Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

For stock display you just flash the motor.

Re: First conversion kit

Lots of good info here... I like the mids because it keeps wheel weight down, allows easier flat fixing, and you have the gears for climbing. I chose the TSDZ2 for the torque sensing that makes the rideability like a regular bike... pedal harder=go faster, although the Bafang range with PAS has been...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

TSDZ2 has a clutch/freewheel built in to the motor so, yes, you can stop pedaling or back pedal whenever you want, just like a regular bike. Hi, could you recommend me TDSZ2 motor for MTB? Which should I choose, is there a difference in freewheel clutches inside of the motor? Can I backpedal with TD...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Before I reflashed mine to 52V from the 48V firmware it came programmed with I ran it on partially charged 52V batteries that were up to ~55V. It worked fine up to that level... but the battery indicator always showed full.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Do you have the brake levers with the safety switches? If so push the levers out when this happens. On mine it takes just a tiny bit of pull (too small really) to activate the switches and cut the motor out and the return springs don't always get them where they need to be to run the motor. I am exp...

I believe it is just software. Available here:

Where do you find these overdrive versions? And how are they modded? Is it just software or?

Re: TSDZ2 higher RPM 36V motor with 48V controller

The 52V version is 100 RPM and they sell "overdrive versions that go 110/120 RPM for 48/52V versions. I am also a fit cyclist and don't really spin much beyond 90 on a pedal bike except maybe briefly. But that's just me.

Re: cracked super shark battery case

Not too much work at all... It's too new to be going around held together with duct tape! I also ordered a new super shark case from AliBaba. Not so much for the case but for the cradle to go on another e-bike build so I can use the battery on both bikes. Thinking about doing BBSHD on my old Special...

Well, I couldn't find anyone selling just the cradle so I just ordered an empty Super Shark case from AliBaba. Comes with a cradle, of course.

Just different file formats. Some older PCs only work with hex but my Windows 10 notebook worked with the newer S19 when I flashed my TSDZ2.

imgur is a good free alternative... for now anyway. But I guess there is no guarantee it will stay that way.

Re: Electric free ride build from scratch

Photobucket is evil. I used to host my pics there for many years until they tried to extort $$ from all users.... then they stopped hosting literally millions of photos that "broke the internet". I have many many threads in other forums where the photos are gone forever. I wouldn't trust them. thank...

Re: Electric free ride build from scratch

If you are posting a link to a remote image on a hosting site the file size doesn't matter. Just make sure you are copying and pasting the correct code. It should look like something this: (img)https://xxxx.com/xxxx.jpg(/img) I use a site called imgur that hosts for free. The image code actually use...

Re: cracked super shark battery case

Duct tape, yes! But I did a better repair. I cut a piece of ABS sheet and bent it wit a micro torch to fit the remaining hole, then used plastic epoxy to fix it and smooth the contour. Then a quick spray of black. Looks almost new. I see the cases for sale and they look the same but just wondering i...

Use super shark battery on 2 bikes

I am thinking of converting another one of my bikes to an e-bike and would like to use the same 52V super shark battery as I use on my first e-bike. Do vendors sell just the bike mounted cradle/socket? Are they somewhat standard or do you need to get one from the original battery vendor?

cracked super shark battery case

Took the bike on a run to the post office today and hit a frost heave on the path, battery got ejected. Not entirely sure if I had the thing locked properly. I thought I did but I guess it is possible I turned the key the wrong way. It took a pretty good blow to the nose and 2 big chunks of the plas...

Re: A few Tongsheng TSDZ2 questions

Interesting. I haven't compared mine to other brands but I'd say my TSDZ2 is dead quiet, nothing more than normal bike drivetrain sounds. Good to hear the blue gear is holding up to the mileage. One bad thing though. It is quite noisy...compared to other mid drives. But as long as it's reliable and ...

Re: TSDZ2 versions and throttle

Definitely get the throttle. It is small and unobtrusive and you don't have to use it. Plus the throttle version comes with the 8 wire cable that may be useful later if you want to go open source. The e-brakes... not really necessary, just a safety thing. I'd say if you get the throttle you might wa...

Re: TSDZ2 and chainstay clearance

Ah, that makes sense. You will also need some small diameter washers the same thickness on the non-drive side to take up the extra space this move creates on the mounting plate. I ordered pack of 35mm aluminium spacers just in case, but that would mean my chainline is going to be off. Not sure how w...

Re: TSDZ2 and chainstay clearance

35mm spacers?? Or 35 spacers of various mm's? If you need any BB spacer at all it'll only be a very few mm and won't push the chainline too much. My chainline is essentially perfect. The standard TSDZ2 chainline with the stock 42T ring is 51mm and I have a 1mm spacer so 2mm out from the standard 50m...

Re: TSDZ2 and chainstay clearance

I think it will fit. I went through this question when I did the build on my Canondale F1000. The gear housing was tight, but plenty of room for the 42T ring. The gear casing is 130mm diameter or 65mm radius. It has a beveled edge that would give more clearance if the housing bolt flange doesn't lin...

Even if Miarmar is a "dump" it has the weather... and apparently good beer... Looking pretty good from my perch in this crappy east coast winter. 20 degrees below normal, another snow storm coming Sunday night, then getting even colder. My e-bike and pedal bikes are collecting dust.

That makes sense. I just googled it and there are indeed a few here in the MD/VA/DC Metro area, generally in industrial park areas. Only a few, but I suppose that must be sufficient for the current client base. They are closing their sales offices, not their repair locations. Sales offices are typic...

Re: Tesla Model 3

I actually like the idea of buying online instead of at a dealer... but if they close their dealerships how and where do you get one of these repaired? Where do you buy parts? Do they plan to just contract this all out? This seems like another part of the auto business that Tesla may not fully under...
