Re: 4S LiFePO4 as a 12V system

That fuse is better than was looking at. Thx good link. No, i'm not constrained. Yes, it has to do with the startup. Don't want to build to that high of amps. I could i'm not that cheap. Most things like ebikes, inverters, batteries, ect..... have a surge rating. That is what i'm shooting for. Make ...

Re: What can a Grin controller + cycle analyst do that KT controllers + KT display can't do?

I'm sure the KT display controls the the KT controller. The CA is nothing like other displays. It only modifies the throttle input to the controllers. you could have both if you wanted to. It just needs inputs like motor or wheel speed and watts/amps from the battery. Tempter if available. The CA is...

Re: What can a Grin controller + cycle analyst do that KT controllers + KT display can't do?

The CA does not need to plug into the controller. It does not control the controller. The controllers that have a CA plug in shares the internal shunt and connects directly to throttle. Nothing you can't do yourself with any controller. You can buy an external shunt for the CA and just plug it into ...

I stole your image. 8)
Looks like Aluminum would be a good conductor for a house battery maybe come copper sheet. My batteries are on the way. Going to give pressure contact a try. Maybe punched copper sheet, thought about Aluminum, it does not react well with copper. That the reason for Nickle?

If you like working on eBikes most things can be done. Takes time and a little figuring out. Which most of the members do. Just can not leave well enough alone.

Lived in Tornado Alley for 13yrs. People ask me did I see a Tornado up close. The answer is i'm here to tell the tale so, no. Lived in Hennessey, OK and seen plenty of destruction. Some time I will scan some pictures and upload them. From the 80's. The reason did not see any up close was we would go...

I'm sure what is in my head is from reading Luke's adventures. The history here is full of information that has been done but is starting to be lost. Some older links are not available anymore. So figure my job is just to point to it. Nothing like doing it yourself. by spinningmagnets » Oct 25 2021 ...

Re: Breaking in a high powered motor/insulating

That is something to think about. smaller wires are easer to get thru and fit together in tight spaces better. Maybe do some math and see if you can go to one size smaller then run a pair of them per phase....

I have project coming up like that maybe I should do the math...

Re: What can a Grin controller + cycle analyst do that KT controllers + KT display can't do?

I'm not knocking KT controllers. Should get myself one. The CA is not a controller it is added features. If your controller does everything you need then don't need one. But having one around is just another tool in the basket. I like the cycle feature for telling how many times I have charged up an...

Re: Breaking in a high powered motor/insulating

Need bigger wires! The wires in the motor and axel can not cool themselves. Stuff in as big as you can then just out side the axel have bigger wires connected should help pull some heat out. Your limited to how how hot your wires, motor, controller get.

Don't know KT controllers. Do they have thermal roll back, can you log data from them, do you have control of PAS on the fly, different profiles. Need more?

Did they penalize you for keeping your old battery? Did you have someone besides Nissan to do the replacement.

Have mine plugged in with a digital switch. Had used it for 3 speed switch and changed it to 3 power levels. The digital switch is used for PAS levels. Did not need to brake out and connect any wires. Just plugged it in and allowed three settings. Which at the moment is 35%, 66% and 100%. It's been ...

Once you pick a motor the best efficiency is at max rpm of that setup. I'm still not clear, so when it says "201 RPM" motor, is that when the motor will be at its highest efficiency but can still spin slightly faster? I do not know the Q128. All motors have a Kv (This is rpm's per Volt) th...

If you do not understand the difference please read up on it. The base/Phaserunner you get Grin's support and th...

Loaded is around +/- 80% of unloaded rpm. Max efficiency would be the highest rpms. If your really talking about using the least amount of watts then use the pedals more. Can not pedal hard anymore. Still ride for exercise and like todo long rides but limited to about 4hrs so farther must be faster ...

I think the problem is the rear was aluminum and not very big. My trike is mostly Aluminum, just the rear fork is chromemoly. It's a rear suspension.
