If you are still looking for one of these, I have one that I no longer need. Mine is only an Astro 3215 motor though.

Firedog,

Do you do any type of protection between the packs in series as described by this post here:

Re: New 80 volt push mowers

Do you mean you bought the switch box from Greenworks? I'm just repeating the same pattern over and over that I pulled off with the logic analyzer. So no special turn on sequence. First of all, thank you guys for this amazing resource! This is like jackpot for anyone trying to play with this mower! ...

If you put the logic analyzer on the output of the arduino, does the wave match what you saw coming out of the battery?

Re: greenworks 40V battery circuit help?

The Omega port needs to see a series of logic signals. Have a look at this thread here: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=79384&p=1559001#p1559001 I was able to decode the logic pattern for the 60v greenworks motor and regenerate it with an arduino. If you have access to ...

Re: New 80 volt push mowers

In case anyone is interested, thanks to Metallover's post and link to the logic analyzer from Amazon, I was able to decode the battery signal from the "Omega" port on a Greenworks 60V battery. I recreated the signal using an Arduino and hooked up the Greenworks Brushless leaf blower using ...

Re: New 80 volt push mowers

Metallover, I tried your code on an Arduino and hooked it up to my 60 Greenworks brushless blower and it didn't work. I wonder if the 60V batteries need different signalling. I did hook up an LED to the Arduino pin 6 and could see slight flickering so I'm pretty sure the code uploaded and is running...

Re: Need help with 80v Greenworks/Kobalt/Stiga chainsaw speed controller

Hey uula, any update on this? I'm having the same issue. I bought a Greenworks brushless 60V blower. I built a battery for it and if I only connect to the + and - terminals on the tool, it powers up for about 3 seconds, then shuts off. If I wait a bit, it will power up for 3 seconds again, then shut...

Re: BBSHD + Grin Phaserunner (52V okay, 72V problem)

For those that are running a chain tensioner...what are you using? My Surly Singleator and most of the chain tensioners I know about are limited to a 23 or 24 tooth max size. I'll be interested to hear what you find. I had to hack together a tensioner. I'm using an old XT rear derailleur but I exte...

Re: BBSHD + Grin Phaserunner (52V okay, 72V problem)

.the only advantage I can see with going to 72v is a little quicker throttle response. Am I missing anything...what do you guys think? Thank You The advantage to 72v or even higher is higher RPMs. Then you use lower gearing for equivalent speed. This translates to less stress on the entire drive tr...

Re: How to connect BBSHD to an external controller?

Pretty sure it's a JST 2.54 mm pitch connector, but don't quote me on that. You may want to measure to be sure. I moved on from the cyclone controller to a PhaseRunner with a Cycle Analyst. It was a lot more money but absolutely worth it to me. My use case is a single speed, very quiet commuter bike...

Re: Astro vs Revolt engines

What sort of "big amps" are we talking here? Well, if we take your current setup of 60V, 45 amps continuous, you are looking at 2700 watts. For the Astro motors, most people are running the Castle Creations HV controllers like the Talon, which only go up to 50.4 volts. So to get your equi...

Re: Astro vs Revolt engines

I would love to see someone successfully do some type of noise reduction enclosure on an Astro build. Then I could copy their design. My Astro build has been sitting, collecting dust since I have been playing with my BBSHD. I want go back to it and do a noise enclosure as well, but just no time. The...

Re: Astro vs Revolt engines

First, I can't run full throttle as long as I'd like without generating an alarming amount of engine heat. Second, I'd like the engine to fit into the triangle rather than hang below the bike, for obvious reasons. Third, the BBSHD is needlessly heavy. Like, it's just bizarre to me that Bafang didn'...

Thinking about just turning the existing hub into a fixed since it's basically what it is right now. I'll open it up and take a look. Maybe I'll throw some JB Weld in there or a bent nail to make sure it's permanently locked up.

Need a bombproof rear-hub that can handle 2500 watts

My current set-up is a BBSHD with a PhaseRunner on 75 Volts nominal, around 36 amps. The volts drop a little under load, so I'm seeing about 2500 watts peak. My regular commute involves climbing a 32 degree dirt trail. So the bike is geared very low for climbing. It is single speed with a 30T at the...

Re: Left side drive, prevent chain from derailing?

Thanks, Avner. That's perfect since I'm already running a Phaserunner! I'm going to give that a try. The issue came up because the freehub on my rear wheel has locked up, so now the chain is getting spun by the rear-wheel instead of freewheeling. I figured the left side drive folks have already figu...

Left side drive, prevent chain from derailing?

For those of you running a left side drive, given that there is no free-wheel on that side, how do you prevent the chain from derailing given that when you are not applying throttle, the spinning of the rear wheel is actually driving the chain forward on the front motor sprocket. Typically, all the ...
