I would like to inform this forum of my dealing with Alan from ERT. Im going to make this as short as possible. I purchased a asi 8000 from him and a motor, which took several months to arrive. After receiving the motor and controller, i went to get it running for the first time only to find out tha...

Just switch your connectors for ones that have the resistor built in. https://www.amazon.com/XT90-S-Female-Connector-Battery-Charge/dp/B00RVM8U5W/ref=asc_df_B00RVM8U5W/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=343187928718&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4436056351282527486&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcm...

Re: Avoiding spark

The main concern with a resistor is to avoid blowing it when you use a tiny low wattage one. So you need to use Ohm's law to select a resistance value high enough for your voltage that not too much current can flow. You could try a resistor with as many ohms as your battery has volts. I made a prec...

Avoiding spark

Quick question, i have a 72v battery nominal and the bac8000 controller, when i go to connect the terminal from the battery to the controller theres a spark which is expected. However it causes a bit of a burn on the connector as seen in the image and would like to avoid that. Now its only going to ...

I had the 709A and had the same issue despite the rotary power knob turned to max and all 3 Pulse count switches engaged. Just not enough power to do the job with even .025 strips. Sold it and got the Kweld talked about here on ES. Problem solved.
Looks like I'm going to have to return mine

709A spot welder

Hello, having a small problem, wondering if anyone has experience with a similar problem. I have a 709A spot welder, and have .01mm thick nickel strip which i used for my parallel connections, and 0.3mm thick nickel strip which i was going to use for the series connections. The problem is for the 0....

Re: Bypass Bms

No. You put the negative probe of the multimeter on the main negative or the negative pin of the jst. It will be the first or the last depending on the bms model. Then you place the positive probe on each pin of the jst in order. The first time you should read around 3.4v the second pin should show...

Re: Bypass Bms

If you have only -b and -p then you have a "shared port" bms -p is charge and discharge wire. You must connect -b to main negative. Then you solder the balance wires in order. Double check the voltage pin by pin with a multimeter(do you know how to?) If they are ok you can plug the jst to the bms S...

Re: Bypass Bms

To bypass the bms you must ignore -p. Both discharge wires are soldered to the pack main -&+ -b and-c must be soldered You keep the balancing feature but you lose the lvc. You must program your controller to cut discharge. Keep that in mind or you will kill your pack. Thanks for the reply, yes im g...

Haha I'm in a back and forth mindset reading through all the comments. And I'm weighing out all my options. Re: Bike Rim/Tire

My big draw back with MC rims and tires is the weight. Someone did a post on there MC wheel build and compared the weight of that to the bike wheel build and it was a total of about 20lbs heavier... That's alot. And I'm kind of wondering now, how come people with sur rons aren't complaining about ti...
