Re: Simple balancer for lipo, will it work?
You cannot use those boards. It will 100% cause total destruction. The only thing that can make this work is if you put each of them on a isolated dc-dc converter or use a 4.2v isolated dc-dc converter but those dont exist. Lol thanks for setting me straight, I bought a few, I'll just use them as s...

Simple balancer for lipo, will it work?
Hey, I have been away for a few years(like 4-5 years!! jeez) ever since my lipo battery got overcharged due to my dumb charging setup. I got the urge to get the bike back in operation and wanted to run an idea past you guys. Looks like the bulk charging for 20s lipo packs has hope now that lunacycle...

Re: Argh! Overcharged to 4.5v
I ruined my batteries the same way, never got to 4.5, but they got to 4.3 a couple of times. Some still work but have 50% capacity, and many have dead cells now. If I rebuild the pack I plan to use one of the bmsbattery chargers ( http://www.bmsbattery.com/18-alloy-shell ) with reliable voltages, th...

Re: ??????? vs x5403 - Fight!
Did a 30km ride with the front mount pack this morning. Couldn't even tell it was there. The mount on these bags is very well designed and with the bag being completely full of LiPo, there is next to no movment in it. Its a keeper :) Thanks for your perseverance and guidance on this one oatnet. 8) ...

Re: Upgrade time! 40mph max speed target. Help
I know there's just about no way to 100% water proof these motors but I imagine there is a difference between the tiny amount of water that gets into my sealed motor vs having larger ventilation holes. it's not necessarily a tiny amount. ;) go watch justin's last video about hubmotors. link?

Any good ideas on how to do a front battery mount on non triple crown suspension forks that don't involve welding/machining? Big zip ties?

Re: Why parallel packs?
Isn't the OP's question regarding what happens when 2 cells that are parralled the pack level and the balance taps have a large difference in voltage under load? I would be interested to know more as well, seems to me the balance wires would not be able to handle it and would vaporize like they do w...

OMG these things look awesome. I had given up on e-bikes since I couldn’t find a reliable charger for my 84v lipo pack and destroyed it
If only I had seen this! Maybe its time to resurrect my bike

Re: Will stock 9C 2807 like being powered by 72V 40A control
Yeah but.. there is a point where you need higher amps to cruise.. Like at 36a, i could only go about 37mph on the flats. 72v ( 83V charged ) should have gone about 46mph. I probably needed about 50-60 amps or more to cruise at the speed that 72v can go. 36a x 82v = 2952w constant on the flats. Hmm...

I would just keep the amps lower unless you prefer acceleration to top speed. More volts = more fun

Re: Will stock 9C 2807 like being powered by 72V 40A control
alot probably, I added alittle solder to my old 22 amp controller and it can pull 30 amps now. Best(easiest) way to test is with a watt meter on the battery while applying the brakes and WOT.

Re: Will stock 9C 2807 like being powered by 72V 40A control
72v is not a problem, but I think 40A on an unmoded motor is unwise. I ran my 9c at 74v 30A with no mods and never had a problem. For months I regularly took 12 mile trips at 40+ mph most of the way. I only stopped becasue I messed up my batteries while charging them, the motor is fine..

Your bike is very similar to my first ebike. Nice Grindz. I like it. Is that an Xtracyle? How do you find the front suspension effects handling? When I have both kids on the back, I find I have to hold control a lot on the front, and so I am wondering how front suspension would effect control when you have decent weight on the back? My bike i...

Would it be possible to use this with 5s packs instead, or can it only be a 12s 2p configuration. For my setup I would need 20s2p so 2 5s2p in series would work. 24s2p is to much for my controller.
