Wondering what it's all worth

Been a long time, looking to clean out some stuff in the garage. Not posting this as an ad or anything so please don't delete or flag or anything of the sort, I'm just trying to get some feedback from you all on approximate values of this stuff. The following stuff is on Specialized Stump Jumper ful...

Re: New potential ebike battery product development

Tony from Voltphreaks here. I'm currently using two of our 12V batteries on my ebike (an Electrec), We're wondering if there would be any interest in influencing the design of an eBike battery that we're thinking of selling. - Tony If you build it they will come! I mean buy it (myself included) it ...

Re: Semi Infinite Battery

But some times they don't have enough stuff to keep me busy 8 hours, although my pay rate is 0.00/hr that can't afford to keep me. I get disruptive when I'm bored I'm running 48v and I use a 24v Soneil (it's only 1.8 lbs) to charge my 4 18ah sla's in 24v parallel at work and it goes into float afte...

Re: An epensive battery charger anyone?

I paid for delivery of a 48v-3.5ah battery chargher.Cost me $150 from Soniel Chargers,. Its suppossed, I think it to be super high quality,I'm tired of the cheapo chargers that die. But I wonder if a "High Power"charger is reliable? Did I overkill,or is a "High power" 48v charge...

Re: NO WAY! I SPUN A BEARING?!!!!!!!

i have him add material to the cap where the bearing presses in and re-machine the motor cap to hold a new bearing I'm not sure how your covers are designed but I had too much play between shaft, bearing (the bearings have play because of design and quality) and cover on a x5304, I took it apart an...

Re: The "3,000 Mile Rule"

Because SLA's self discharge (slowly, but regularly) , you must religiously top off disconnected SLA's monthly to ensure best performance (and avoid sulfation). I have 3 sets of SLAs I don't really use anymore, that I am still prompted to top off monthly. Pain in the butt. Yes and no, I've been run...

Re: The "3,000 Mile Rule"

This is a bit off topic of the 3000 mile rule. there are a lot of people that will be like me and love the idea of electric for the back and forth to work thing but still have to have a loud noise maker just for the sheer excitement of it some die hard motorheads will never give up their gas vehicle...

Re: The "3,000 Mile Rule"

The idea of the rule was to give some "slack" for the people who might show up here and are just getting into the sport. It's a way of saying it's "okay" to start with an inexpensive SLA bike because at the beginning the price is reasonable. I agree 100%, I got 8 12v 18ah batter...

Anyone Have Getadirtbike's Torque Arms? Pictures Please.

I'm looking for anyone that is using getadirtbike's torque arms. I'm looking for pictures of how they fit, what you did to mount to the frame, how they look etc... I'm going to get a pair but I want to see how some of you are using them. I was thinking of heating them up as much as possible and bend...

Re: Dual Suspension Frames with rear steel dropouts!? exists?

I'll endeavour to get you some photos of them this week That would be great, if you post them in this link I'm sure you'll find there are more people looking to buy some, and before you get to many people looking for some I'd like to put my name on the list. The only thing that I'm curious about it...

Torque Arms my idea will it work?

I'm building a steel/moly rigid Bianchi mountain bike. I had a thought concerning torque arms, Craigslist has a lot of cheap bikes if you can find a cheap steel framed bike you can cut off the lower part of the triangle including the dropouts as long as the drop is at the right angle, cut down the c...

Re: Dual Suspension Frames with rear steel dropouts!? exists?

Just don't use the under the frame water bottle Again, don't use that waterbottle by the front wheel. Why not? Not that I have one but 2 elusive statements like those need clarification, curiosity and all. I would imagine if it is under the frame that any thing you run over sand water mud etc... en...

Re: Dual Suspension Frames with rear steel dropouts!? exists?

Here's a side view of it Does anyone have pictures of getadirtbike's torque arms before installation of the nuts to see the fitment and other attachments on their bikes? I'm looking to probably make my own but if these work well and the fitment is there, I'm sure they would hold great but I'm not s...

Re: First Post, First Bike Build, Questions

Thoughts on throttles. I'm partial to the full grip throttle having ridden motorcycles for a long time. I'm thinking the thumb throttle might make more sense on a bicycle though If I put this together the way that I was thinking then I can take off the controller (get the extension cables from motor...

Re: First Post, First Bike Build, Questions

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you've done your research. Thanks you need torque arms to make it secure. I will need to design these for my bike. I'm just not sure how thick I'm going to need to go and how much shaft extends beyond the drops. Locktite is a great idea, but a loose nut isn't the pr...

Re: First Post, First Bike Build, Questions

135mm, between the insides. I have to pry the drops just a *tiny* bit, which makes the motor sit snugly centered. Cool thanks for that, that's what I have (135mm) so it looks like I'm getting a 7 speed. The only thing with that is trying to get my XTR Rear to match 7 instead of 8. I want to say tha...

First Post, First Bike Build, Questions

Let me just say that this is an impressive board with a lot of smart creative members, I stumbled across it looking for info about Crystalyte stuff and needless to say I have been spending many late nights reading through a lot of posts (my wife hates it). I think I have a pretty good game plan so I...
