Heat shrink tubing is this stuff from Aliexpress:

Cables are from a local welding supplier, big arcwelders have nice flexible multistrand cables that also come in orange.

Re: Yamaha FZR-8000 Genesis

If my swingarm was a bit narrower I would have been able to mount the motor similar to you, which would have been way better. But the FZR-1000 originally has a 4.5" wide rear rim so it's too wide for the QS motor. https://i.imgur.com/XSTxVdy.png That's how the inside of the original junctionbox look...

https://i.imgur.com/tAr06jz.jpg Cooling system works, it's quite noisy and not very efficient though so might not use it. Iirc it was about 16c in the room in that picture. Reckon it will work a lot better if I insulate the hoses. https://i.imgur.com/jlJpFkC.jpg Cut a new dashboard, and added indic...

Re: Yamaha FZR-8000 Genesis

Where did you get the 3D model of the QS motor? Also, have you tested the motors performance? I'm very curious on how it accelerates. I'm split on getting a 8kw or going for the 12kw. I modelled the motor myself in Fusion360 based off the drawing given to me by QS. Far too early to say much about t...

Looks good! Very tightly packed together.

Make sure you add some rubber grommets to those holes in the plate with cables going through them, don't want the cable insulation to get chafed off.

Re: New Project " help Please" Honda st1300 Conversion

I get the Wh/mile to 170 on the Energica Ego+ (in Extra urban which I assume is highway) and around 154 for the Zero SR/F highway so 200 sounds high for the DSR. Haven't seen CD values for either bike but would be surprised if the DSR had significant aerodynamic advantages over the ST1300, and weigh...

Super excited about your recent progress! How did the first ride go? Have you installed the throttle bars from QS yet? Throttle bars? I'm about to order similar parts from QS as you: 8000kW HUB-motor, Kelly controller, throttle bars, rear brakes. Probably the same kit you bought. What are your batt...

Re: Vespa PX200E conversion

Make sure you have checked your local laws before you start buying things, here in Sweden EV swapping a motorcycle would make it a "Modified vehicle" that needs to be inspected by SFRO (The Swedish Vehicle Builders Association), I'm not sure if you have a equivalent in Denmark. If that's all kosher ...

Re: Yamaha FZR-8000 Genesis

Never put it on a scale when I got it so not sure, but the downtubes and subframe are steel so I wouldn't be surpised if it was still close to 100kg with everything except the drivetrain and fuel.

Re: Yamaha FZR-8000 Genesis

If you compare torque it makes more sense, I'm putting a motor with ~280nm of torque in a bike that originally had a maximum of 262nm in first gear(102nm on the motor and that's at 8500rpm). And the choice of bike makes sense regardless of power to me, the frame weighs 12kg so it's plenty light and ...

Re: Yamaha FZR-8000 Genesis

The plan is to mount the controllers on spacers, and potentionally upgrade to a separate watercooling system if needed. I've ordered a fairly chunky aircooled peltier watercooling assembly that I'll use for the battery, if that works I have a spare PC water-cooler I can use for the controller. https...
