Re: Splitting up a 14s pack to balance
Been out riding and enjoying the bike so not been posting. Turns out my other charger the 52v 2a one outputs exactly 57.4v which perfectly takes me up to 4.1 per cell with zero messing about. The cells are Samsung pink 35e all brand new from nkon in the Netherlands. I bought 70. I used 56 in my 14s4...

Re: Splitting up a 14s pack to balance
Got all my charge leads soldiered on today. Im going to use an old 48v 2 amp charger to get the pack most of the way to 4.1 and then use balance charger to top off.

Re: Splitting up a 14s pack to balance
My amp discharge rate is set at 10 i may up that to 11.
My pack is only 4p so 4 amp charging is as high as id ever want to go.
Id rather have a slower charge and longer pack cycle life.

Re: Splitting up a 14s pack to balance
If the two balance chargers are coming off the same supply, you can't use them at the same time unless you break the series connection between the pack sections. If you had two separate supplies running separate balance chargers, then you could run them at the same time. Ok cheers. I would probably...

Re: Splitting up a 14s pack to balance
That option has gone as the pack is built. Plus my charger is dual 6s.
My bulk 52v charger is ok i guess. But i wont be using a bms. The cells are brand new Samsung 35E's
Im only charging up to 4.1 and discharging down to 2.8 for cell life extension

Re: Splitting up a 14s pack to balance
Should work except you have to do one section at a time. You can't do more than one at time unless the balance chargers are isolated. Cheers for the prompt reply. Would charging the two 5 packs at each end together be ok leaving the 4s in the middle to charge on its own after? My charger is the ..H...

Splitting up a 14s pack to balance
Hi. Just got my first ever battery welded together. Went very easy with my diy car battery welder. Ive added 3 balance leads 5s 4s and 5s to make the 14s. Is there any technical reason why i cant and 4 charge leads at cell 1 negative, the join between 5 and 6, the join between 9 and 10 and cell 14 p...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
Hi! I read that with the tsdz2 engine, if the maximum pedal cadence is low, a 36v system can be driven with a 48v battery. Can someone help you do exactly how to do this WITHOUT using vlcd5 and kt lcd3 displays, only with the help of (for example) st-link reprogramming? I haven't bought a kit yet. ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor
ive been wondering about this for a while now and still no closer to finding the answer. given that i can select watts and amps limit in the settings and i know my battery voltage lets say its a freshly charged 48v battery putting out around 52v if i set the watts limit to 600 and the amps limit to ...

Re: building my first battery
Is better to charge all cells to same voltage. Like put cell in a long parallel string and charge 2 the same voltage. If new should all be very close. But some vendors mix batches. Nice to have a rc charger. Hi 999zip999 Yes ive been looking into how im going to charge this and charge all the cells...

Re: building my first battery
When it comes to the actual matching up of the 5p packs. Ive been dreading having to fully charge all 70 cells 2 at a time on my nightcore 18650 charger. Just a thought i had this morning. Ill already have a 14s bms, can i make a 14 cell battery holder and create a temporary 1p14s pack to utilize th...

Re: building my first battery
Fechter I love the simplicity of your build p+s out of single nickle sheet. Would the fiberglass tape not stop my pack from fitting together neatly given that its not going to be in straight lines as yours is but rather the hexagonal pattern? Point taken about the paper positive end insulator, i sha...

Re: New batt for TSDZ2 /cold climate/BMS compatibility questions
Hi Cant coment on the other batteries but im looking at building a pack from Samsung 35e cells. They do look good. Another member on here told me that unless you charge them at 1amp your recharging cycles will take a big hit. Can charge at 2 amps but very bad for the life of the cells. Hope that hel...

About the HLG The thing i found was a power source for led lighting fixed at 5.something amps and said nothing about possible adjustments. :thumb: Ok cheers for that flippy. Looking at the data sheet it seems to agree with what you are saying. The bike is purley a leisure bike, no big daily commutes so i could probably live with a poor duty life but i would need a charger that i have more control over. Given my needs could you recommen...
