Re: 4S LiFePO4 as a 12V system
Thanks e-beach... what's a good go-to source for Headway's these days? Thinking I might just have more luck/better pricing with 4 40ah prismatics or whatever the blue rectangles are called.

Re: 4S LiFePO4 as a 12V system
Honestly, the only draw in the camper are LED lights (like max 8 ), an inverted TV that draws about 25w max & occasionally a fan. All in no more than probably 100w full bore.

Re: 4S LiFePO4 as a 12V system
*bump* Looking to replace SLA in my camper with 4S LFP. What's the latest on this? Looking for the most affordable I can find (no need for big power draws)... can be cylindrical or pouch or prismatic or whatever. Have spot welder so can do some building if necessary. Looking for 40ah. Thanks for tips!

Re: Turn key 4s lifepo4??
If you ever find good ones wineboyrider let me know. Last question... can 12v camper DC accessories handle say 16v+ hot of the charger? I can't seem to find much online if this is the case. I'm thinking of using some other old Makita cells I have in a 4S, but that would make them 16.8v... probably f...

Re: Turn key 4s lifepo4??
Thanks for the replies folks. I was thinking prismatic or headway etc. and while I can do some DIY on it to save money I'd prefer to just get something pre-made. I see years later that while prices have come down a lot lithium 12v is still waaaaaay more expensive than lead. Thanks again.

Turn key 4s lifepo4??
Hey folks.. I've been out of the loop for quite a few years and searching around is a little overwhelming at this point so I'm looking for help. I'm looking for a ready built/turn key 4s lifepo4 battery of at least 40ah for use in a camper. I turned my old Makita tool pack cells into a 3s 50ah campe...

Re: Adopting Power Tool Batteries to Our Broader Uses
I remember when you put that bike together to go up mountain trails. Heya otherDoc! The "good old days" huh. I dislocated my shoulder in 2012 hitting a very deep patch of gravel and haven't ridden since, but I still have a sweet Nine Cont 2810 build that just needs a new battery (poor kon...

Re: Adopting Power Tool Batteries to Our Broader Uses
I can see the time when your bike carrier has three or four plug-in receptacles for a Makita or DeWalt or whomever lithium batteries. 7 years ago... Milwaukee V28 packs. Worked really, really well. Tool pack batteries haven't been as cheap as that since as far as I know. https://lh5.googleuserconte...

OOOOO OOOOO OOO OOOOO OOOOO OO OOOOO OOOOO OOOOO OOO OOOOO OO OOOOO OOO OO Looking to re-do my triangle pack this summer and will be following this thread. dislocated shoulder, road rash everywhere Glad you are "ok"... relatively speaking. Just did the above dislocation and abrasions to myself about 3wks ago. I was only going about 25-30kph around a corner though when I hit gravel that looked plenty solid, but ended up being like 10cm deep. ...

Glad to see your are getting good results from that 2810 Pwbset, I had a feeling you'd be happy. Thx Dogman... once I realized my speeds/power was being compromised by the 14 pole limit on my CA 2.0 on my 23 pole 9C it opened a whole new world. This motor is way more powerful and efficient than my ...

I found a “magic speed” on each configuration where you can run seemingly endless amounts of wattage through your hub without issue And that's just it... once you find the motor's sweet spot you're "golden". I've been experimenting & pushing a little with my 9C 2810 lately &...

Re: New Konion cell 20C continuous 6.7C charge
What's it cost to get a good quality setup for welding these with excellent results? Also, what connectors do you have to use? I just followed the "$100 Tab Welder" thread here and it worked great. I did add a better Scosche cap for better penetration recently, but it was only like $50 on...

Re: New Konion cell 20C continuous 6.7C charge
I'll definitely concede that only needing a small Ah battery of 10Ah or less, then these Konions are a better choice since A123 are 20Ah. ;) I wouldn't argue that. If I needed/wanted 20ah or more I'd be all over the A123s, but putting 180 little konions into an 18s10p triangle pack with my little 2...

I used to hope as cells became obsolete we'd be able to get them cheap. eg Imagine $1ea of the original Konions new. You and me both... that would be sweet! I've been stewing over it since April, and I get more po'd the more I think about it. Keep us posted... it's the holy grail as far as I'm conc...

I'm a little confused by the OP... is there a new konion cell or not? Googling reveals nothing . Or are you just being sarcastic about a group buy gone awry?? I've mentioned before I'm not the brightest bulb in the shed. If there is a another konion 18650 coming out and you're sourcing new ones at t...

Re: Emoli Cells Discharge to 2.0V?
So I have a bunch of IMR-26700AB cells salvaged from Milwaukee battery packs. I get about 1.9ah. Disappointing because they have a stated capacity of 2.6-2.7ah.. I never saw very good capacity in any used emolis I ever played with. Typically 3C sustained discharge and 50-75% rated capacity was norm...

CRASH! Hit some unexpected deep gravel and went down hard on my side this morning dislocating my left shoulder and adding to the myriad existing road rash scars. Watch out people! Thankfully I'll only be out 7-10 days with a sling. Dislocations hurt.

Re: El Escalador De Montaña Grises - Season 4
Fun experiment on the way home from work during the ~1,700ft descent. I wanted to find the no load/regen speed of the 9C 2810. It started to regen just above 35mph and was kicking out about 250-300 watts at 38mph. I got it up to 41mph very briefly about 500 watts and slurped back in a quick .1ah bef...

Re: El Escalador De Montaña Grises - Season 4
Well I figured out why I wasn't seeing the speeds/power I thought I would and it's to do with an early model Cycle Analyst that I have. Since I have a CA 2.0 and a 9C motor with 23 poles there are some revisions that need to happen in order to have accurate figures. 2.0 CA's can only recognize 14 po...
