No the boxes were metal, fully covered and lockable top,

a yard across, at least that high and 4-5' long.

Some ice cream vending trikes look similar but lower profile.

When not being used, store cells cool, low SoC and 100% isolated from any electronics, especially BMS type monitoring gear.

Be physically present and closely monitoring while actively cycling.

A towel is just about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can carry. Partly because it has great practical value. Re: Wildly different battery readings

The calculation/display of SoC% is at best wildly inaccurate, at worst meaningless blinky lights to be largely ignored. Best is a coulomb-counting watt meter using a shunt, set to work in both directions shows Ah drawn since last fully charged, reset to 100% SoC. Also how many Ah flow past in rechar...

In the 50's and 60's the streets of New York had hundreds of push cart bikes, very big box up front could fit a couple of bodies at least.

I wonder why that traditional design hasn't been adapted for electric?

The FET based units at such high power use cases are just not as reliable robust, long-lived

cheap Chinese versions even more unrealistically rated.

Re: Contactor question

Going much higher in DC voltage capacity rating cannot hurt. Certainly make sure to ignore the AC rating completely. But the ampacity maximum stated is what is particularly suspect. Testing a few hundred cycles to destruction would give the real answer but then many cheap-Chinese can't be relied upo...

Re: KONNWei 208 lead acid battery tester

A shunt based coulomb counting wattmeter does a decent job so long as you have a load you can adjust to keep Current Constant over the 20-hours test or whatever you choose as your standard. But a Dummy Load that does so automatically is much more precise. However, I would advise converting over from...

Re: Contactor question

Are you trying to go cheap, say too far under $100? Cheap Chinese need to be very deeply de-rated by half or more. I assume you want it to work under load more than just a few dozen cycles? Mechanical better than SS TE, Tyco, Potter & Brumfield, Gigavac, Kilovac, Schneider, ABB, Crydom, Crouzet ...

Perhaps since the educational value of the "Grin vs KT display" has pretty much run its course, of good reference value for others

Maybe worth opening a new thread on KT specific topics like these data comms protocols

Re: DIY Mini ebike battery configuration system

C-rate is always proportional to Ah So C-rate stays the same as you add more packs, paralleling or in serial. The wiring harness is fine long as you know what you're doing. Make sure packs you parallel are the same S-count **and** very close to same voltage before connecting. IMO the rig is dangerou...

Ah so I missed that.

100A battery maximum

120A phase maximum

Is that correct? At this point definitive as the vendor rating?

Re: FLIPSKY new 20s 100A tiny controller (vesc based)

OP states the unit can handle 7000W? My point is not that Flipsky "should not" give us at least a ballpark phase amps spec. But so far they haven't,and that is the reality we need to deal with. I am sure over time some range will be revealed by the tech-savvy early adopters along with all ...

John Im not saying they gave Fake specs or so, they have been 100% transparent to all asking them. But for a newbie Reading 100amp max DC amp can lead to understand motor amps Can be set near 250amps. That is not of concern to me personally. It would be great for the actual phase amps limit to be s...

Re: What can a Grin controller + cycle analyst do that KT controllers + KT display can't do?

It might work with other controllers, but it does not appear that it will program controllers, since say KT uses a proprietary protocol. Yes, if there is a display used to program a given controller, it is proprietary, that is true for all controller brands. The CAv3 is not such a device. It has no...
