Re: My econo-e-bike

I had a good late sunset ride. Really clear out, and cool, but not cold, wearing a windbreaker and flannel shirt. It's hard to explain, but this cheap controller makes the motor run really smooth. It's silent, but the motor doesn't even have a hint of vibration, like everything is perfectly timed. T...

Re: Ebike wheel clip

You could remove it, measure the diameter of the slot, and buy a new snap ring. You may need a pair of snap ring pliers, but those are pretty cheap. If you don't have calipers to measure the axle slot, you could buy a full assortment for $10 and pick the one that fits. https://www.amazon.com/VIGRUE-...

So just to confirm, this is a new display and new controller purchased from different vendors.
Was the new controller purchased from the same vendor as the original?
Was the original kit, which I assume worked, purchased from the same vendor, or were the components purchased separately?

Re: Power Inverter for Electric Bike Battery

Good find. I did a bunch of research online about a year ago and couldn't find anything like this. I ended up using my old 12V buck converter for charging phones, etc., off my old 14S pack. I wonder if that unit would work with 14S? Not that good ... those are Chinese AC plugs. The 600 watt one wil...

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

I'm not going to find it, but if you search back in this thread around 2016/2017 you should find when I ordered my Leaf for my Stealth Fighter with a custom made axle with wider shoulders to fit it. Didn't cost any extra from memory, just ask them and they may make it for you like that. Cheers Than...

Re: Recommendations for Torque-Sensing Peddle Assist Kit

The TSDZ2 deal docw009 linked is the best option for price and torque sensing. The M500 would be a cadence based PAS as I recall. How much do you weigh? About 175 LBS. There have been some issues with the TSDZ2 spindle breaking, and not sure if weight is a factor: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/...

Re: Radvertising

Just counting from memory, it looks like the Radrunner 2 is the most popular single model of ebike around my area. I see a lot of people riding one up, but because of the optional passenger seat, I see a lot riding with passengers. Specifically, it looks like the bike of choice for parents commuting...

Re: Leafmotor 1500w motor BMX version

Everything I've read online says the BMX rear axle standard is 14mm. All BMX bikes used 3/8" (9.5mm) axles until the 1990s, when 14mm axles were introduced. Since then, both standards have coexisted, with most high quality, current production bikes settling on 14mm rear and 3/8" front axl...

Re: Need a replacement controller for Bafang front hub

But at the moment, you've got to trust that the seller wired the new connector correctly--this is not guaranteed. That's the problem with the single motor connector. There's no ability to trouble shoot the wiring, and I'm not too confident that vendors do things right, either on the controller or m...

Re: Help with battery to motor connector !

If the system was powered on and/or running when the damage occured, such as a crash while riding, then if any wires shorted together it may have damaged parts inside the device at either end of the wire, depending on whcih wires shorted. I guess one question would be, what real world situation cou...

Re: Leafmotor 1500w motor BMX version

If the axle flats are cut to fit the 14mm rear BMX dropout, is the actual axle a larger diameter compared the the normal Leaf motor? To judge by the videos (in which you can see the axle nuts rather than only the plastic nut covers), the axle seems to be the same 14x10mm size as the front and 7sp f...

Re: My econo-e-bike

This cable is pretty impressive for anyone wanting to consolidate their cable runs. I thought by the Amazon picture that if might be a rubber casing, and a bit concerned that it would easily be cut/nicked and open up. It turns out it's some other type of plastic casing that wasn't even easy to slic...

Re: Leafmotor 1500w motor BMX version

I'm planning an ebike conversion for my wife using a BMX frame. Actually, I'm planning on a dual purpose bike. I'm hoping to use the same cheap sine wave controller that I'm currently using on my bike, but modifying it to work on 14S (hopefully). I will be using a toque sensing PAS, if these adapter...

Re: My econo-e-bike

Congrats on the very nice build. I read in your initial post that the motor was under $200. I'm guessing that is the reason for calling your bike an econo-e-bike. However, you have upgraded many parts along the way, even the seat post (didn't you mention a Thud-buster?) The question is, what is the...

Re: what multimetre should i choose for present cell mesurement and future home task

A number of decent electronics channels on YouTube have reviewed the auto-off, auto-ranging low-priced Aneng meters. I have a couple. They're small and well within acceptable parameters. It's hard to find the resolution that they have in a low priced unit. I use it less for general stuff because it...

I've measured between each of the balance leads and each cell is bang on 4.0v and are connected correctly to the BMS.

The pack is reading 52v.
Were the cells all charged to 4V before assembling the pack, or charged after assembly?

Re: Recommendations for Torque-Sensing Peddle Assist Kit

Sadly an unrealistic budget. A well built battery will eat most of your budget. But a TSDZ2 is s great choice. What price would I need to go up to for a decent motor kit? Would $1000 be enough. Is the Bafang m500 a good motor? The TSDZ2 deal docw009 linked is the best option for price and torque se...
