Re: US: QS 138 70H and ASI BAC4000

I have the file for the qs183, but the BAC is pending right now. Tuning the BAC for any motor is just a matter of hitting a few buttons, the controller does most of the work, similar to VESC. The motor has the tapered shaft with woodruff key. I'm not really looking for any ebike stuff right now, jus...

The QS138 has had both bearings replaced because of a faulty factory bearing. Shows some scuffs and marks from me opening it up, but works well. Comes with the HTD pulley and the 428 chain sprocket. The BAC4000 is running 5.x.x firmware, which I don't think ASI officially supports anymore, but I hav...

Re: Hubmonster teardown

If they would just do something better for torque management, those motors would be so much more appealing. At the power levels these can take those axles just don't seem like enough. Something like an Enertrac torque arm would be awesome.

There is nothing in a controller to regulate voltage downwards There is. If you don’t know then please be a bit more humble (or you could end up like the original poster of this thread, he was throwing tantrums enough to get kicked out just because he was wrong and couldn’t accept it.) It’s called ...

Re: Hubmonster teardown

There is plenty of info on this forum describing exactly what a hubmonster is, from the laminations to the no-load current. If you ask me, 6-phase hubmotor doesn't tell you much either. Not all 6 phase scooter hubmotors are hubmonsters. As for 150v foc controllers you might want to check out the pow...

Saw these on battery hookup, 80% capacity left. Worth it? It would be ~$700 for a 3.8 kwh battery and a 70% or so range increase.

Re: PV NextGen FOC 130v 200/600A 25kw - $599, Watch Display

The connector covers the contacts. Unless you submerge it under water, it will be fine. I feel like the new signal connectors could be a weak point sticking out like that, especially with no electrical insulation. What if a couple drops of water make their way onto that connector? Okay, sounds good...

Re: Honda PCX 150 Conversion

If you removed the cvt and used a bigger electric motor you'd probably save weight and space, although you'd need to find a different swingarm. Electric motors don't generally need transmissions for stuff like this because they produce maximum torque from 0 rpms rather than needing to build rpms for...

Re: 2017 Honda CR250R to Electric

The chain is a 428VX by DID. It is rated at a higher strength than a normal 520. So far it is good. I like that the 428 - 63 tooth rear fits in the stock chain guide which was for a 520 - 49 tooth. The sprockets are about the same diameter an the chains are about the same width. Good to know the ch...

Re: Looking for a street legal Electric Scooter/Moped

QS motors are generally pretty decent quality. I just mean do your research, look around on ES for threads about the motor you're thinking about or builds that use the motor. See what kind of power people are getting out of it, or of there are any issues.

On top of all that, another thing to keep in mind is that motor ratings are not always accurate. The "3000w" qs138 70h mid drive motor has been known to take 25kW burst (with lower efficiency) and much more than 3kW continuous, and other qs motors are similarly underrated. If you are looki...

It is going to feel like a rocket, should be about a full G of acceleration up to ~25mph at 600 phase amps.
