Re: US - E-Grom parts
The bike is now mostly disassembled from me taking parts off to transfer to a new build. I'm lowering the price to $300 for all of it, but I am also now parting it out. If anyone has an e-grom and wants spare parts, let me know.

Re: E-Ducati Build
Looking fantastic. Maybe a cheap Chinese BMS but instead of driving the real load, only let it drive the DC/DC and through that a high current contactor for the motor driver. That way you lose current sense from the BMS. But at least you allow the BMS to cut off the load if it needs to. Should work...

Maybe the 66t sprocket depending on the chain type.

Re: HubMonster mid-drive (who says chains have to be noisy?)
How does the motor look in this setup with the fan blades installed on the shell? I just pulled apart my hubmonster for ventilation and I'm trying to get an idea for fan blade spacing and how they create enough vacuum to pull air out through the holes. Also, regarding the close fitting intake cover,...

Re: bac 8000 pre-charge
A precharge of some sort would be a good idea at 72v, both to avoid damage to the controller and the contactor. Use ohm's law (Voltage = current x resistance) to properly size a resistor. For example, if you want to limit the precharge current to 2 amps, then a ~36 ohm resistor should be used (72v/2...

US - E-Grom parts
Hi all, For sale is a mostly complete chinese egrom. Not parting out yet, hoping someone will grab it for an egrom build. The bike has everything, minus the following parts: Batteries and battery box Stock controller (kinda shit anyways) There may be a couple of other things but that's most of it. T...

Re: 1979 Yamaha XS750 conversion.
I would highly recommend thickening the metal on the extension where the axle is going. Better yet, thicken it and make it clamp on the axle. That motor is probably capable of at least 30kw bursts, and the torque at those levels may shred those holes. I know some qs motors come with small torque arm...

Re: 12kW upgraded E-Grom with ASI BAC4000
I have the keyswitch pin wired directly to B+ on the controller, just another ring terminal on top of B+. The controller turns on when the contactor closes.

Re: 12kW upgraded E-Grom with ASI BAC4000
The 12v system is turned on by a switch on my handlebars. Then when I turn the key switch the smart precharger prechargers the controller caps and closes the contactor automatically after they are charged. This is the website with the wiring diagram: https://www.evwest.com/catalog/product_info.php?p...

Re: PV NextGen FOC 130v 200/600A 25kw - $599, Watch Display
In theory, it should work. Over CAN, the motors are synced with understanding that they are on different axles with ability to control traction. I think it would be best, however, to implement the exact logic that would be needed to keep two pairs of phases in a single motor in sync. You mention be...

Re: PV NextGen FOC 130v 200/600A 25kw - $599, Watch Display
You mention being able to connect controllers via CAN, do you think there would be any issues running a dual 3-phase/6-phase motor like a hubmonster using two controllers connected by CAN?

Re: 12kW upgraded E-Grom with ASI BAC4000
From what I've read, some motors' designs make field weakening less efficient than others, sometimes so much so that field weakening is not the best way to go about reaching higher speeds. It depends on the motor

Re: 12kW upgraded E-Grom with ASI BAC4000
Starting my own e-grom build. I'm worried about top speed not being enough to keep up with traffic as stock these things top out around 40-45mph. I note your battery voltage didn't go up that much, was the ASI controller enough to bring that top speed up into the 60-70mph range? Hey, I'm the guy fr...

Re: 1972 Honda CB350F conversion process
You mentioned 10kW continuous, what is the peak power? The controller is rated for 340A peak, which works out to about 25kw I found your thread on ElMoto, keep in mind that peak power can't be calculated from motor current, only battery current. So your peak power would be 72V * peak battery current

The 6.x and 5.x controllers use different chipsets, so the firmware is incompatible. Not sure about what that means for your controller though.

I found the DC/DC on eBay:

It's non-isolated, but hasn't given me any issues

I made a cycle analyst adapter for my egrom, bought from the same website. It's been working pretty well for me, let me know if you want the STL files for 3d printing or the original cad files.
