster today, almost set two fires with BBSHD and 52v batteries

So, sorry for sounding stupid, but it seems like now 1) BBSHD controller could be destroyed 2) Display may be destroyed 3) throttle may be destroyed 4) BMS on both batteries may be destroyed 5) cell groups on both batteries may be destroyed. this just seems like a lot from a bent pin, I appreciate ...

Re: Disaster today, almost set two fires with BBSHD and 52v batteries

I suspect the BMS is damaged, and even if it still "seems to work", I would not trust it. I still trust XT90 connectors. A shorted bent pin on the other connector is not an indictment against the other connectors. Nothing wrong with Andersons, if they work well for you. So what you are sa...

Re: Disaster today, almost set two fires with BBSHD and 52v batteries

Plugging your old battery in to the same connector that fried your new one probably wasn't the best next troubleshooting step if you own a DMM.

Re: What is the 3 pin motor connector called? (the sensor cable, and is it compatible with 6 pin version?)

You really should use the finger to show a picture of YOUR motor cable, with its three bullet connectors and a three pin JST connector. My guess is that the finger will be in constant use until at least after the next election. If the incumbents win, it could be several more years. Absent actual pi...

Re: speed relationship between wheel and bike

There can’t be a formula that will be exact. First you bother about meaningless factors like steering angle and camber, because bikes don’t need steering to turn or, if little of it they ever do, it is a slight counter steering that initiate the turn. Bikes need steering to turn, only at very low s...

Re: 20Ah batteries instead of 30Ah?

I have a Daymak 72v-30Ah electric scooter and the batteries are worn out. Can I install 20Ah battery? The 30Ah are very expensive and much heavier. I know that the autonomy will be less, but in the month it will work! here is a picture of my scooter controller https://i.postimg.cc/ZvtZSh1c/20210505...

Re: KT controllers, can you configure watts delivered at various levels?

The ebay details says it comes with the LCD3 and dual voltage controller. I've owned a lot of the LCD3's. It has 5 PAS levels, but while you can configure it (using the C5 parameter) anywhere from 50% to 100% of the rated current, the setting applies to all 5 PAS levels, and does not affect the thr...

Re: How does ANT BMS balance the battery pack and how long does it take?

You can charge the bad group via the balance leads but unplugging the bms and tap into the leads for that group. If you use a lipo or other charger, where you can set the voltage and charge current, then set it to 4.2V and ~2A charge current and monitor the voltage until it matches the others.

Hello everyone, I am a student from Taiwan and I am wondering:.... PS: Assume that two wheel's speed are synchronous . ...will the wheels still remain the same RPM ? Are you changing the assumptions? Does this bike have both wheels on the ground so the wheels spin at the same rate, or is it flying ...

OK, after reading through the lamenting about your soldering skills, complaining about the country you live in, and the sentence or two related to your batteries, I think I've figured out what you may be asking for help on, in order, based on your post: 1. Ya, your soldering sucks. You should practi...

Re: Puzzling problem - help!

Figured it out: If the PAS is set to zero on the display, the throttle won't work by itself. In all this time, I never encountered that issue. I suppose, by luck, I always had it randomly set to something else and rarely had reason to alter it. I think you want P4=0, C4=0 to have throttle all the t...

I'd rather stay in full control. For instance, if I'm trying to cross a busy street/intersection, I'd rather ride out the wheelie than have the motor stop in the middle of the road.

Re: Do some motors have more/less torque with the same power levels?

It wouldn't. Torque is a function of torque constant (Kt) in Nm/A, amps, and gearing. The Mini is geared with 9.55:1 primary torque multiplication, whereas the 3000 is geared with 6:1 primary torque multiplication, but the 3000 probably has higher Kt to compensate. So if you use the same controller...

Re: Do some motors have more/less torque with the same power levels?

I'm shopping for a new motor and I'm quite confused on the amount of torque a motor has. In my case, my old motor was a mini cyclone or cyclone 1680w and I'm looking to upgrade to the 3 kw cyclone. I keep hearing that the cyclone 3000 has a lot more torque. If I use the same power motor controller ...
