For now I will keep to an assist level of 10 - but that does quite limit the overall ebike effect.
Not sure what kind of hills are you guys riding but in higher assist levels on 8% incline it almost rides itself in assist level 0.7 (level 7 or similar ) like a motorcycle giving out 700-800W.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I am considering giving up on this project lately as it seems to be severely limited by the motor capability. For my applications, I find it underpowered, and too easy to overheat. Nearly every ride, I find myself wishing it was just a BBSHD. I really don't think it's worth the time or money to try...

finally did the torque sensor calibration. Looks like range of ADC values is narrow. Screenshot_20200808-141159_Sheets.jpg Not sure what to think. It looks to me like there is less torque on lower RPM but delivery is smoother. I find myself riding in higher assistance levels than before calibration.

Re: BT Interface for TSDZ2 Open Source firmware - Work in progress

Any progress on supporting tsdz2 firmware v1.0.0? The Controller protocol and firmware parameters are different and the porting involves all the layers (ESP32 and Android app.), and since I am really satisfied with the current firmware, i don't have in plan (at least for now) to port the v1.0.0. Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I almost wish there is a simple analog indicator for assist levels and buttons the rest goes to mobile app or something. Sw102 is useless in bright sunshine especially with polarized sunglasses. I have to tilt my head 45 degrees while riding to try to figure out what's the current assist level. Sti...

Sw102 size and stealthiness is great, problem is it's hardly visible under bright sunlight. That and the fact that there is no Android app for it. I've researched possibility to write android app in golang but bluetooth support looks questionable.

Update! Whoo hoo fixed the issues with our bikes! I realised I was somehow using the 1.0.0b version of the firmware. No idea how that happened. I installed the 1.0.0 and along with HughF's settings, it's all good again. And yes I can confirm, to get the startup boost, the boost has to be set to &qu...

Would it be possible to add similar functionalities to freewheel bikes. When you rotate pedals backwards to immediately stop the motor. This could help with overrun and gear changing, to prevent damage to the bluewheel when shifting. With the coaster brake version of the motor, turning the pedals b...

That's not completely true. I've fried my controller 7 days ago with the 0.55 firmware. Mentioned that few pages back. I lost track of which firmware version is working correctly. On my 4 ebikes, I have most all of them damaged so the only solution is to find and solve the issue. The working firmwa...

Hi all. I've fried my controller by trying to update to v0.56 TSDZ2 FW. Maybe it's your motor that has a problem? maybe one of your wadings has a short spire? People did not report here any issues with damaging the controller because of the new firmware. Unless it's your PWM got crazy because of th...

I put 10 mm thick pad on the same position, on The Dahon that I am building for my wife. I cut one strip of 10 mm thick metrial (100 x 300 mm), found out that when you strech it and wrap around the stator, it behaves like a mixture of clay and rubber, so It shrinks back with a bit of delay, just en...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive and 850C and SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Another thing, motor is resisting pushing the bike back (when unpowered). So I would say there is a short circuit on the motor coils or on the 3 motor phase wires. Disconnect the phase wires from the motor controller and test again. The motor will resist to turn by hand while it is in short circuit...
