Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

continue to increase growth of our extractive consumption worldwide I agree, People need to quit using so much energy. Just looking at myself and my usage and what it would cost to power everything, a person comes to only one conclusion. The less that is used, the less that is needed. I am sure Ger...

y kdog » Oct 30 2020 8:41pm Has anyone here come across the cost of a new earth... I looked on eBay but couldnt find anything. Just a ball park figure would be good. Not sure if I'll need one yet but maybe when the kids are a bit older.... I found the price of an asteroid $10quadrillion (usd) but I...

Re: lead acid battery made by hand

Lead gets into the body and don't really leave, They have found bones with streaks of lead in them. Neurotoxin, no levels of lead is safe. The sooner that lead batteries are put out of use the better.

Re: What is a good source for larger cranks and sets

It all would not be a problem is I could peddle at 120 cadence, can't and don't want to. But want to add a few watts of power at 28 mph. Think about going to a 24" rear wheel to adjust the Caster or go to 24" front wheels. If I could get a 60T front ring to work then the 24" rear wheel looks doable....

Re: Slowest wind direct drive hub motor(s) available?

Nobody needs to actually put together an e-bike to know want they ultimately want for their own personal riding needs. I would not call early ideas a mistakes. did not know what was needed to do what I wanted but did not realize until had mine built and road for a year or so. I started out building...

The reason for limiting to a 53T front, thought about doing what BilVon did add another gear set to the middle but would need a front chain tensor.

What about the gap between the magnets?

You could analyze it forever and get a percentage point here or there.

The bottom line, it doesnt matter! Just get out there and ride. Stop analyzing and make the purchases now.
I like riding more than analyzing.

I was hung up on the money thing but now it does not matter what it cost. Time to move forward, stop hanging on to the 1800's.

I would be mostly bed ridden and not get any exercise if it was not for E-bikes. Just hanging on and being out there is more exercise than laying in bed. The more I ride the more i'm able to and better I feel.

Never thought of just adding another one. It's not that pedaling would help much at higher speeds but do like to pedal and apply some pressure. Don't use the 30T except when I'm home it will pull any hill but with the power I have it is mostly useless.

by LV_Rider » Oct 28 2020 12:20pm Ok, got the bike and **spoiler alert** no throttle needed. This thing is perfect the way it is. Even at lowest pedal assist, the 250w motor provides a surprisingly strong surge of power which can be effortlessly maintained by just barely rotating the pedals. I'd ev...

Grinfineon 40A but have it limited to 36A can take off all the power limits and max out the controller. Going to swap out the 7T leafmotor for a 5T Edge. This will up my top end but don't think it will help my 0-20mph times. Better get an acceleration test before the swap so I can have some info on ...

People and money are just crazy. Watch people buy new cars and lose thousands on the first day they drive it. Others buy a used car on payments and 6yr note and pay 30k for a 6k used cars. US dollars. Payed 10k US for my used 2013 leaf the only used EV in town at that time in a city of 2 million. Ha...

Have not tried this but would like to remove my smallest ring gear and add a larger ring gear to the outside.

Have 50/39/30 would like 60/50/39, has anyone done this?

Must admit Dauntless has as much energy as Trump. I spend to much time on here and can not imagine how much time it would take to come up with long post with lots of links. Just think how much time it would take to hit every topic and add in some Trump lore with several links and keep them updated.
