Re: CYC X1 Stealth (NEW)
I have TSDZ2 and CYC X1 Pro bikes. Doing fast rides with that kind of climbing, your friend's TSDZ2 must have had cooling mods... or it has extra crispy windings. Most of my rides around here do about 2000 climbing in 30 miles and my TSDZ2 in stock form would quickly approach critical temp on the cl...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
And motorcycles also have a kill switch. Although I don't feel like brake cutoffs are really necessary on most e-bikes. The brakes should be able to overpower the motors in the rare instance of a runaway. Do y'all drive a car or a real motorcycle? If so, does it have a power interlock with the brake...

Re: CYC X1 Stealth (NEW)
How does it ride for you? And can you show details and close up pic of your battery mount? The 2 Stealth kits that I ordered straight from CYC took a long time to get to Western Australia . That was when CYC were having trouble with their controller supply chain though . Once they were shipped they ...

Re: seatpost rack for battery
Unfortunately this bike does not have a good location to mount a battery. No room in the "triangle" for a cased battery or even for a battery bag. I had it mounted under the down tube and did a half dozen rides but ultimately I wasn't comfortable with a few rivnuts holding it. This rack sh...

Re: seatpost rack for battery
Yup, rack is super solid... and the seatpost is a Ritchey so it should also be solid... but it has a lot of extension for my long legs. I dunno... I know this is cantilevered so adds to the stress but the post is probably rated for way more than my 190 pounds. We'll see... I did have a saddle mounti...

Re: seatpost rack for battery
I found one that will work. Local Dick's had these in stock, so I drove by to see it IRL and buy it at retail (how 1990s!). https://www.jensonusa.com/Blackburn-Central-Seatpost-Rack-Black?loc=usa&pt_source=googleads&pt_medium=cpc&pt_campaign=&pt_keyword=&gclid=CjwKCAjwu_mSBhAYEiw...

seatpost rack for battery
I have an older Specialized Stumper dual susp converted to CYC X1 Pro ebike and want to try to carry the battery on a seatpost rack. I got one on Amazon with a 20 pound rating which should be fine. Battery weighs about 10 pounds and this will be ridden on the street so the forces should be manageabl...

Re: CYC X1 Stealth (NEW)
I am also thinking about one of these Stealths for a gravel/road bike. Ticks all the boxes.... enough power, light weight, torque sensor. BBHSD is a no go for me since it doesn't have torque sense... and it is an incredibly heavy lump. I also have an OSF TSDZ2 on a hard tail and a CYC X1 Pro on a du...

Re: CYC X1 Stealth (NEW)
That's interesting. I have a similar issue with my X1 pro. There is just a bit of delay in engaging the motor drive as I start to pedal. This is not really a problem on the road but on technical singletrack it is hard to get the timing right on rocks and other obstacles. I'll have to check this sett...

Re: Anyone have Rear Radar Alert?
I got a Varia last fall after this discussion, and I really like it. Sometimes you can hear the car first, sometimes not due to wind or whatever. So depending on the my speed, the wind and other factors I sometime just make quick periodic glances down to see if anything is coming. The best part is t...

Re: Best Mid-drive Motors in 2021
LOL.. and there it is. Much ado abut nothing. Totally useless motor for most of us with existing bikes. Bullfrog, we're primarily looking to sell these motors on our own bikes, many of which are built on compatible frames. Selling motors for DIY is a bonus opportunity for adoption, which I'm expecti...

Yes, please post up details and sources for the X1 Pro belt conversion.

What sort of parts have you found that would work?
Thanks!

Sure we are. But those things don't cause climate change, at least not directly and not on the same scale. But they certainly do have some CC and other impacts from extraction, processing and recycling for sure. LOL... And whatever harebrained theory you are willing to accept it took billions of yea...

He probably believes in the immaculate petroleum deposition. Can we say, amen, people? Abiogenic (from what it seems to mean) is organisms that function without the normal breathing of ordinary biological things. I think you mean "anaerobic". a = not bio = life genic = produced by

LOL... And whatever harebrained theory you are willing to accept it took billions of years to work. Now we are sucking it down and burning it up like the fat kid going through a Golden Corral buffet. Basically in real time. So is it the product of magic bacteria as you said before, or is it abiogeni...

Re: Expensive EV DC fast charging
The real crux is that vehicles let us live larger and more varied lives, some of which worsens the well known issues of pollution, sprawl, and such. Not many of us are willing to live a life that merely fits within e-bike range and capability... or even within current BEV range and charging limits. ...

Re: Expensive EV DC fast charging
That might make sense for someone but not me. My mix of driving would require far too many rentals. My point is that EVs need to be practical and cost effective for road trips before they will be broadly accepted. As of now we are not on a trajectory to make that happen. Not even close. I wasn't add...

Man, Chalo, you are sometimes a smart guy, but other times not. You just love to jump to unjustified conclusions. The trip I used above as an example was just that, an example. But by far not the only road trip or other utilitarian use I routinely make of my Tacoma. Other road trips, workdays at the...

Re: Expensive EV DC fast charging
I'm sorry, climate change is real. I just don't see how EVs will change that very much especially since most electricity is generated here by coal, gas and oil. All that would need to be converted simultaneously to carbon free sources to make a real difference. And the costs of fully converting to E...

Re: Expensive EV DC fast charging
But most of us can or will only be able to afford and have one vehicle. It would need to do both.. or should I say best fulfill all of one's needs. That is the dilemma. Choosing a workday commute vehicle based on its road trip ability, towing capacity, rock crawling capability or whatever, seems to ...

Expensive USA EV DC fast charging
I am looking at what my next vehicle might be and a BEV is compelling... and Level 2 home charging would more than fulfill my local driving needs. IIRC fully loaded residential electricity cost here is ~ 15 cents per KWh. The Ford Mustang Mach E with the extended battery I am looking at is rated to ...
